  1. Will look awesome! I'm thinking of getting new wheels, I love my wheels but they're just a little too small. 18x9.5 at +15. I'll see how it looks once it's slammed with 25mm spacers.. So -10 lol
  2. Don't get me started on the mrs and my M35... I now have 4 curbed wheels(and they're limited edition wheels too) I have to move the seat back everyime she's been driving it She complains about the bass... Even though i've told her 50 times about the bass remote right beside the gearstick.
  3. Couple of shitty cellphone photos of my headlight job. Have since polished the lenses, look 50x better.
  4. Could everyone please spare a minute and vote for CIRCLE JERK CREW in the NZPC awards http://www.performancecar.co.nz/industry-awards/car-club-of-the-year/circle-jerk-crew Also vote GT Refinishes for best shop
  5. I thought they were the same.... ? I quite like the look of the red one with the kit, just needs to be lowered. TBH, if I can source the parts, i'll do it to my M35. I prefer the pointy sharp look of the V35.
  6. Painted grill satin black, and headlight housings black. Photos to come tomorrow
  7. I'm getting 14L/100KM with my 250RS. Running on Caltex 95, 50/50 Norm/Sports Mode Can get higher open road driving, like I got from Hamilton to Wellington(535km) then back half way on a tank, around town is a shocker though.
  8. Yeh, i'm regretting not taking the time to check out other Stagea's before I got my one. I had jsut sold my Forester and wanted a new car, and dad(importer) had just bought this one in, took it for a drive, and instantly fell in love. The modern tidy interior, the standard handling, the sound, etc.. If I had of known the turbo one's were so easily available, or the manual ones were out there, I would of tracked one of them down... Now i'm stuck with the poor-spec.. Oh well, it's kind of motivation to do something radical to it, knowing I cant make it any slower than it is now haha
  9. What handling? TBH, on the road the Stagea is always going to be a big wagon... for the moment when I want handling I have the RX7, my Stagea will be my impractical daily driver that shouldn't be a daily driver, until it gets ripped up.
  10. This one's on SilkRoad's. Top arms hit body, can just fit a match-box between the ground and one of the arms. I intend to get a new exhaust made up to sit a bit higher, build a sump-guard and modify the rear setup so everything sits a bit higher, so I can drop it lower.
  11. Where yours sits is where I want mine, possible lower... My chassis will have to grow balls of steel for the speed bumps into my workshop!
  12. What springs you got? I wana bottom out.... I'm still trying to research what's the best suspension to use to go low. BC are cheap and go low, but how low? Then there's StanceWorks ZeroClearance coilovers for the 350Z which are built to go low not for performance, but they're a little more pricey.
  13. It wont "wreck it" but it won't like it. You should be able to get to a tire shop, aslong as it's witin 30-40km
  14. Yeeep. I'll probably just end up getting a nipple put onto this intake, as i'm not after performance on this motor. Oh and this afternoon got bored, so pulled some peices out of the interior and washed it all. Pulled seats out and vacuumed, cleaned up amp wiring and put it under the boot floor. So gross what appears over time, the cup holder in the middle was a mix of tobacco and sticky spilt Rockstar/Monster, including under the slip-in peice.
  15. Not really. They go back in their because it was the easiest way from factory. It's a proven advantage to vent them somewhere else. My RX7 has the breather go into a bottle... The optimal setup is a 2L+ bottle, with steel wool baffles and a drain back to your sump. Oil vapour = lower octane of your fuel and grime up intake. Which we all know is an issue on VQ motors. When I ripped off my intake it looked like someone had poured a bottle of oil through the intake. (Given it probably had never been pulled off its whole life of 200,000km) Yeh, i'll probably do that, or just get a silicone joiner the same as the black pipe, just a little more dollars.
  16. Cheers, yeh considering painting it black, or polish it a bit more. I'm just not sure what to do with the breather line that usually goes back into the intake. Either make/buy a oil catch can or get a nipple welded on to it. By the looks I need a new rubber joiner(from pipe to TB), it's starting to crack, so that'll be next!
