  1. Darren, I have had a bosch o40 or 044( cant remember) for many years now ( in fact martin d did an artical in hpi on how to do a in tank fit using our car as guinea pig for fit / photo's_at tilbrook's ).These are quite good pumps, we have had no trouble however they are on the noisy side with no music pumin! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  2. CORNER WEIGHTING.. To all, any company that sets up race and rally cars should be able to do this for you.I'm in adelaide and have had my car done several years ago ,and have it redone and adjust suspension height to allow for spring sag etc at least once a year.Makes for a very well balanced car!!! P.S.> Had mine done by MANTA racing/ Steve Cramp... Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  3. Re- Manta Racing To all, Yes i have had Steve do lots of work on our ser 11, and can highly recomend the work he carried out.... Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  4. As far as i know its same as last year.See you there sunday... Regards, SKYLNE (Kym)... B)
  5. Totally agree with you Guy (4dr sleeper ), if your going to spend your hard earned money do the job properly and do it once.If you dont have enough funds save for it you wont regret it!I made the mistake of doing it twice nearly 8yrs ago and the big difference was having a dump pipe and high flow race cat installed, its where the biggest advantage is to be gained for sure!!! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  6. Sorry to make a fool of myself , i didnt see the second page of postings, hence i didnt know you have converted! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  7. Be for you get all carried away on those engine mods what about doing something about making it all hook up and drive harder.Got you attention- good, get the trans rebuilt if your serious about 1. going fast 2. staying with the auto.Get it rebuilt with better clutch packs and stage three shift kit and good oil,a higher stall convertor, and a trans cooler.ALL this needs to be done proir to any thing else or your just wasting your money, you can have all the power in the world but if you cant step on the loud pedal at the correct revs for the turbo and not have it hook up and drive hard and shift hard thru all gears your just not going to cut a good time.I would always prefer to drive an under powered car that will lay everything you have got on the track than some fancy big hp mother that's just going to wheelspin thru a slow 60 ft and beyond. Thtat's my 2c worth, hope it may help... Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  8. Dump the 18's get some sticky street tyres on some 16's,select correct tyre pressures, change over your susp for some 90/10 's pedders, take the spare and any thing else loose out of the car,i would lightly slip the clutch on initial drop, short change into second, dont drive to limiter in 2nd then give it all you have got in 3rd and hang on,drop into 4th if you need it.The biggest mistake every one makes is using too much 1st and 2nd gear these only result in excessive wheelspin- hence your slow 60ft times,3rd gear is the one that does the driving and you must get up into it as soon as posible! Anyhow good luck with your future racing (remember is not the out right hp but the way in which you hook up! ) Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  9. 16. CUBES, BE thankfull you only paid $80,i bought one several years ago for my brother inlaw(wingfield car) and paid $170,then nearly 12 mnths later paid $250 for mine and have since bought the gibson "factory" car as well, and also am looking to buy the gio car so i have the set! BUT dont get rid of the wingfeid car as a friend of mine has seen them on e-bay in the last week for more than $500.Good investment... Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B)
  17. TO ALL, A little while ago i read either on s.a. post or somewhere else that sydney kid and co. were coming here to adelaide this weekend to race in the improved production series. What this means we can catch up with the professor of every thing SKYLINE and get to see some skylines circuit race as well. Now can anybody remember reading this and can confirm at all?Secondly if it is the case is anybody going to go out to watch,i will go but cant go untill around lunch time as my youngest plays tennis on sat mornings Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... B) To Guy,and all those who turned up on sun i say a big thank you, it was indeed a great day and some tasty cars to perve on.I have some great cruise courses that we have used over the years with the svd boys so we might get round to doing some of those in the better weather(but would be nice to have some kw's to keep up) To Geoff (and Ronda {SPELLING} it was great to meet you and must hook up again soon. LASTLY lets make sure we can keep having functions like sunday at each others houses during the good weather so we can personalise a bit more ,cause the bonding only leads to stronger friendships and makes us a stronger forum community!
  18. Thirtythree, I dont think it will make much difference to the over all volume of sound, however probably will give a deeper throaty growl on full song! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)...
  19. Thirtythree-II, I got pulled over several years ago after just leaving my wifes work place and got checked for excessive noise running the same system as you except i had a dump pipe and race cat,and my reading came in 3db under what the sgt had on his form that was supposed to be the spec's for a ser II.( I might add that a stationary test like i had to perform doesnt comply with the adr's that stipulate that the vehicle must drive past a test device at a steady 60km's per hr in 4th gear and the the test device must be placed at 45 degrees to the path of the vehicle and be 'x' no of meters away from it! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)...
  20. To ALL, I've owned our '33 for 8yrs now,and in the first instance lowered it to approx. 350 mm and dislogded a few teeth, the wife and kids thought it looked kool but it didnt drive very nice.So i set about replacing my original fixed whiteline sway bars(the 1st to have them in aus as i sent them to whiteline to make their 1st ever set!) with the adj ones a fr camber/caster kit,rr double camber kit, removed the hicas and made my own lock bar,and added a set of bilstein coil overs. You cannot beleive the difference it made i just could not stop smiling!I will give you some advice dont be a cheap arse when it comes to suspension, brake pads,or the quality of tyres you use and buy as you will only get out of a car what your prepared to put in!!! And to those who mock the use of coil overs for street use, just think about what will you do when your lowered suspension 'settles' as SK said, are you going to go out and buy again- i think not!So the obvious advantage the coil overs have is you can wind them back up to correct any sagging that naturally occurs. The other great adv to me is i can have my car corner weighted on scales to allow for driver weight etc.,and end up with a beautifully balanced car that is a joy to drive... Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)....
  21. To ALL, It was noted several years ago that a high flow cat will flow exactly the same as a race pipe, this was tested by Martin Donnon in zoom and done courtesy of someones flow bench here in adelaide.FOOD for thought! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... :werd:
  22. It's a big no-no here in S.A. no window tinting allowed on side windows at all and only a light tint on rear and rear quarter windows.Regency pk checking center deems it silly to follow any of the nationalised rules or adr's and dictate what they want and when they want it. Any one coming to S.A. to live find out the hard way when the submit their cars for id checks re- transfer of reg to s.a. and they're handed a razor blade and asked to remove the tint before reg will be granted,(Another joy to living in the heaviest policed state in aust.) Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... :soap:
  23. The rims were there as stated, but the sale did say it was open at 9.0 am so we got there at 8.45 to have a look as you would!(suppose thats one of the advantages of starting work at 5.0 am 7 days a week!!!) REGARDS, SKYLINE (KYM)
  24. Place in melb-i think its called quantam suspension(or something very similar) do most after market shock rebuilds and or modifications. Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)...
