  1. Man i like your style. I personally try to go for something different, not to BE different but to enjoy putting my personal touch to things. Can I ask why you opted to stroke the 20 over swapping in a 25?
  2. I'll pay good money for a CONSULT application for my smart phone.
  3. Yeah I adopt the give it a squirt every now and then. Most of the time cruising off boost with regular rolling boosts to the speed limit. Drive & Feel: Responsive, direct, least lag possible, nice spread of power....and I will add...that pleasing lumpy nature of the engine note with aftermarket cams. Please advise if I'm being a tosser lol James
  4. How does the stroker go up against a similarly modified rb25?
  5. From what people have been saying in this thread as well as my other similarly titled post... Cams with stock cam gear settings work the best? Cam gears will be somewhat beneficial but not as much as just upgrading the shafts themselves. James
  6. Harey McLary made a boo boo.
  7. Yeah straight out. Might be time for some replacement parts haha.
  8. Alternatively man, if I didn't want to chase power and was after drive and feel, would it still be a bad move?
  9. I've just had a look at the vehicle report the day after I purchased the car... There are a few things noted that may corellate to the shakey steering... 1) Both inner tie-rod ends have minor freeplay 2) Both rear outer HICAS ball joints have minor freeplay 3) Both front upper control arms have minor freeplay 4) Both front radius rod bushes weather cracking 5) Front and rear stabilizer link pin bushes weather cracking. At the time of the report I didn't have these attended to as I felt as if they could be a bit exaggerated to encourage me to spend more money. Now I'm thinking one or more of these things have deteriorated a bit more... James
  10. No noticeable damage to front or rear rims. Also can't recall any situation where I could have/would have buckled one. If it helps problem has increased slightly since getting her in October 2010 which would tend to suggest something is wearing out... Nice to see someone's breaking new ground with a turbo x-trail as well. Would love to see videos of that haha! James
  11. I know this doesn't help you but you can't say it was all displeasure!
  12. They're just the beez neez aren't they. Sure you'll have another one soon bud. R35s are down to 100k now lol...
  13. Neg camber on rears was my demon. Sounds as if yours could be the result of tyre hardening.
  14. You are an assett to SAU JJJJS. I fixed the wheelspin with correct camber adjustment on the rears and coils.
  15. Ok guys, I think it might be my tie rods that are on their way out. Had new rubber put on all round a couple of weeks back, with them all being balanced and alligned at a reputable shop. Between about 80 and 100 km/h I'll get some shake through the steering wheel (fairly minor). Given the tyres are balanced and aligned, would tie rods be the obvious cause? James
  16. Haha not sure where your reading either bud. From what I've been told today, I'd say Poncams for a decently modified RB20DET will be most beneficial, both in low down torque and boost response.
  17. Cool. What gains did you get with the pon cams on the 26?
  18. We're talking RB20DET here mate. I've disregarded info specific to the RB25s as, like you have said, aren't reknown to yielding gains from cam gears. I've come to the conclusion that it would be one or the other (cams or cam gears) on the RB20DET. I will be doing cams as people agree that Pon Cams come perfected, no need for cam gear adjustments/aftermarket gears...
  19. Ahhhhh I see. Might just opt for the pons then. Will check out the dyno results. Cheers bro.
  20. Awesome info mate. I'd overlooked the VCT being the reason why the 25s don't need the intake gear. Looks like cams and cam gears will be going in after some experimenting. James
  21. I'm guessing pon cams would further enhance the gains of an exhaust cam gear. Cheers bro
  22. Ok guys I've done a bit of searching around and haven't really been able to find anything that relates directly to these mods on an Rb20DET. I've got 230 kW on 16 psi and running the following mods. Full RB20DET rebuild with upgraded rods and bearings FMIC Full turbo back exhaust with performance cat Greddy Dump Pipe z32 AFM Cold air intake Splitfire coilpacks 550cc injectors Nistune Chip (on stock ecu) Garrett GT28R Turbo Bosch 044 Exedy Super HD Clutch Would Pon Cams and an exhaust cam gear be beneficial??? James
  23. Looks as if a aftermarket exhaust cam gear would be a good move. Intake is probably a waste as people have said.
