  1. you're a hard man: $75 regards
  2. $50; I'll pay for postage.
  3. hi BB, yep, Grahame is a genuine bloke and I was lucky to have met up with him. once he knew what I was looking for he latched on to it; the good thing about dealing with him is that there is never any pressure to rush into a deal, which really suited me. I'm very happy with the car, great to have another but still miss the stolen one. 3m JPY is not that uncommon now for collectable r32 GTRs; Grahame said that the good ones are going into collections so prices are rising. thanks again for your good advice when I was first thinking of going to Japan to hunt for a car. regards
  4. I didn't want a rebuilt car and there are plenty of stories of good 'cheap' r32 here in Aus, but when you actually look at them; if they are cheap, they are rubbish. good, unmodded, low km [-30k km] are not easy to find and like I said, when I did, they were $35k-ish. yes, this is a genuine mileage car. one owner with uninterupted service history [with receipts for each service]in original logbook. it might seem like a long drawn out process but it's a bit of fun, and, if you are willing to wait, you can get the car you want rather than the one that is just sitting in the "CAR SALES" yard; which is rarely exactly what you want. anyway, I guess it's horses for courses, in the end I'm happy enough. I hope I didn't scare you off importing!?..
  5. hi I have just imported using KIWI; had no dramas, the cars are electronically inspected on and off. cost; about $800 for a GTR r-32 to Brizzy. regards
  6. hi, after having an empty space where my stolen GTR used to sit for 6 months, I now have my new 1992 R32 GTR snuggly parked. now complied, registerd and heavily "insured", just in case another lowlife decides he needs the car more than I!!. I know there are plenty of 'bad experience' stories of individuals importing a car themselves, but I'm glad went through the exercise. firstly, it was a bit of fun and secondly, and more importantly, I got the car that I wanted at a fair price, and a better price than I could have got, if I had gone through a dealer. here are some details of the process I went through. once I had decided to buy another GTR I started looking here in Aus for the car that met my requirements: >1992, midnight blue, less than 30000km [genuine], grade '4+' body, grade 'B+' interior; and finally, absolutely stock with no smash history. after hunting around for a month it became apparent that I would not get a car like this here for less than $35k; especially seeing as I wanted the midnigt blue colour. it became clear [after getting good, often blunt [beer baron] advice from some knowledgable SAU forum posters] that I would have to do a fair bit of the searching myself. anyway i finished up flying to Japan where I met a guy [Grahame] from a company called Asian Way who I 'clicked' with. he helped with the auction sites to search. eventually, [2 months] the car that i now have in the garage came up. with Grahame's help I set an upper $$ limit for the car and was able to get buy it. the import process went smoothly but not without concern for the security of the car, the system gives plenty of oportunity for damage/theft of parts etc. luckily, I had no dramas. compliancing was also painless/straight forward: done by Auto Import Compliance at Underwood in Brizzy; a good bunch of blokes and efficient. Costs: [the subject dear to most hearts] in Au$s rounded off to nearest $100. car auction price........18000 [JPY at 97} Aaian Way................ 1000 Aus shipping agent, GST, duty ................ 5000 compliance............... 2200 tyres, roadworthy, re-gas A/C, rego....... 1500 Total: ............................. 27700. + 850 insurance [shannons] I reckon this is a cheap car; it is in exceptional condition and drives like new. an optioned up Tiida costs more than this. also, I believe the good examples of the GTR will hold their value. I'm not saying the way i did it is for everyone, but it worked out for me. regards to all adventurous importers
  7. Dawn Crutch low has a history of making rediculous statements regarding the use of the BWCP. she has difficulty with car enthusiasts gathering anywhere, anytime. I've been going to the BWCP on Sat nights for 6 yrs and considering the amount of cars that turn up there, it's pretty tame. just car lovers having a good time. the odd burnout and roadworthy breach issued is about the strength of it. the police have the situation well in hand from what I see there; no need for a crusading council 'bulldog' to use the "hoon" bandwagon to get her face in the newspaper. I live on the northern Gold Coast and there are more burnouts here on Sat nights than I ever saw at BWCP; the tyre marks are here for all to see. my point is that ; unless we are breaking the law, car enthusiasts have as much right as any other group/visitor to the BWCP.
  8. I didn't see the councillor; but there was a bulldog there sitting on a chair; it's face all screwed up; looked like it had a migrain headache. perhaps that was the councillor!!.
  9. what happened to the blue GTR?
  10. hi, cool 'module' Ryan. were the 33's special imports to the US, or were they sold through Nissan [new car] dealerships?. I spend a fair amount of time in the US [latest trip, 6 months last year], but haven't seen a R32, R33 or a 34 on the road. regards
  11. hi, I generally go to the BroardWater Car Park [opersite Australia Fair shoping cantre] on Sat night around 8-9-10 PM. usually plenty of cars, and owners to talk to. although i went last night and the entrance was blocked with road barriers; not sure what is going on there. some cars [just a few] just parked along the roadside outside the BWCP and had a chat. regards
  12. I have been through the import exercise and you can't import a genuine, low km , original GTR r32 in good condition for 20k. they are bringing that, and more, at auction in Japan. so add on all the import costs, compliance, etc and you will be pushing 27k +.
