I was surprised to read the c63 and TT RS are pretty close to the R35 in the 80-120 comparison, but behind in pretty much everything else.

Buying A Unique Car - Insurance & Finance
scarf replied to GTR R35's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I got insurance through Just Cars for my 370gt, but didn't really do much shopping round. Westpac gave me the loan, but I had to put a 20% deposit on the car. If your going through a dealer they'll be able to adjust the figures making it appear you put down 20% and are borrowing 80% of car value. But in reality you'll borrow 100%. -

V36 - Another Tv Tuner Question

so good to see things in english. So its operated from the remote, which makes the steering wheel and dash controls obsolete? -
If you have the money to buy, insure and maintain the mx5 and the 180, then I would buy both at the same time. I wouldn't spend any money on the R33- put the 5K toward the above cars.

The salesman told me it was a charger. mental note taken, note not to believe salesmen

Sorry no solution, but Ive also had the low key battery sign on for more than a couple of weeks now. I've been charging it each time I'm in the car for the 2 weeks and it makes no diff.

You should have put in the wife and kids in the list as well for putting up with your addiction (because in some way we all are appreciative of good motoring).

I'm sure it will look better than your other R34s. I had a feeling you were going to get an R35. Nice surprise.

Terry have you posted pics of the N1 somewhere?

Have to say your video's are always entertaining to watch. Sounds like you've had some track time with the R35 and haven't been as bored as you thought you would be?

Black R35 and green lambo having some fun around sydney airport heading towards hurstville. A white wrx sti joined in for a short time, but gave up.

It looks like bmw have figured out the benefits of turbo charging as almost everything in their line-up is turbo charged now. The new TT V8 M5 is a screamer with a dsg as good as the R35. The 2014 M3 will appear to resolve many of the issues with the current M3. Great times ahead for motoring enthusiasts.

I came from a highly modded 2004 wrx. Great car, but the gearbox's are the weak link. They are fairly plain looking in the inside and a bit tin-like. Regarding their performance - unless you launch a wrx from 6000rpm, it wont get near the skyline from a start. They just bog down and go nowhere quick. Unless you want the gearbox to break, you won't end up doing many high rpm launches. Once in gear and rolling they do go very well once above 3500rpm (thats with the 2L, and maybe 500rpm less with the 2.5L). Regarding fuel economy- the wrx drinks fuel just as much as the 350gt. If you want to mod the car, I'd go the wrx, as it ends up being much cheaper. If you are keeping them stock, then the 350gt.

bet you they'll loose their no claim bonus -
You really need to test drive a 7spd to see if it has the mentioned issues. The one I got thankfully is smooth during traffic in auto mode. if this is your main concern, go for the 5spd, have piece of mind, and more money in your pocket.

a fair few people on myg37.com have had issues with the 7spd. Thankfully I haven't and feel it works well. I like using the paddles, so keep it in sports mode a lot of the time. You dont have to shift down if you dont want to as it does this automatically - good for lazy people when cruising to a stop. Rev-matching is a cool thing.
