  4. yea there are 4-5 mistakes in his post.
  5. do you mean like a line drawing?
  6. this noise i called compressor surge. Its caused by nt running a bov or blocking up the one you have. it might eventually f*ck up your turbo. When the Throttle body closes the compressed air comes back and through the turbo. The compressor wheel the chops up the air. Nissan put it there for a reason
  7. No there was no R31 GTR but there was a GTS-R. There werent any GTRs during the DR30 - HR31 era R31 RB30E = 118Kw 247 Nm ( i think nissan used a better exhaust system that gave the extra 4kws ) R31 GTS1 = 130Kw R31 GTS2 = 140KW VL RB30E = 114kw 247 Nm VL turbo RB30ET = 150KW - 296NM Still more than the VT ecotec power output but put out around the same amount of torque youd probably have around 85rwkw
  8. Tools required - Phillips head screwdriver and 10 mm socket and ratchet attachment. This procedure takes about 20 minutes. STEP 1: Disconnect the battery. Turn three plastic clips in front carpeted portion of the boot/trunk to remove this carpeted wall. Clips pop off when turned. STEP 2: Loosen right side bolts in location specified. STEP 3: Loosen left side bolt in location specified. STEP 4: Pry bottom panel out slightly on left side. Be careful not to break anything. Just pull it enough to allow a grip on it in the future steps. STEP 5: Repeat with right side. Pull slightly upwards. You may pry the panel above this one (shown to the left) out a bit if it helps- it just snaps on again. There are four hooks at the top of this piece that locate it at the top. Bolts secure the bottom, but the piece hooks into four slots at the top. ** Remember this for the reinstallation, it is the most difficult part in putting the piece back in correctly. STEP 6: Remove bottom piece (only at bottom of pic, the top piece need not be removed for this install so please ignore it). Put in a safe place. STEP 7: Remove harness from turbo timer box. STEP 8: Plug in harness into location shown behind ignition. STEP 9: Plug in the timer to the harness, and any other wires between harness and timer. STEP 10: Ground the black wire on harness to a location that is unpainted bare metal. The location I chose is shown below and to the left. A 10mm ratchet was used to remove the bolt here and hook up the ground wire. STEP 11: Hook up the battery again. Check your timer's operation now. STEP 12: Choose a mounting location and route your wires in any manner you choose. Secure loose wires that may intrude into the driver footwell. NOTES: Installation of panel is exact opposite of removal. Just pay particular attention to the part about the slots on top of the bottom panel you removed. Line up all four hooks with slots, then push the panel slightly upwards and towards the front of the car. Make sure fit is right before you screw in three bottom bolts in steps (3) and (4).

  16. Nissan's Fairlady models, which had been about since the fifties, took a dramatic new direction in 1969 with the arrival of the Fairlady 240Z. Up until the Z the Fairlady had always been a convertible but now it had not only an elegant fixed head body but a powerful six cylinder engine as well as fully independent suspension. The Z was a massive success and went on to become the biggest selling sports car of all time. Another first for Nissan came in 1970 with the introduction of their first front wheel drive production car, the Datsun Cherry E10 or 100A as it was know in some markets. The E10 combined the 988cc “A” series engine from the B10 mounted transversely over the transmission in a similar style to BMC's Mini of 1959, the main difference being that on the Datsun the engine and transmission didn't share the same oil. The E10 was an immediate success in Europe where cars of this type were already popular. In 1970 a company called Tokyo Kaka merged with Nissan. Tokyo Kaka was specialists in the production and assembly of truck engines.
  17. JetDat this features your model In 1967 the 510 arrived. This was probably one of the best cars Nissan ever produced. While relatively orthodox in it's styling and general concept it, much like the B10 provided the perfect blend of performance, economy and comfort ...and all for a bargain price. The 510 was an instant success in both the USA and Australia and to a lesser degree in Europe, although it has to be said, that in Europe there was a higher number similar cars in competition with the 510. Exports had reached such a level by this time that in 1967 a wharf was built at Hommoku port just for Nissan’s export vehicles. In 1968 the C30 further improved on the 510 and B10 with its rack and pinion steering and cross flow OHC engine. These three Datsuns along with the 130 Cedric heralded the beginning of Datsun imports into the United Kingdom in 1968. Datsun came closer to the top of the leader board again in the East African Safari Rally with a 510 finishing 3rd overall and Datsuns taking six of the top thirteen places. Victory was not far away.
  18. Prince Motor Company had an impressive model line up and a history of engineering excellence and sophisticated cars. Nissan adopted two of Prince Motors car's to their own line-up. These were the Skyline and the Gloria. Prince brought new technical and design skills to Nissan that is reflected in the cars produced after the merger such as the C30, 510 and E10 models. 1966 was also the year that the very first Datsun Sunny arrived. The B10 model was a simple but well engineered car that was received well in both home and export markets. It provided just the right combination of comfort, performance and economy for a small car and in Japan heralded the beginning of what was to be known as the "my car" era, a time when everybody could have their own personal car. The name "Sunny" was actually chosen by the general public after Nissan ran newspaper ads inviting people to name the new model to be launched soon. Nissan received nearly eight and a half million reply postcards in a month! The name Sunny was finally chosen because it fitted the cars image of "bright, lively and youthful". Nissan motor sport success continued with a top placings (5th and 6th) for a pair of 411 Bluebirds in the 1966 East African Safari Rally, the toughest rally in the world. Similar results came in 1967 and 1968 with the 130 Cedric's when only seven cars finished out of ninety three starters (the Cedric came 7th).
