  1. thats a massive power output, what do you have planned for traction?
  2. Hey Mat, Do those 275's fit under the guard or is your suspension sitting high? thats 9.5 wide with what off set? also what tyre have you found to hold down your power if you have?
  3. i second that, my 33 has 235 on front of 18*9.5, looks perfect for the front
  4. double post
  5. i dont think the guage is a very good indicator, when the power fc gives 50degrees, the needle is still under the line its a personal thing, to me its zero load for 3-5mins to let the parts expand and lube up, 50deg is better than 10deg and drive off.. my opinon only..
  6. i doubt id waste much fuel, id rather look after the motor than have it operating under load when its stone cold.. Im never in a rush with my engine cold, why is there so much concern over a short idle time, are you that short of a dollar? The issue is not wasting a dollar here or there on fuel , its the longevity of the motor. After spending a few thousand dollars on a brand new turbo, im not going to take off at the turn of a key. My brother did that in his rotary he had and it blew some seals somwhere, turnt into a smoker.. so in that case it did need warm up time. i take 5mins just to get out the front gate, theres a notable difference after 5mins, the motor is free'd up a bit rather than cold and groggy..
  7. when the engines cold i dont think driving off straight away makes sense, piston to bore clearance is at its greatest, turbo and top end maybe thin films, so i wait till i see 50degrees on the power fc takes about 5 mins, probably takes about 25mins before any big boost.. a warm up is like foreplay, it gets her well lubed before the action.
  8. my guage only work when the engine starts, also my guage sits on that first line when its hot and idling, when cold its sitting on about 6 i think, better off with a gtr dash, those gtst ones look very outdated and average..
  9. much wiser to spend the money on the turbo rather than fancy brand name exhausts, my system is a 3 1/2inch jap system from the wreckers , cost $180 i changed the fujitsubo muffler for a 3inch Xforce oval muffler, 320kw flow with acceptable noise levels and minimal $$$ spent on exhaust = wise choice
  10. id be worried bout looking tuff with my 20inch rims but then getting dragged off by a magna because my extreme hard ride and zero profile tyres wont grip , thats embarrassing right there
  11. i bought mine for about $800 secondhand at wreckers bout 3yrs ago, depending on the spring rates they may be a bit harsh/hard on the bumps, if they are like mine then they are bloody heavy duty compared to stock stuff, the spring thickness on mine are like twice whatever stock is, you'll either hate the firm ride or love it, ive gotten used to mine , make sure they are not leaking
  12. Two places to have a look www.injectorsonline.com www.efihardware.com
  13. well thats a spanner in the works, dam tyres.. the tuner loved it though, much better driver than me , he must of layed some black lines 30-40meters long in second, yeah those SS are very happy in the back end, will be my next car , very good value and competition for me at the drags, they all in the 12-13second bracket. guess ill get some prices on the RE001's then..
  14. got a price for some rear tyres today, thinking about two options here but unsure 265/35 R18's Kumho ku31's for $265 each fitted and balanced 275/35 R18's Kumho ku21's for $165 each fitted and balanced, im liking the idea of 275 wide for traction and looks from the rear.. but can i squeeze them inside the guards without looking like a 4wd? ( guards have been rolled already and coilovers, sitting nice and lowish) current rims are 18X 9.5 30offset
  15. when i had that noise it wasnt the exhaust but the intake manifold gasket. sounded like a strangled cat under the bonnet.
  16. from memory i jacked the front of the engine up to create a slant and used a couple of rachet extention bars ,
  17. lol.. i dont think he wants 30psi.. the later models have a variable vane turbo, maybe one of those would be a good upgrade.. answered my own question.. i wonder if one of the housings could be slapped on a skyline for extra response..maybe discopotato would know so do diesel engines work well with gt30's?
  18. what about a 2.5 diesel turbo on a 2009 nissan navara? what could be done to give it a bit more go without massive expense like computers etc my bro just bought one..
  19. It has held so far 2000kms and i think would last a long time as long as the clutch is out when the power goes down, but i must admit i did accidently not let the clutch out completely once or twice and i thought it was all over cause i could smell the burning pretty bad for bout 5minutes and the pressure in the pedal kind of half went, so i will be getting a NPC 330kw clutch soon,
  20. never had any ticking lifters ever, my bro's old vl turbo had it for first few minutes cold my rb has started developing some faint piston slap when cold, its bound to happen
  21. must of been a wet night, or you had a gt40 on board
  22. do it yourself with some bends from an exhaust shop and use bits of 3inch silicon to clamp at each end, too easy
  23. I would take that twin out asap, its not for street use and its probably starting to stuff up your gearbox/driveline already.. i know my box feels/sounds a bit loosened up by the old 5puck that was in there for a few weeks only... i have an exedy heavy duty, it will be good enough for 260kw, mines held 320kw, but maybe as well get the full face organic from NPC that holds 330kw
  24. was it a professional rebuild? forged pistons? were the lifters reconditioned/checked?
