  1. it does read the gears, easiest way is plug in those japanese overide boxes, http://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/kong/y0000002983.html, about $130 if you have contact in japan. You are unlucky you dont have one fitted already from japan, have you checked behind your screen ? Otherwise you could spend hours trying to work out the wiring, as from memory probably around 40 wires into the xanavi unit. Think Andy does a solution for the M35's, not sure if this would be the same in the C34s.
  2. 1 left (dont worry Stephen, still holding one for you)
  3. FS 2 x ASUKA HR3 digital TV tuners for TV model Stageas. $295 each delivered. $280 pick up from Brisbane. Antennas for non tv models. $60 pair. Pm me if any questions re install. Note: M35s require additional RCA adapter plug.
  4. then youll need a different head unit.....
  5. so youve got an aftermarket head unit with XANAVI screen, as most people do ? You just need to have a head unit with an AUX input to play the TV sound.
  6. pretty sure it is cabin temperature sensor, plugs into dash, left and below of steering wheel where the sensor is, the job of this pipe is to draw air past the sensor when the air con is on. If you dont have climate control, mighten have this sensor.
  7. OK, blue wire is my antenna power from my head unit (so amps on come on ONLY when i select radio). This goes to the white wire (bottom arrow), which in turn feeds 12V to yellow black wire (top arrow) and on to amps. You may have had your wires cut, so may not have original block like mine.
  8. same as your dig TV at home, abc and sbs radio only.
  9. Ill send you some pics either this arvo or tomorrow.
  10. firstly, what car do you have ? pm me your vin # if you want to check for factory TV. depending on model, usually in rear windows, you may have an aftermarket setup for an old analogue tv on front windscreen.
  11. If you dont have factory antennas, 2 of these rod style active antennas available for 2x$25 each=$50 good value considering these overpriced ones from HITV http://www.hitv.com.au/products/view.jsp?i...&category=2 retail for around $150 each last time I checked. Ive had them side by side, and look identical to me.
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3816963 ..and 48520-23u25 same as 33 and 34 GTR
  13. tuners receieved today and posted out....5 HR3's still available
  14. HR3 is TV and USB, HR2 is only TV, both have AV inputs. I have been reassured from Asuka that the USB input will output to NTSC but not the AV input(as was case with HR2), so reverse cameras still need to be NTSC. (for those who did not know, there is a reverse camera switching function) HR_III_User_Manual_Ver._1.10.pdf
  15. same as HR2 but with usb input for playing video and audio files on usb stick. Recommended that M35 owners buy a USB extension cable allowing access to the UBS port, since tuner is usually tucked away out of reach.
  16. If you had the time, an adapter could be made up if you visit Jaycar, but wont be as neat, and probably lose some signal strength, cutting them into 2 RG59 screw terminals is very efficient and tidy. I wouldnt worry about cutting them, those plugs have absolutely no purpose once the car left japan.

  18. pm sent here's a basic wiring guide.
  19. thanks for everyone who ordered, expecting them within 1 to 2 weeks. No more HR2s available from me, but got some extra HR3s if anyone else interested.
  20. Im in the process of ordering some more TV tuners, ASUKA HR2 and HR3s, so anyone chasing a tuner, pm me for details over the next couple of weeks, and so i can add you to the order, cheers, Simon
  21. nothing to buy, factors amplifiers are hidden away behind rear door, your power wire will be there.

  23. yep, if your radio has antenna power wire (ie, 12V only when radio is on, not cd), otherwise should have an amplifier/acc wire, connect straight to it.
  24. just make sure you connected power to the antenna amplifiers when you installed new head unit, from memory it is the wire linked to the antenna plug behind the head unit.
