  1. grand total of 23,541 days...how cool is that?. any advance on 23,541 sunrises/sunsets?.
  2. yeah, drink the oil; put the wine in the sump!!.
  3. I like the non-gloss look; it's akin to the 'rat-rod' look that is popular in he US at prsent. the rat-rod look gets away from the flashy, chromey approach; by using 'flat' paints etc; the peformance aspects of modding remain...pretty cool I reckon.
  4. yeah; neat car, good onya. re oil; first,I would get the oil pressure checked, if the pump is ok then hunt down and replace the faulty gauge/sensor. take out the guesswork, could save you plenty of $$! prob is the gauge/sensor, but not wise to gamble with oil pressure. regards
  5. hey GtrVSpec and 13rendan, cool job organising this cruise, seems like plenty of interest [good numbers]; but what is with the other cruise organised for the same day?. anyway, add me to your list, thanks.
  6. way too "cute" for my liking; looks like you are trying too hard to get the car "noticed". but, hey, it's your module.
  7. sneaky, dishonest Labor Govts that wait until they get elected on a promise of no new taxes.... then wipe the 8cents per litre fuel subsidy. onya Anna, you're a piece of work..!! sucked in Qld voters.

    R32 Vs R33

if this is your train of thought; you are in deep shit!!. if you are in the market fora 32/33, treat every one you look at on it's merits or you are going to get caught out big time. there are just as many shitbox 33s out there as 32s.
  9. everyone has to do their own thing I guess, but I have been going to the spit regularly since '02 and haven't even been questioned by the cops, let alone inspected. luck of the draw??.
  10. yeh, great footage. would like to see this type of racing return, especially for Bathurst; can't get into the V8 supercar thing.
  11. I hope you got his 'nuts', just so you can kick them around the backyard on weekends!!.
  12. cheeky R-sole; burglarizing to get the keys; K'n theives, what next. Hang-em-high..
  13. not a good Idea to leave that cover off; it is designed to prevent damage to belts, fan, radiator etc from road debris. also assists with air flow through the radiator.
  14. the price difference between an 'imaculate' R32 GTR and a 'tidy' one in Japan is considerable. so you would need to get a better idea of what you actually want before you start this exercise. $10k AU=JPY700000 [approx]; have a look on the auction sites and see what that will buy, definately not 'imaculate', probably not 'tidy' either. I imported a 32 GTR about a year ago and the import costs totalled approx $8.5k AU; that's car registered and on the road [not incl insurance]. so your estimate of $15-20k to import a good GTR and then reco the motor here, may need to be revised, in my opinion. also, I can't understand why you would want to bring a 'dead' engine into Aus; better to bring in a car with a decent engine if you are intent on doing the import thing. otherwise why not just buy a car in Aus with a clapped-out motor and replace it?. anyway, that's a heads up on my importing experience. good luck with it; there a great car!!.
  15. the lower engine cover is usually held in position by short [about 20mm] bolts with attached washers. they and the plastic fasteners can be ordered from Nissan.
  16. sure the R32 GTR is a great car, no argument there; but to advise Merceid to just do a "normal car check", is not good advice. to be sure he is not buying a lemon/money pit, he needs to spend the money to get a thorough GTR specific inspection.
  17. this model is one of a limited number; [1200+ I think, GTR buffs may correct my numbers here] and I know that good/lowkm examples of this model were bringing/asking over $30k and up $37k [through importers] last year when I was looking to buy. so I'd be wary at <$20k.
  18. don't loose heart, there are good examples of the R32 out there. but they are not cheap, owners who maintain their vehicles [ie, those that fix/repair problems as they occur] are generally not going to sell out cheaply [apart from the odd desperado] because of monies spent keeping the car in good shape. also, over the last couple of years, good R32 GTR have held there value better than the other GTR models. point is if you find a good/well maintained one, and only drive it, as opposed to 'thrash' it on weekends you should not hear the 'time bomb' ticking!!. there are plenty of people who own GTR's that can't afford to maintain them, that's why there are some out there on the market that fall into the 'time bomb' category.
  19. looking for a driver seat for a 1992 GTR. must be in very good condition, ie. no cigarette burns, tears, stains etc.
  20. I'd suggest, wherever you decide to take your car for a 'check-up' that you have the car's systems checked by a full computer diagnostic. "plenty of hiding places for expensive repairs in there".
  21. I ve bought two GTRs, one I imported myself, and the other I aquired locally [both R32s]. the local one I took to Gavin Wood here on the Coast to do a pre-purchase mechanical/test drive for me. very happy with the result; he and his crew pointed out areas of concern and where repairs were needed. worth a call if you are looking for a GTR guru and live within a reasonable distance from the GC. eidit: Gavin Wood's business is called 'Auto Tech'
  22. ok, sounds good, there are some beaut cars around here, I'm keen to see them gather occasionally so like minded owners can check them out.
  23. hi, there is a germ of a good idea here I reckon. I tried to get a gathering [meets]happening on the Coast a couple of years back [just after the GC Council closed down the Saturday night 'meets' at the Broardwater Car Park], there was some interest at the time but the thread disintergrated into a 'shitfight' as different factions had their say; fair enough that is what the forum is about; people having their say, but the idea died, and that was disappointing. good that you have sparked some interest here.
  24. Think on the bright side, the scum bag that they caught gets to enjoy the showers for how long? the a/hole got 3 yrs; but bear in mind he had stolen 3 other cars in the same week that he stole mine, and he was on probation at the time. he had a 2 page wrap sheet, was 22 years old and had never had a job; apart from auto theft!!. this is the 'shit' we have to put up with as law abiding citizens who go out and buy the things we want!!.
  25. know how you feel mate; had my first GTR stolen and although it didn't have the family connection that yours has, it's still a kick in the guts when you go out to an empty space where the car should be. I had six yrs and hard earned $$s in that baby. hope the 'generous reward helps; ironic isn't it how we have to offer payment to get back what we already own?!. theiving a/holes$. the cops caught the guy that stole my car; he is now doing 'time' but he refused to reveal what he had done with the car. I went to court for sentencing and later met with some of his 'mates' and his girlfriend outside the court. I offered them $5k reward for info on where the car was but never heard form any of the 'scum'. also posted reward on this forum, no luck. anyway, just thought I would pass on sympathy, I know where you are coming from. good luck.