  13. hi, original [absolutely no mods], quality [genuine low km] GTR r32 are rare now and should fetch a good price. when I was trying to buy one, January, there were several for sale in the mid 30k range. there was a V spec 32 for 37k, so look/wait [if you are not desperate] for the buyer who wants a good 32 and is willing to pay, believe me, there are plenty of people out there who would like to own one. there are GTR 32 in crap condition selling for 18k. good luck anyway. regards
  14. hi, sorry to hear this story, unfortunately it is pretty common going by the responses to your post. seems like sporting venues are hotspots where the dregs of society gather to cause grief, financial stress and hardship to those who take pride in their vehicles. I had my GTR stolen from the car park of the local squash courts and a friend had his stolen from the community fitness centre. mindless cunz, is what we're dealing with, and very unlikely they will be caught. the rotten part is the 'keying' and other panel damage;after breaking a window and stealing important stuff, it takes a sick/mean bast*** to then try to cause more grief. hang-em-high..!! good luck with the cost of fixing it all up. regards
  15. top shelf; been well cared for, obviously. thanks for the info.
  16. hi, beaut car, my favourite colour too. it looks like a well preserved example, what year, and how many Ks has it done?. I'd leave the skirts as standard; the beauty in the GTR-r32 for me, is that understated, tough looking [businesslike], and muscled design. I rekon extra body work spoils this. anyway, the car has to please you first. thanks for the pics regards
  17. hi, best post so far on this topic!. regards
  18. let's not get the 'soul' of a car confused with the 'ego' of the owners' of supercars. owners' that enjoy their cars' talk of; performance and pride of ownership; not how much soul their cars have. " MY CAR HAS MORE SOUL THAN YOURS!!"; yeah right. according to motoring journalists [like that numbnut from Garage 419, Mr Angry] the GTR can't join the supercar club because it is quote, "ugly", "unquote", no other reason given. good objective writing!!. all the wannabes that are moaning about the 35 being too easy to drive should; get in and take the car to it's limit. all cars have a 'limit', once the limit is reached perhaps the 35 will 'edge' out the 'edgiest', like all machines, push it hard enough and serious injuries will be the best any dreamer can hope for!!. that should be 'edgy' enough.
  19. hi RH, thanks for your response. I'll post further.
  20. hi , just for info; the blank keys bought from Nissan look similar but are not identical to the original key. the original GTR-r32 keys have; a. the letters 'GT' counter sunk, and b. the letter 'R' has a fine raised border encasing the 'R'. the letters 'GT' and 'R' on the replacement keys are smooth. regards
  21. hi sorry to hear the theft/attempted theft epidemic is still out here. my GTR went last Oct, still not recovered. I have mentioned it on another forum with no results; but I reckon it's time to have a register of stolen Skylines here on the SAU QLD site. somewhere specific where owners of stolen veh can post the details of their car. that way, any of us who are 'suspicious' of a new car in our area, can quickly go to a specific site to check: and then, if necessary contact the owner. I know some are wrecked for parts but according to police many are 'rebirthed' to be driven: even if only a small percentage are identified and returned using information on this proposed forum, it would serve a purpose. the least of which would be to rid the streets [for a while] of some of the lowlife earning a living stealing Skylines. any comments from Forum officials on this subject?. regards
  22. hi, please help with this one : BNR32 - 222884. thanks/regards
  23. If that's the best Mr Angry can come up with, may I suggest he be renamed Mr Bambi. can you imagine Nissan giving a numbnut like that a test drive...I don't think so!.
  24. HI, my IA took 2 weeks, so wouldn't get too worried yet. has your RAWS followed up the application to see if there is a problem?. I don't know storage fee rates but, good luck. regards
  25. hi, it's a sick feeling in the guts when you come back to where you parked and see an empty space. I had my GTR stolen last october and remember it well. the police caught the guy that stole mine but the car has never been found; hope you have better luck and the car is returned in reasonable nick. with so many Skylines being stolen perhaps it's time to have a page dedicated [on this forum] to listing all cars stolen belonging to SAU members'. a simple format including; car description/distinguishing marks/features, where/when stolen etc, may help get some of the car thieving lowlife off the streets and have the cars returned to the rightful owners'. being members of the Skyline community we naturally notice new cars [or even extra cheap Skyline parts]in our areas and may even be able to recognise suspicious 'ownership' in certain cases. this way we could cast a pretty wide net and anyone who sees or hears about a 'questionable' car could quickly check out the "stolen list". I reckon it is time we became proactive as club members' and send a message to any car thief who targets a Skyline that he/she is taking a bigger risk than usual, of being caught. just an idea, let's kick it around and see if is do-able!!. regards
