i used a s13 item. thou was a bitch to put on. as it appears my handbrake is an r32 item. had to use a long screwdriver to lever the rubber surounding off to get to the 2 clips holding the spring in place.. but by the sounds of it. other ceffy owners had less issues with it. i'd be keen to hear how they did it....
-
although i had the impression, the fronts should have slightly stiffer springs due to the heavier rb then the sr/ca.
-
yeah in afternoon should be good for me. will probally still be drunk in the morning as its my girlfriends 21st the night b4

I Don't Know What These Are..
BenA31 replied to Silver_R34_GT-T's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i got one in my car when i imported it, used it within a week of owning the car for a bit of fun. my nissan one was a light one, not a smoke one. -
I'll be down if its after uni exams.
-
Might be off track. but i had a very similar problem and it ended up been the air auxiliary valve. Controls the amount of air going in plenum i think which therefore completely screwed up my idle and general running of the car. If you guys are still stuck, give it a quick look.

Awesome dude! B) We gotta get all the VIC 4 doors together for a cruise some time!

mine is a 89 model that had HICAS, now got a lock bar. thou i've heard that on some cars (my mates later model 180sx) that without a hicas bosskit, the indicators won't work. Anyway i got the NON hicas boss kit for a S13, my indicators and horn all work perfectly with no modifications....hope that helps!
-
yeah i got a s13 non hicas boss unit on mine and it worked fine..any pics from ur hoiday of wicked cars?
-
yeah disconnecting battery and turning on anything that will draw power (eg brake light) to use up any existing current in the ecu is prob the easier method to reset it. AAC = auxillary air control, Situated on back of plenum near the firewall.

Issue with vibrating - supposidly spigot bearing?!?
BenA31 replied to BenA31's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just stumbled accross this old thread i started awhile ago. anyhow the problem in the end was a stuffed gearbox. replaced it and the problem has now gone. one day when i get some time i'll pull the old box appart to see what went wrong and see if i can get it fixed up as a spare. -
sure its not rivited/screwed on? i know my sideskirts are screwed on. i highly doubt they use glue to hold them on. u porb just missing a screw or 2 or they are coming loose.
-
PM Sent Bryanfc Yeah doing it yaself is cheaper and great if ya got the time urself. Im pretty sure thou that an engineering cert is a fair bit more then 160 down here in Vic.

has the car had auto to manual conversion? i've heard that if the wiring for the auto isn't changed properly, a Idle/hunting Probelm can occur. Disconnecting the AFM just puts the car into Limp/Safe mode so probally changes the characteristics altogether. But yeah cleaning AFM could be a start, just use electrical contact cleaner. Just don't touch the element and also removing the wire mesh isn't recommended.

Bypassing Clutch Dampener?
BenA31 replied to BenA31's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nice, Cheers for that Bl4cK32. yeah bleeding it sucks ass having to do it in three places. Car is currently at my mechanic (failed on me like 200m away from my mechanic so easier to take to them then home to do myself) Just waiting for them to have a look at it on monday which i'll prob just get them to bypass it. -
Hey, just incured an issue with what i believe it to be, my clutch dampener (bleeding module thingo between the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave) . Anyway as its leaking and screwed. I'm weighing up the options of resealing it/replacing it with 2nd hand unit/ or completely bypassing it. In theory whats it really used for? Would it really make a difference if i bypassed it? (just noticed on my mates 180sx today that it doesn't use one..!) More direct feel? etc Will the master and slave work fine without it? eg different pressure put on each? Cheers Ben PS: Car is a Rb20det Cefiro
