  1. If you've recently installed HIDs or audio amps go for those fuses first - will almost definitely be the thing you recently installed.
  2. OK..... Noise 1 Check all your heatshields as one could have loostened slightly producing a rattle/tink sound - if its turbo side check your turbo and manifold shields. I see you have a SMIC so the chance of the engine fan touching/clipping the piping is probably NIL - mine was making a slight tink at idle due to my FMIC dropping slightly (weld actually cracked on the FMIC support mount) but the noise would dissappear when the revs were raised to a bit above idle Noise 2 Probably the same noise as noise 1? Your just hearing it from the centre console? The fact that it is more audible than the other tink is consistant with it being closer to you than when standing outside the car. If its definitely a different sound I would be taking it to a reputable workshop with a "noise tracer" (similar to a radiation detector seen on CSI or something - we had one in our workshop, i think it was Snap-On) which will be able to trace where the sound is the loudest and hence give you the source of the noise. I'd definitely be checking out the heatshields and anything thats getting in the way of your engine fan first. Jimmy
  3. So with regard to the GReddy/Trust oil filter...is it worth it?
  4. Yeah that's what I was thinking, I can only work on what the 32 GTR steering wheel looks like as I've had a perve through a few gtr windows - the wheel itself looks thicker/meatier but the design appears to be the same - tri spoke, inset centre etc I'm not sure if the type m wheel was different to say a 1990 r32 gtst steering wheel???
  5. Yeah I saw the thread but thought maybe we could have a dedicated royal purple discussion. Problem with the thread is there is 90+ pages of it - hard to get specific questions answered. **BUMP** for performance filters oppinions.....
  6. Experiences with Royal Purple oils would be good to hear about. I've heard conflicting oppinions on Royal Purple being a "superior" oil - I currently run Castrol Edge 5-40... Also, is the "high performance" oil filter just a gimick or do the GReddy/Trust filters flow better? Jimmy
  7. Yeah you make some very good points mate. I think, as I enjoy grip just as much as drift, I'll eventually put 32gtr calipers on but for now I'll concentrate on the fluid and pad side of things. I guess brakes aren't a major player in the success of a drift car being that you spin wheels to turn rather than apply the brakes at every bend like with grip.
  8. I see. I think I may stick with my stock calipers but upgrade to braided lines, quality fluid, EBC Reds and MC stopper. From here, if I'm having trouble with fade etc I'll upgrade to 32GTR calipers and rotors. Mad info dude, cheers.
  9. SOMEONE DELETE THIS THREAD. I APOLOGISE FOR EVER STARTING IT AND THE OTHER TERRIBLE POSTS AROUND THE SAME TIME.
  10. Yo, Can I have my username changed from plan-b to Plan-B. If taken can I have PL4N-B. Cheers
  11. Yeah DBA4000s, pads, fluid and lines are a must. The cylinder stoppers aren't a pricey item either so I'll do that as well. I've got the 4 pot r32 calipers on the front - you reckon there would be a decent difference between the 32 4 pots and the 33 4 pots?
  12. Yeah no after reading everything, disabling power steering doesn't seem to be warranted - especially for skylines. I was going to say that I will drift my car every now and then around roundabouts and long turns and I must say the feel of the steering is really nice. Never heard of those pads before but I guess their strong azz going by how out of control (but in control) your 31 looks in that avatar I'm gonna be replacing every bush on the car before it sees the track as well.
  13. +1 That's all a bloke could ask for. Cheers mate
  14. Haha all good mate thanks for your input. NSW Exec...nice
  15. Don't worry bout it mate you will NEVER get out of a SPEEDING fine unless (and I'm not reccommending this in the slightest) you have someone take the points/fine for you. As for all other demerit offences (not hooning stuff) you can opt for a summons as opposed to an on the spot fine/demerits. That's always good if you need to delay things a bit
  16. Hey mate cheers. So drift cars that have deleted p/s just have it done for weight reduction?
  17. Some people don't run power steering, some people do run power steering. What's the deal here?
  18. please don't take any notice of my rep...some doosh keeps negging my posts =(

  19. Used to have that privilege *sigh* Always been a fan of the SSS as well...
  20. so I have the strong clutch and brakes...bit of shopping to do hmmm
  21. Cheers murph, great info mate. As it happens I've got the power side more or less where I want it, handling is where my focus is now. Some guys talk about disabling the power steering? has this got something to do with how easy you can flick the steering wheel/how easy the steering wheel snaps back to centre?
