  1. the sidewal is designed to flex and distort. its normal for a tyre to do that (within reason) but when you stretch them, youre not allowing much movement. thus the tyre is 'firmer' and doesnt allow it to..... squirm?
  2. sidewalls are belted also, or strengthened with metal, but probably not as much to allow for flex for comfort, cornering, performance etc and also rim widths.
  3. i dont want to win im trying to explain how it doesnt change its also steel belted so it cant change. only the sidewall angle can change to suit the rim width, yes the sidewall will flex. but thats half the reason why the tyres are filled with air.
  4. mythbusters isnt needed dude. some common sense and thought is all that is needed the inner and outer circumference cant be changed. the inside being the rim size, ie 18". no matter how wide that rim is (within reason) its always 18" the outside, the rolling diameter also remans the same because only the sidewall angle changes. it doesnt get longer, or shorter.
  5. ill post some tonight. no im not available to do bathrooms lol
  6. how can you use pythagorus when youre talking about a circumference? i know you mean the cross section of the wheel/tyre, but you have to remember you cant make a circle smaller or larger unless you add or subtract to it, thus affecting the tyre size, then it would change the size of the sidewall to accomodate the larger/smaller rolling diameter
  7. lol strange huh? smart ass
  8. we are talking about stretching a tyre. so using the same tyre specs and only adjusting the rim width is how to prove that you cant affect rolling diameter
  9. dude, SAME tyre specs. you have shown a 195 and 185 there, of course they will be different.
  10. thanks for the locksmith mate, ill go there in my lunch break! also for those interested, i have a spare remote fob thing (not a blank key or shell) when Hue sells his last one. i forgot i had a spare key with the wreck.
  11. well, using this website is the perfect example. the circumference cant be changed. www.willtheyfit.com put in the EXACT same tyre size into the boxes, just change the rim width and tell me what you get with rolling diameters for both sets of values.
  12. ive been here lurking, but dont have much to say. my bathroom was finally finished on saturday! had a shower without flooding the entire room
  13. have you actually contacted the dealer to see what they say about it? chances are this was a waste of a thread and they will either fix it, or send you somewhere and pay the bill etc. sorry to make this sound rude, but thats what will probably happen lol
  14. its not really complex. you drop the gearbox mount and let it come down around 10-20cm and it will give you enough clearance to get to the top nut of the dump. yes its behind the O2 sensor, which youll need to remove first
  15. i can tell you that mine made zero change to anything. possibly due to the fact its still in my garage lol i would imagine as its a de-cat pipe (and youll be installing the cat after this pipe *wink*) that the note would be more raspy and possibly higher pitched. but it will depend on your existing exhaust and if you have an aftermarket dump pipe
  16. nice! i have one too Alex, the wheels look fantastic mate. good choice
  17. ahhh ok thanks dude, sorry for the misinformation. ill remember matic S when i change my transmission
  18. lol no sorry not THE awesome M35 (one of two)
  19. there is no filter, but there is a strainer in the valve body. its worth probably cleaning any metal bits out of that. but youll need to remove the pan. just remember to check the fluid level after you have filled it. go for a short drive and check it again after.
  20. it cant change the tread, the size is the size. to make a circle smaller, you need to cut a piece of it, or put a crease in it. good luck doing that to a tyre. the rolling diameter is the rolling diameter
  21. it cant affect the rolling diameter. all youre doing is changing the angle of the sidewall. isnt pythagorus' theorum for triangles??
  22. no you didnt at 4.30 i was in leichardt lol there is clearly someone trying to imitate me. not surprised due to the awesomeness i have
  23. im a big fan of jaycar speakers, they always rated pretty high in the tests in audio magazines
  24. Happy Birthday to Leon (commsman) for today!
