I would think as you have suggested - but no experience with this kind of thing, worst case scenario is repainting the boot lid so I suggest see what else gets suggested and give it a go. Good luck.

Currently also looking into the BMW E36 Clock DIN, similar design, will be getting one today to try out and let people know how it goes. Im looking into using one of these from an E36 BMW. Fits in DIN slot. Replace the clock with the boost gauge and it will all look tidy.

Sorry, my eyelids are staying, but I have a dolphin grill that might start floating soon.

Its the best option so far, just putting it out there incase there is something better/easier.
