  1. I have imported two cars [not toyota] and another member of our family imported a toyota about three yrs ago. personally, I cant see the value in this any more, with the $AU at 70-ish yen and the delay/availability problems you will have getting spares for 'exotic' vehicles is a real pain. insurance companies also baulked and wanted extra cash to cover the expence of importing accident repair parts. I could see the value when the $AU was around 100JPY, and it seems to be clawing it's way back recently. anyway good luck with this.
  2. I was going to say 'nice', but will think of another word for obvious reasons. 'cool' seems apropriate because you have ended up with a car that doesn't go over the top with 'extras'. I like that you have not gone overboard with the height [looks standard], I reckon GTRs look better at, or about factory height. anyway, I reckon this is one of the best looking 32s I've seen on here. did you say what the mods cost?.
  3. age and condition determines the price of a secondhand car; not the fact that a new model is on the market. as we know, in rare cases, if a car gains 'classic' status they are worth much more than the newer models. anyway, to your point, the longer you wait, the cheaper your R34 should be.
  4. drawing= toadfish any advance on the toady??.
  5. good, the arseholes deserve to lose everything. let them know how it feels for someone else to take their stuff. did S.P.E.R. help with the recovery and did you recover the full value of your vehicle?.
  6. not sure if you know about a Govt organisation called S.P.E.R., it deals with court orders that order damages for lost or damaged property as a result of crime. they have a representitive at the Southport courthouse. basically they make sure that the damages are paid as the Judge/Magistrate orders. they keep tabs on the offender and make sure he/she pays. good organisation, they are looking after my court awarded damages for my stolen GTR. good luck with it anyway.
  7. the thing is; most of the $900 is going into savings/banks. in tough times, most people will try to save money. so the so called 'stimulus package' is not getting out into the economy so how is it going to stimulate?. I have no problem giving the needy a helping hand, but to 'blow' $50bn on a general handout to many who don't need it, and will simply squirrel it away or spend it on a product produced in a foreign land by foreign labour, is rediculous. our kids will have to pay higher taxes to pay for this govts ineptitude. unfortunately, the 'ego' driven opposition are too busy with their infighting to land any hits on the Rudd/Swan circus.
  8. pretty funny, I wondered how the Rudd/ Swan team came up with the magical $900 figure...now it's all very clear!. thanks for clearing that up Mr Blitz.
  9. the answer to your question, "who paid for these handouts..", is... you, and other tax payers !!. it took ten years to build up the 'kitty' [$50 bn]; it's taken a Rudd-erless labour govt only one and a bit years to spend it all. it's bullshot with a capital 'B'. Australia is now broke, along with the rest of the world.
  10. you will not 'land' a decent r32 GTR for 12-16K. not even in two years time. what you will get for that money, is one that needs 10K spent on it after purchase, to get it to a 'decent' condition.
  11. as it was found/recovered under a house, I assume the cops have caught the culprit??. I would be interested to hear what sentence he/she gets, when/if the case goes to court. onya!
  12. welcome to the Coast, hope you get work and settle in quickly. cool 'module', hope to get a better look next organized cruise. regards
  13. WOW!, $666 is $200 more than I paid to have mine replaced [genuine Nissan] here on Gold Coast. PM if you want details. I'd ring around if you are willing to travel.
  14. sorry to hear that another skyline has been stolen here on the coast. having had my GTR knocked off last year I know how you feel. too many arseholes down here on the coast praying on honest car owners: people who work til they get enough coin to buy a car etc. as opposed to just going out and taking someone elses... police can't do much about it; your car, and mine, are just a couple of cars among many that 'go missing' each week here. I hope they cach the thief and the car is returned. there is a chance the cops will catch whoever is responsible: they got the dumbf that stole mine. I say dumbf because although the thief had already gotten rid of my car, he supidly still had my personalised plates under his house!! not the sharpest knife in the draw!. I have never got my car back but I got heaps of satisfaction out of going to court and seeing the judge/magistrate give him 3 yrs in stir. good luck with it anyway.
  15. hi sportz fans, I have played squash for years now. I like it because it's a good workout and it is not weather dependant; rain hail or shine the courts are always ready for a couple of eaer players. twice a week our club has a round-robin competition. good fun and pretty social also.

    Vq35 Cruise!

"...and peace will rule the planets, and love will steer the stars...." sounds like he dawning of the age of aquarius!! cool!. slightly off topic, but worth a plug.
  17. today, 11 AM-ish,on M1, white R33 didn't get # plate but 'pink bunny' in rear window. looked like driver was having a great time driving along; wind in the hair, she was just cruzin', both car and driver!.
  18. yeah, ther bellbirds are in fine voice this time of the year; I was on the Mt Lindsay Hwy a week ago [near the border x-ing] and they were letting all hell break loose. great to witnss.
  19. try a trip to the Border Ranges.. out to Beaudesert >>>> Rathdowney>>>> Kyogle [via Lions Road]. once at Kyogle, turn left [east] out to the coast, then return up the coast, or turn right [west] and return to Brizzy via Mt Lindsay Hwy. this is a great trip for Photography with Mt Warning or Mt Barney, the Border Loop railway tunnel [on Lions Rd] and beautiful Running Creek, which you will cross a dozen times or so as you follow the valley floor; pretty cool, especially this time of the year with all the rain we have had. you would need a full day to do do this trip; well worth the fuel though!.
  20. I'm heading to the 'Spit' on Sunday [12ish o'clock]. just going there to take some pics of my car for a friend in the US. usually pick up some prawns [if they have any, not always avail.] from the trawlers at the trawler docks there one the spit on the way.
  21. sometimes, ONO or OBO will appear in an ad, but not here; can we assume the seller is 'Firm', price wise?!!. if so, any sneaky buyers thinking that you will snap up this little gem of an R33 for a bargain basement $35k, forget it!!.
  22. c'mon you guys, it's gotta be worth the money; any day of the week. even with the knowledge that the owner is a 'terrible driver'!!!.
  23. careful RBJET....I wrote 'mornos', common Aussie slang for morning tea/smoko, not 'morons'. as picked up by Samon. the crux of my post was not to have a go at the 'coppers' [slang for police] it was merely to indicate that the suzuki swift is not suitable for police work. unless criminals are using Smarts or Scooters as get- away vehicles, I hardly thing the crims would be overly worried by a Swift pursuit car.
