I've "heard" that auto and manual computers are indeed different in the timing department.. for example auto computer changes timing from when car is in nuteral to when d is selected (but changing some wiring can fix this when converting to manual so it tricks the computer to thinking its constantly in d), while in a manual computer timing is constant(?)... don't take my word for this, because i've also read mixed reports that they are the same....either way if you can get them rechipped to what you want....

so whats the go on this so far? i'll lend a hand if need be.

Year model: 1989 Motor: RB20DET Man/Auto: Manual Average k's p/tank: 450ish from memory, although havent filled up a full tank for awhile now with these fuel prices... Hows it driven: Moderate (bit of everything, like a granny to work which is short distance so probably on rich tune there and back - also with a bit of a blast on some weekends etc) Mods: Pod, some crappy restrictive exhaust, mainly stock to say the least. What would you change about it if you could: Throw the rb20 out and use it as a boat anchor and put a 1jz or 1uz in...hmm

Tein Super Street Review
BenA31 replied to n15m0's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
nice review dude. I'm looking at getting some new ones for my ceffy off a mate who is in Japan at the momment (my current JICs are on the way out). Is it just the spring rates that are different in the Aust/Jap variants? -
Suspension Parts For Ceffys(where To Find)
BenA31 replied to danoz's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I think you will find that most the suspention components are same as the S13 models. I recall someone saying that Sydneykid is making up a kit at the momment for the ceffy... -

I Can't Give Trader Feedback! :(
BenA31 replied to Moanie's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
yeah i got same problem...also doing it the same method as Moanie. -
have you tried looking at the specs of the rb30 one? (mounting points and charge etc) might work... UPDATE: checked this with my mate who is building up a rb25/30 and he is fairly sure that the rb30 alternator fits up to the rb20, although the electrical connection is apparently different but can easily be re-wired to fit and in the end is a more cost effective option.

throu roof linning, lol wtf.

if the R33 hubs and calipers have the same fittings as the R32 then yes it will fit. Hope that helps. Not sure on the brake booster, thou i need to upgrade mine also so would like to know aswel.

Upgrading The Cefiro's Brakes Help Me Out
BenA31 replied to 2gceffy's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
if you gonna upgrade ur brakes. don't be cheap and dodgy, get the 5 stud conversion done at same time, redrilling disks etc is more trouble then its worth plus you will find that alot of legit engineers will refuse to do it due to saftey reasons. I went the through the same thing when i did my brake upgrade. as a rough guide this is what i paid for mine...i probably could of got cheaper but was in a rush.. Rear R32 Gtst 5 stud Hubs $200.00 (didn't need fronts as front was already 5 stud when i bought the car, don't ask) R32 Discs and Pads $490.00 (brand new items for front and rear) R32 Gtst Brake Callipers $500.00 (front and rear) Modifying banjo bolt on brake line fitting $Free (took it down to ABS, they cut it shorter slightly and fitted sweet) -
Upgrading The Cefiro's Brakes Help Me Out
BenA31 replied to 2gceffy's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
sorry to be a pain..but do a search in this section. its been covered a number of times... -
I personally don't give a shit if they are real or not, but sorry ur above post has no credibility....according to ur for sale thread u had goin for these rims, u said... therefore the stickers mean nothing... get a pic of the label that is printed on the inside of the rims then people will believe you.

dunno how much help this is, but have you tried making sure it is actually still in the car by checking behind the spare wheel area where the arial actually is and following the ariel cable from there. Its the big fat black one generally. I checked out all my ariel wires awhile ago now cos mine wasn't going up or down (btw they are f**king big arial, looks like a RC car when its all up), just can't recall exactly where it ran, pretty sure it came out under the rear seat and either down the side or middle of the car...