  17. Got bored so made my own intake for it. 1x Silicone joiner I had from the old intake in my RX7 1x Offcut of alloy pipe Intake way louder than exhaust now... Epic
  18. Silkroad > BC ALL DAY Pity they aren't 2WD, i'd be all over them like tiger woods on a hooker
  19. Needs more low, more manual gearbox and either paint the whole bonnet or leave the whole thing CF.
  20. When I ripped up the carpet to run power and RCA's for amps to the boot, I noticed under the floor where the polystyrene blocks are, passenger front floor was soaked, and drivers side. Both full puddles of water. Soaked it up, haven't checked since will have a look when I pull seats out next time and see what I can find as a culperate.
  21. If Ichoose to go turbo route, I will do some measuring and reading on RB26/30's. Or VK45 with HKS VQ35 pistons which drop compression, 2 chargers and a good intake setup and Link ECU, they're good for 800+hp apparentally. Used in race boats. Cheers for the insight guys, if this goes ahead i'll be putting up a build thread in the future. It's quite a different step to the current state it's in. Boot full of amps, half way through custom doors and re-wiring the inside... haha
  22. Mine isn't turbo..... And I only brought the Stagea as a last minute thing, i'd sold my Subaru, and needed a car to get around and dad had just imported this ready for his yard... I wasn't gona say no for 7K. Which is why I didn't get a 3.5, I didn't realise they were easily found.
  23. Trust me, if Iwas going to keep the 7 permanently it would be a 26B going in it. And I don't agree with the prices car yards trade cars for, I took my 35 out of interest to one of the local yards and they offered me 6.5K... Yet they sell them on the lot for 15+. I know they have to make a profit, but it won't be my car they do it off.
  24. A custom manifold would sort the issue of exhaust hitting the firewall. I know the suspension setup is coil out of shock, I'm asking about the subframe itself, is it same as 350. VK is not much larger than VQ, "apparentally". Haven't measured it myself. I'm an NA fan myself, like my RX7 i'd wana build another NA, that's why i'm thinking VK, with individual intake etc. Yeh, I know it'd be a pig on the street, hence why Isaid i'd be buying a dedicated street one, so I can cut this one up. I'm keeping the RX7 for aslong as it takes to sell, but I built it 6 years ago, it's served its purpose time for a new challenge. At the moment, it's the decision of building another RX7 or 35.
  25. Has anyone weighed an M35 (any model) with full interior? According to this site they weigh 1500kg (assuming dry). Which I find hard to believe, it drives more like a 2.5 tonne truck. This is more a general engine question, has anyone had experience with the VK series motors? My old boss who's built many motors for the NZ scene says the VK45 is the motor to get, even more so than the 56. How hard would it be to shoe-horn an RB26 or 30DET into the engine bay? I know the 35's run a different crossmember setup to the older C34's so engine mounting is a little different, but how different? Are underbody braces worth it? I'm finding more and more M35 parts every day, including alot of under body braces, crossbars etc. I'm planning on doing more structural work to the inside, such as a front strut brace, rear strut brace(maybe a permanent fixture), floor bar, and possible a cage. What diff options are there? Does the 350Z rear end setup bolt up, I know they use similar suspension, so are mounting points the same for the whole rear end? Reason I have so many questions is i'm trying to gauge wether it's worth doing the crazy and cutting my 35 up to a track car. As i'm selling my RX7. I plan to buy a second Stagea for a road car. Before anyone says it's sacriliges(?), my 35 has had a hard life. It's at 200,000km now. Chassis is bent, interior is falling apart and rattling, alot of electrical issues(air bags, tiptronic, stereo and a few lighting issues), so i'd much rather take it off the road and do something different while I have a reason to, rather than cut up a good one. There's also more available now in terms of aero kits, diffusers (Takero), brakes, etc to make it a decent track car. Back to my first question, it's more the weight that worries me. I've found carbon bonnets, FRP guards, I can get FRP doors made locally, but if the chassis itself is a truck then there's no point. I appreciate any help, criticism(good and bad) and flaming. Cheers Jason
