  1. Thanks mate. Might be easier to design everything then just come to you for integration. I simply want to install my CarPC and have it run MediaPortal through the main popup screen initially though I wasn't sure if I'd need to replace the popup with an aftermarket screen (unsure of quality for text) - hopefully at the same time as I get the CC and alarm done... Lets just hope I don't get hit with another huge CC bill once I pay my current one off ;(
  2. As skyline enthusiasts, you're all much more likely to notice a skyline driver doing the wrong thing. I know I struggle to ignore that feeling myself. I love skylines, 1 in 100 might do something wrong but because I like them so much it means I pay more attention and that 1 will piss me off more than 10 people screwing around in a commodore Stageas though... I've never met a wanker stagea owner.
  3. In that case i'll go aftermarket. Thanks.
  4. Intending on throwing a CarPC in, is it going to be relatively easy for me to throw the audio from the CarPC into the cars stock system or am I going to have to get myself an Amp? Any RCA inputs anywhere?
  5. Better for you, but I'd take all necessary safe steps to miss someones dog personally. But then I'd also attempt to capture the dog or at least burn an image into my mind so the owner can pay.
  6. Damn. I need the backs even darker than they are. I might just get it done. I don't really care about seeing out the back - I've got mirrors knobs keep riling my dog up every time I leave my car. I left it for 5 minutes the other day and some tradie thought it'd be funny to tap on my window...
  7. I'm on the Sunshine Coast Brisbane isn't far, I have to go there for almost everything I do already We're just about to hit our busy period at work (it's already starting) but will try talking to work and see what they can do with scheduled time off.
  8. Does anyone know what % of tint the rear half of the M35 has? Interested in going darker. Does anyone know if QLD has a clause like NSW allowing you to go darker if the car is used for commercial purposes? The car modification PDF does't say so.
  9. Dog fur everywhere. No rear seatbelts (dog). Scratches up the back (my dog is trained to jump out through the back, and will be training him to jump in soon). Scratches over bonnet from chickens. Slobber all over my windows in the back. Every knob in the back that he can get teeth on his gone.
  10. I've mostly had people tell me it looks similar to a volvo but they can't place it. Only once had someone directly call it a Volvo but they weren't surprised at all when I said it wasn't one. Still need to order my VOLVO and 1.3L badges.
  11. Did the dog run onto the road? If so, shoulda grabbed it. Owner would be liable.
  12. Thanks guys. Will do a bit more research and try and think of a project I can do with normal steel rather than Aluminium to start with. btw, in QLD unfortunately.
  13. How the hell do you manage to finish Crysis in 3 hours? What difficulty? It took me a shit load longer than 3 hours I only enjoyed the first part of the game though (jungle areas). I guess I don't play many games. I got sick of paying money for crap. Crysis was the last game I bought.
  14. I find the majority of roads are pretty decent. I don't know why people consider them crap half the time. One of the roads near my place is 100kph. Sure, the road is crap if you drive on it @ 100kph... But then it's not really safe to drive that speed anyway (I have no idea why the limit is 100kph). Country roads don't tend to have the same speed limit scrutiny on them so if a rural/country road feels dodgy then slow down. It's common sense really. Speed limits are limits, not targets. You don't HAVE to hit the limit.
  15. They don't have the legislation in their car - they have a funky book that's so limited its not funny. They do however have a phone number they can ring to clarify situations. Maybe he called it and they told him to book ya? Some cops are a PITA (I deal with them more often than most) but when they make an honest mistake then it's a bit meh - it's a pita but nothing to get worked up over. I know you didn't get worked up at all, you handled it well, but some of the posters in this thread seemed to get more pissed off than you did Grats on getting off though.
  16. G'day guys, Whilst this isn't technically for car fabrication it sort of is. I bought my Stagea to house my dog and I need to build a cage to go in it so I think this is relevant enough to be in here rather than OT. Basically, I've wanted to learn to weld for a long time. My local tafe does a course but it's on Sunday and I work every Sunday and it'd be work load suicide asking for 6 sundays off in a row at this time of the year (aka my hours go from 40-50 down to 10-20). I figure why not start now! Rather than getting someone else to build me it I can buy a crap load of aluminium for practicing and teach myself... The type of cage I'll be building: But it'll need to be able to fit into the back obviously and secured. Anyway, few questions. AFAIK "tig" welding is the best for this type of job, correct? Danger levels in teaching yourself "tig" welding? Are there any good DVD sets out there on "tig" welding? Should I just bin my desire to weld till I can attend the local Tafe?
  17. No idea mate. I'm assuming it the "conventional" type because of this: http://www.torquegas.com.au/html/sequentia..._injection.html Those are the guys who installed my Falcons and mums XR6 systems and since they say they only put SVI into cars newer than 2006 and my falcon is a '99 then I assume whatever is considered conventional is whatever is in my car. I still think it was worth it in my car as it only cost around 1k and even then my Dad paid for it (he offered to, very random) and I've saved far more than 1k. Might do some research into LiLPG and consider getting it in the Stagea but will make sure I go through a decent installer. Now that I'm spending $100 fortnight on fuel (sometimes $200) I am feeling it... Especially when it used to me $40 a fortnight or $80 if I do a ton of driving
  18. Are you serious? You expect each individual cop to remember every individual law and never get it wrong?
  19. My falcon is dual. It switches over by itself. Funnily enough that feature is buggered now I have to start it on petrol and run it for about 2-3 minutes then flick over and even then sometimes the car turns off. I've also had it randomly cut out on the highway before... Installer blamed it on me not getting it serviced so I got it serviced and it did it on the way home. pixel8r, true, I'm probably being unfairly critical Now that I think about it my installer was probably pretty crap. My main problem was that both the LPG and the car were still under their respective warranties but no one could cover the costs... So if the lpg installer buggers something else then I'm not comfortable that they'd fix it under the warranty. The small claims tribunal (we only went for the max we could go for with them) threw it out and said we had to go to the level above because it was to confusing for him.
  20. I'll find out later (aka when I am sober) and if they are and that was a subtle hint that you're willing to part with them then I am interested. I need some in before xmas as the olds are borrowing it to go to WA.
  21. My parents got gas put in their XR6. 3 computers fried. Ford and the gas company refuse to cover any costs. $12,000 out of pocket. I got my falcon converted but there is no way in hell I am letting any lpg installers play around with my stagea especially when it is such an uncommon car and they wont have the experience with htem.

    Seat Belts

Courtesy of one male German Shepherd I now lack rear seat belts. Does anyone know if anyone stocks dog proof seat belts? And people ask me why I want a cage for my stagea...
  23. Just putting in some feedback. I bought one of these. I've never ever seen a dump before nor do I know how to weld but it all appears to be very good quality And it's shiny....
  24. I couldn't go with Shannons as I use my car as a work car as well Right now I am uninsured
  25. 119 to go for the M35. I've got about 9 more email addresses?
