Change to go-karting event this Saturday!!!
skyline replied to Nightcrawler's topic in South Australia
Andrew, and others, Why dont you try Villies after for a meal, close by cheap, and shouldn't be a problem with parking at that time of the nite! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... :headspin: -
That could well be the case, but not all of us run shitty japenese suspension, and why wouldnt you question an inspector at regency?I would want to know if he knows what he's talking about and an answer so the problem could be resolved! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)..

To ALL. Some of the euro up market cars come fitted with coilovers, however two that do come to mind are the ss bullet roadster, and the dodge viper both are registered in aust after complying with our adr's.The trouble with regency is they tell you that and every one believes them and no one challenges them to be shown the particular adr that states that adjustable suspension is illegal. What i can tell you is that welding, drilling to lock your suspension is in fact illegal and regency are breaking the law in telling you to do so!Also what are you to do when your springs sag after about 15 months and you go below the legal ride height- with conventional susp you would have to throw it away however with coil overs you can reset the ride height back to your original settings. This also has advantages when corner weighting your car for perfect handling and balance-you adj the corners of you car to differerent heights to produce a more even weight on each corner(incl allowing for the drivers weight in the drivers seat!)Every engineer ive seen interviewed has stated that it does comply with the adr's,regency is simply trying to bluff you because that's what tim ireland wants. Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)... :bs!:
-
To popeye and others, I will repeat it again-adjustable coilover suspension is perfectly legal. Many cars come to aust. with adj suspension ,pass the adr's and get registered. Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)...
-
To ALL, Arent std wheels 16" and therefore 18" would be legal provided the correct offset and tyre size is used, and dont start up the debate about adj suspension---adj coil over suspension is legal by the adr's and many cars come with them std and are adr approved and hence registerable! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)....

Of course a stocker is welcome, ive run mine several times before modifying it (its a good idea to get a base figure) and as for the price im not sure butgoing on last years prices i think members got there runs for $20 and non members for $25/30 so i would asume this year would be the same however i will check and repost asap. Deluxe, The pic's dont do the wing real justice as it does indeed look better in the flesh, and you have to use your imagination as to what it would look like without the center mount wing sitting over the top of it.Also of note is that wally has built a drain system in the under side of the wing so excess water from rain or washing can escape-- but this is typical of wally's attention to detail. As for the front bar no i dont hve any photo's yet as we have only had a couple of fitting sessions to sort out the final gaps etc.,so you will have to go down to see wally or phone him... Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)....
-
Deluxe, I do have a couple of photos somewhere on the computer ,if i can find them i will post them for you.Wally does have a 400 style front bar available but not in the true #400 style i have modified it to make it more effective aerodynamically and look better at the same time,i think wally has these available now,the last time i spoke to him mine was still curing in the mould. Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)....
-
To DELUXE, I have a mould of a low style drift wing available for all '33 models, comes equiped with led brake light and the overall look is stealth but of quality and good finish. If you would like to find out more ring Wally Silins at Silins Special Vehicles at lonsdale im sure he will be more than willing to help you out with a price for supply/supply,fit/supply,paint,fit ... Regards, SKYLINE(kym)... :headspin:

I'm sorry for you and any of your fellow younger mates, cause if you think the police dont bother reading these and many other forums your badly mistaken. The police have been known to have infiltrated several car clubs in adelaide, and has already shut one club down with multiple defects and arrests!! Regards, SKYLINE (Kym)

Drag Suspension Setup??
skyline replied to Zian Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
To ALL, I dont profess to much about susp setups for gtr's,however the best way to get a gts-t off the line is to run std springs and ride height, use std rear shocks and have your front shocks converted by peders to 90/10's.This set gets the nose in the air and makes the arse squat fairly hard.I witnessed Kier Wilson's 8.8 sec run in his gtr and it had the front wheels off the ground it was an exceptional run! Regards, SKYLINE(Kym)... -
Lochlan, Speaking of dyno days i have the trophy(highest reading on the day) for the last svd dyno day at Tilbrooks at home,so one day we will have to catch up.Are you going to the 4,6 and rotors i can bring it with me? Regards, SKYLINE(Kym)... :headspin: PS. Sorry to jump on this post like this!

Guy(and Di), Yeh, the stiff suspension has a great effect on large boobs,Sue and i mapped a cruise once out towards Mannum for svd and i made her drive topless on the way back(it was great!)My only complaint with Di is she is always covered up completely--- if you've got flaunt it!!!(HINT!) Regards, SKYLINE(Kym).... :aroused:

Nozila, Unfortunately my car is off the road with an engine rebuild at the moment(and wont be back for several more months)However i can tell you without any hesitation at all that the whiteline package is as good as you will get,i have the complete package on a serII96 r33 and it drives like its on rails, its also got their latest offering in the adj swaybars, the only thing i didnt put on it was the pinapples as i didnt want to transmit too much drive train noise thru the shell.I will add that it doesnt pay to dump the car too low as this does affect the ride quality( ie thats not saying dont lower it,just not too much!)Also of note is that i dont run the 4whl steering anymore and this makes a big difference as well. Hope this will help in your decision making,if i can be of any more assistance just reply.... Regards, SKYLINE(Kym)......
-
To ALL, Best suspension places in s.a. are k.& a. motor sport at greenfields,or manta racing at richmond. The best parts supplier of whiteline is thru julie crafter at car torque, all numbers and addresses in ph book. Regards, SKYLINE(Kym)... :headspin:

Tim, Just a quick word of encouragement to you and for you to pass onto damians parents.Going back many years ago i was seperated from my 1st wife when she and a girlfriend headed off to melb. for a holiday and had a horrific crash near tailem bend, sue was killed in the accident brought back to life by a passing motorist(a nurse) taken to tailem bend hosp stabilised then flown into r.a.h.had many ops spent3mths in coma.Several times i was called in to pay my last respects as they didnt think she would get thru the nite. However the upshot was she made a recovery after many hard mths of physio etc went on too re marry drive a car etc and live a fairly normal life except for the physical limitations that the perminate damage did(eg not being able to lift her left arm above shoulder height) So Tim and others you can NEVER say NEVER. Regards. SKYLINE>(Kym)....
