Clutch Fan - Normal Operating Behaviour
Plan-FAILURE replied to Plan-FAILURE's topic in General Maintenance
Exactly the response I was after mate thanks. I think mine may have become seized after it wore itself down a bit on my IC piping. Was making the most minor contact with the IC piping after the restraint broke its weld and probably over time it has slowly shat itself. Unfortunate to hear about the rb26 fan not being an easy replaced item... -
Ok so when I first got my car it was back in October last year, I never used to notice the clutch fan come on and flick off. Now it seems like once the car has reached normal operating temperature the fan will be on most of the time which has prompted me to write this. My question is basically what is the normal actuation and cut out parameters for the r32 gts-t clutch fan. I've been led to believe that clutch fans will also cut out at a certain rpm but mine doesn't and continues to wind up well past 4000 rpm.

I've searched high and low and nothing to answer my question. If you have a prob Nismoid, update your forum search tool - its crap. Google works better to find an individual post LOL. Can someone just give me a link to a thread that talks about electric engine fans and deleting the drivebelt driven wright brother.

Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
Plan-FAILURE replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What's the most PSI you would run through an internally stock, but fresh (8000km after full rebuild) RB20DET? I've got Full RB20DET rebuild with all the usual honing/blanking blah blah FMIC Full turbo back exhaust with performance cat Greddy Dump Pipe z32 AFM Cold air intake Splitfire coilpacks 550cc injectors ECU Remap Garrett GT2871R Bosch 044 Exedy Super HD Clutch 230.3rwkw on 16 psi... Just wondering how far I can turn the boost up. I'd run it on 16 usually with the max psi used every now and then. -
So why do we compare tunes then? If everything is subject to error/accuracy issues. Why do you have a power thread to compare tunes? Why don't we tell everyone to do exactly the same mods and use exactly the same dyno at exactly the same temperature at exactly the same altitude at exactly the same geographic position at exactly the sime time of day. Way to put a dampener on my day nismoid.

Powerfc - Before And After Results
Plan-FAILURE replied to Plan-FAILURE's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah I was a bit lazy wasn't I? I've got 230.3 kW on 16 psi and the dyno sheet is below... Dyno Sheet R32 GTS-T.pdf Full RB20DET rebuild with upgraded rods and bearings FMIC Full turbo back exhaust with performance cat Greddy Dump Pipe z32 AFM Cold air intake Splitfire coilpacks 550cc injectors Nistune Chip (on stock ecu) Garrett GT2871R Bosch 044 Exedy Super HD Clutch I've just noticed Unigroup did the work (done before I bought the car) Go hard -
Ok all you turbo whores... I'm getting my AP Engineering PFC for my R32 GTS-T in the coming weeks and would like to know the before and after power figures for guys using this ECU. Preferably results from guys that have had their stock ecu remapped and then opted to put in a PFC as this is my situation exactly. One would think the PFC would yield good results against the remap as the remap of the stocky is only a BASIC retune. Go for gold. James

To Modify... Or Not To Modify?
Plan-FAILURE replied to RB25PWR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah I am this person too. Did three years of a mechanical apprenticeship and work on my car very little. With this said however, if I had a small workshop with all the tools, hoists, cradles, air lines etc, I would build my car from the ground up. I'd do everything myself. My frustration usually comes from not having the tools/manpower/space/time to do jobs effeciently. -
R32 Gtr Wheel Vs R32 Gts-T Type M Wheel
Plan-FAILURE replied to Plan-FAILURE's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling

Plan-FAILURE replied to RB25PWR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its good for 10psi and thats SAFE. Read the posts in here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/272413-max-boost-for-standard-r34-gtt-turbo/ Why would you be a fool and risk it? -

You'll end up frying your turbo.
