  1. Ok - now back from Melbourne. Monday was a killer - real hot. Walked around CBD attempting not to get run over by the trams. Saw a couple of imports - 2 x R33 coupes, 1 x R32, 1 x S13. Also saw some horrible units - Lancer GXi or something with the full Evo bodykit, complete with plastic wheel trims. Tuesday was busy with work all day, but spotted a black R33 25T outside the hotel. Entertainment for the night was watching parking attempts in Little Bourke St from a restraunt. Have to say the imports stand out like a sore thumb from the other cars... Nice town, will be back for a proper holiday sometime soon! Only I think I'll give the Melbourne airport a miss - took nearly as long to get through customs etc than it did to fly over there G
  2. Yip, would be a mission. I've seen a 25det head and a 20det head side by side and there is quite a bit different between the two, port size is very noticable.
  3. Ok, I'm over in Melbourne for a work thing at the end of this month...whats the best sights / activities I can do in a day in the CBD? Never been to Melbourne before! GW
  4. lol! Vegas is short for "Rotovegas" which is a local nickname for Roturoa. It's a prime site, lots of geothermal activity (geysers, boiling mud, hot pools, beautiful lakes, fishing etc) one of the biggest tourist attractions in NZ. It's just got lots of accomodation, lots to do and is pretty good driving distance for most of us in the North Island - about 3 hours from Auckland, maybe 4 from Wellington. If any of you guys make it over to NZ, put Rotorua in your list of places to go...though naturally if you know where to go you can see some of the best mud pools / thermal activity for free rather than forking out $$$ everywhere!
  5. I've had a look back through some old pictures I have, Reece has been developing the car over quite a long period of time. It grew out of his old R33 See the bottom pictures here - Winter street meet 2000 __________________________ The top left two picture show the 9.4 run at the idrag nats 2002 where he split the block...man that was an awesome run to watch! Also middle row left, and bottom row right. A prize for anyone who can spot Ketzel from High Octane lurking in one of the other pictures! Idrag nats here GW
  6. Had the R33 25t for 2.5 years now, and before that had the R32 GTS-t for just under 4 years prior to that...does that make me the ye olde and crusty winner?
  7. Meggala's site has a heap of part numbers on it. GW
  8. If you guys want to build onto the FAQ there is one already started...here
  9. Ah Ok, there were about 30 of those made, they were made by Autech (same people who make the Stagea). N/A RB26 with auto only, from memory they were dark green.
  10. Hey come over to the shakey isles - got a few here! 3. Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG 5. Honda Integra Type-R (the real one) <--- see the odd one here or there, the civic type R even less common...dont wan't either of those! 9. Lexus IS430 <--- very nice, I think I used to park next to one (had a car park in a really flash car park building earlier this year) I'm pretty sure it was that model, had bloody huge wheels!
  11. There is a R32 GTS-4 that has been in the 11's, used to be a daily driver by Rob from WAR. Chock-o-block with HKS gear.
  12. Can't fit fishing rods in a 2 door. Can also fit a bike on the back seat if I take the wheels off!
  13. Easy! I live in a rural area, lots of open roads, no traffic lights / intersections or stop start driving...plus a extra light foot by habit from owning v8's. [edit - those numbers were from my old R32 GTS-t, not my current R33 25T] Glad it's useful Cheers, GW
  14. Unless your ECU is aftermarket programmable, or has had a custom EPROM created for it by your tuner, they could not have made no changes to your ECU. They may have mucked around with plug gaps and timing. For a factory ECU, a reset is beneficial. GW
  15. Doh! In that table I mis-typed the last 32 - should be 33.
  16. Bit hard to explain - I've got a diagram online. You measure between two pins... http://www.powerlink.co.nz/~graeme/faq/30.html Cheers, GW
  17. 22 is the steering angle sensor - have you replaced your steering wheel with an aftermarket one? If so you will need a HICAS boss kit. It's also not unheard of for the steering angle sensor to crap out either. The sensor is in your steering column. 32 is the engine speed signal not present - I don't know where the signal comes from in the R33 Hicas info here
  18. R33 fusebox: http://www.powerlink.co.nz/~graeme/faq/26.html
  19. I have some I can scan - whats your email and what angles do you want? GW
  20. I've struggled through the copy of the R32 sales brochure I have, (and I can't read Japanese!) ...to me it looks like HICAS is standard equipment to all turbo R32's as well as the type s N/A.
  21. The current version of The Sky is the Limit can be download from a couple of places: My site Meggala's site It is very much a work in progress, along with the Skyline FAQ I've got a fairly big update to the FAQ in the pipeline. Cheers, GW
  22. Yip - another garden path The GTS-t, type M GTS-t, type S GTS all have HICAS.
  23. Things to looks for: Type M has the 16 x 6.5 alloy wheels, the non type m GTS-t has steel wheels with plastic trims (I've also seen them with the GTS alloys, but not all that many) Type M has what I call the "sports" type steering wheel, the plain GTS-t has a different steering wheel. Type M has a different brake package (a bit bigger) most obvious on the rear. The engine spec is identical. There are plenty of options available that could be added: active spoilers, cruise control....etc I've attached an info sheet with a few pictures etc of the bits talked about above. GW
  24. This is a program I've had for a while but never had the time to experiment with. A guy in Japan has developed a program to write the ROMs for a range of Nissan ECU's including the R32. The program can be download from here You will need Japanese fonts installed, and the ability to unpack lhz files (man it's been a few years since I saw those!) The download is about 2 meg. I'm not sure what version is on that page, but the authors page is down (he had an english page and version which I DL'd about a year ago) Anyway, it's interesting to much around with
  25. Yip - all good stuff. My first mod on my totally stock R33 was a boost controller, followed by a K&N and turbo back exhaust (though yours already has a good exhaust thus saving a bit of coin!) I have also spent a fair bit of money on dyno and workshop time to ensure everything was A-OK and operating at it's peak, eg changing the timing, plug gap, plugs on a dyno. My next mod (if I don't trade the car on something else) will be a front mount followed by a ECU. Hope you enjoy your new beast! GW
