from what i've heard and seen, there must be 2 different types of brakes used on the ceffys. as i've compared my standard brakes to that on my mates 180sx and they are different but then again i've heard some ppl have same on thier ceffys to that of s13s even with caliper hand brake while mine was drum. so not sure there. my ceff came out non turbo originally so maybe thats why....i've since upgraded my brakes to r32gtst one. ur best bet would be to take them out and take the old pads down to ur parts place as they will be able to cross check them with the diagrams in the parts books etc...

Hopefully these 2 images make sense. Its of my VIN of when my car used to be a RB20DE, and i'm sure its the same with RB20DET. PS: Just found my reciept, and confirming i only needed 20 rubber washers. gaskets were 29.57 each and washers 42.80 all up plus 10.19 tax coming to 112.15 in total from garry rogers nissan in glen waverley. Also those part numbers mentioned on that FAST screenshot are same with on the reciept.

yeah and u will probally be better off replacing both gaskets, meaning both rocker covers, cos if one is gone i'm sure the other is on its way too. dam i didn't think there were 40... dude do it urself and save the cash, just disconnect all that top L bend inlet crap, undo all those screws/bolts and pop the thing off. clean it up, put new gaskets in the groove that it sits in and put all back together. There is a particular order to put those bolts back in to ensure its evenly done up, was in the skyline workshop manual if remember correctly.
-
i got mine from nissan pretty sure it was around $100 or maybe a little less for both gaskets and all those little rubber gromet washer things (make sure u replace them as they do make a difference).

If u can find specific threads regarding to certain upgrades etc that have been listed let me know the link and whats its for etc and i'll add it in like i have with the RB25 gearbox thread that recently has been discussed. Cheers Ben

good to see you've got some nice results from the chip dangerous_daveo. I seemed to also notice more improvement in the midrange when i had mine.

-
Yeah nice curve, i do like the chips to a degree i had one in my previous skyline and it was alot smoother after i got the chip. interested to see what he charged you for it. i've seen quite a range of prices he has charged.

if its got LSD would be the R200 or if single spinner would be R180 both from s13 or r32 models.

just attempted to update the list from everyones comments so far, let me know if i missed any or anything should be changed.

sounds good, Yup Cefiro, Laurel, skylines and other 4 door imports should be great.
-
Hey i'm down for those dates at this point. Hills or scenery sound good. If this does happen prob be wise we let a few other forums know to get a larger number, Seen quite a few other 4 door both skylines and cefiro owners on NS.

yeah i'm jealous, wish i had a car at 15. should be awesome when finished. wheels would look better with bigger wheels and some more offset, with a flared kit really need the wheels out with it to look the part IMO.
-
yeah we really need 4 door cruise for VIC only ceffy's i seen in VIC in the past year or so are -meggala's greenish rb25 one -greyish coloured stock looking ceffy going into deakin uni -inarks previous black ceffzilla on numerious occations (on freeway, driftnats, chasers) -One of the workers non turbs ones at holford motors -oh and the one out my window.
-
i've heard that apparently the pins are different, eg one has vertical facing pins while the other has horizonal facing pins eg ( = and || ). if they are indeed different and ur current plugs are in decent condition you could always cut and swap the plugs. i actually have a r32 engine loom that i'm putting in soonish on my ceffy motor. when i pull the middle channel cover off i'll confirm if there is a difference.

thread not needed anymore - picked one up for 20 bucks.

i took my ceffy down to Chasers (http://www.chasers.com.au/) for a bit of work when i needed it, nothing drastic, just timing belt, new sump, diff, gearbox and lock bar. they didn't stuff around, had it all done within a day, plus had inarks old ceffy in there at same time. no complaints from me bout them.
