I just feel that the take off from stand still is quite slow. It's like you either rev until about 3500-4000 rpm before changing to 2nd or you change to 2nd early and accelerate from there. In other words, I feel that the 1st gear is having a very high gear ratio. I timed a 0-100 sprint last night and I got about 6 seconds ish.. which is what the factory spec says so the car is working normally. Sorry if I don't quite know how to explain this.

Check out Southern Special Vehicles (SSV) in Oakleigh down in SE area. 2 weeks ago when I went to pick up my V35 I saw a white R33 there. Pretty clean. Best to give them a call and ask if they have any R33 for sale.

ok to be it simple for you, what is the speed in your speedometer when you are in 1st gear doing 2500 rpm? No this is my third manual car.

Hi all, I just got myself an 03 V35 6 speed manual coupe. The car is fantastic but I just want to know what's the speed that you get up to in 1st gear at around 2500 rpm? The reason I'm asking is because I feel there is not much pull in 1st gear in normal driving i.e shifting at around 2000-2500 rpm and not redlining. It's like as soon as you got the car rolling in 1st then it's time to grab 2nd, else you won't go anywhere quicker than say 30kph. I'm thinking maybe this is just me.. but just thought I'd get some input from you boys. Cheers

There is a turbo V35 going for sale in carsales. HERE. Very nicely done.. going for 45k. Perhaps you can get some ideas from there.

I would say for that level of mods, 30k sounds about right. Yes there are a few V35 going for really cheap on carsales, saw one going for 20k but a mate went to check it and it was a lemon. I myself wouldn't mind paying a little bit more for a properly good condition car. I am sure many people are. Good luck with the sales.

Thanks guys! I have been really happy with the car so far. I think it's probably the best car you can buy for under 30k. I just have one thing to ask you guys. For those V35s that come with the pop up LCD, when you first pop the LCD, what is the initial screen? My initial screen shows "PIT" and some jap characters. I don't understand what those jap characters are telling me but looks like it's asking me to service or something?

20 years ago, our freeways speed limits were 100kph. Back then, most cars did not have air bags, ABS, VDC, BA etc etc.. Now 20 years ahead, our cars are much much much safer, and yet the speed is still the same at 100kph?!
