Just wondering, When a tuner is tuning your car. They are doing it for the particular atmospheric conditions at that time. After reading a few of the recent posts. They have said that in cold weather your car is more prone to “ping” due to the denser air. But this is also true in hot weather. If this is the case. When is the best time to have a car tuned? What can be/is done to overcome this? I always thought the colder the air the better. On a cold night should a person run Less boost than on a normal day. Thanks guys

Kel. What you want to do is... First sand it down with some rough/heavy grade sandpaper. that remove all of the coating and crap that nissan put on it. Next get some very fine grade sandpaper and rub it all over very evenly to try and smooth it all out. After that spray it with a few coats of Primer (about 3 or 4) First layer will fill the scratches up. 2nd will coat it. 3rd and 4th will finish it off. Let that dry over night. Then spray it with the colour of choise. Same process again a few coats letting each one dry before you do the next. Once that it all done and dry hit it with the Gloss. Again a few layers to really build it up. Once done you should not have any troubles with it scratching (unless you really get stuck into it) and it will look sweet

or.. you can go a FMIC and run 12 - 13 psi. FMIC kit (800) (Group Buy Section) Or even consider a R34 GTT Cooler for a slight improvement (150 - come up in Private Sales every so often) Dump (250 in mild steel) and Cat (190) - Both in For Sale Section from BATMBL) Power FC (1250 Group Buy Section) EBC (250 - from R33 Perfecto) GTR Fuel Pump (150 - 2nd hand from forums - R33 Perfecto) Tune Power FC (660 from Gavin Woods AutoTech - QLD) Install most of it youself (priceless) Total with FMIC $3550 Total R34 GTT Cooler $2800 After that I would also be considering a Clutch upgrade Take it easy

go the Hybrid mate. The piping is so much easier to get. Most kits come with them. I have got a GTR cooler sitting in my bedroom and I'm having a hell of a time trying to find piping for it. Places can make it up but they want $1350 to do it.

get your exhaust finished off. Power FC + HC Electronic Boost controler FMIC GTR Fuel Pump That should get you moving along nicely
-
yeah the end tanks bend back a little. They are 3inch inlet/outlet

Do you know if the piping kit (R33) would go with a GTR Intercooler? Thanks mate

Hey mate. Best thing to do is take out the plastic part and then head off down to your local hardware store. Pick up some thick plastic or acrylic. Then use the old coil cover as a template. Just make the back section were the igniter pack mounts into. Or you can cut that back section off and mount that little bit of the original back on with your igniter pack on it. (Quick and easy. Hacksaw and about 10 mins work - What I have done) Take it easy

Donation Sale - RB25 Parts

Updated Added Nismo FPR -
hey man 1st of all... seriously.. this has all been covered in the RB30 Conversation.. read through it. 2nd. The RB25 pistons will work fine. just use std rings from nissan or ACL. One thing to rember is that you will have a VERY low Compresion ratio. some say 6.# to 1 others say 7.# to 1. Either way its going to be reeeaaaly doughie off boost. And then when its on boost you are going to need a lot of it to compensate. I am running my RB31DET on std RB30 pistons. (balanced and checked out) and it runs perfectly on them. Have been told that they should be good for up to apx 450 - 500 hp (WITH A GOOD TUNE!!!) if you can't afford forged pistons you won't be doing any more than that sort of HP level. Im only going for 215-230 rwkw (220 kw equals 295.025 hp so definatly not stressing the internals) Good luck with the build up

will this piping be able to be used on a GTR intercooler?

Curious as to what can be done to the New PS2's. It already has the Network port built into it. Are they able to play "back up" games or run the ps2 linux?
-
as I said every 100,000km's i change diff and gear box oil Boston for oil I use Motul 8100 its a little exy (Apx $70) but other than going to the v300 stuff ($40 2L) its the best that I have found.

Hey mate Sounds like you are trying to do a bit of a beast on a budget. My system all up has cost me under 2K and its definaly not slow. Athlon 3000+ 64bit (754 pin) Abit KV8-Max 3 (uses the Via K8T8000 chipset - I prefer it to the NForce) GeCube Radion 9600XT 256MB 1GB DDR400 Ram 2x SATA 120GB Western Digital 8mb Hard drives (Running Raid) Pioneer DVD Burner 1x IDE 160GB WD 8mb Hdd (Backup) There is nothing that I am unable to run (HL2 runs perfectly) The way I see it PC parts are becoming very cheap to buy. So I have purchased this setup and it will do me for next 6months - 1year. That way PCI X is not quite as new. This should give them some time to figure out the bugs in the setup. At the moment the x800 AGP is still apx 10% Faster than the x800 PCIX. This includes the fact that PCIx runs at 16x and AGP is still running on 8x. Get somthing for now and upgrade it later on when it is needed. I am going to start looking at bigger video cards now. Not that I need to. I just want somthing faster again.

I replace the O2 Sensor with the Coil Pack's I spray the coil's and the connections. Then i cover them over (masking tape) and spray the coil pack with the silicone and also the Boot cover
-
Yeah I change them every 12000-15000 because I run Copper Plugs (BCPR6EY .8mm Gap) They retail for $3.75 each so I can change them quite a few times before I add up to the bigger ones.
-
I don't know how correct this is. But as a General Rule I do these 3000 - 5000 Replace Oil and Filter + General Top up of all fluids 12000 -15000 (all of the Above Plus) Spark Plugs + Fuel Filter + Clean Coil Pack's with Contact Cleaner and spray coil pack's with silicone spray 30000 - 40000 (All of the Above Plus) O2 Sensor 100,000 Timing belt, Idler bearing, tensioner bearing, water pump, diff oil, gearbox oil... Mechanic does all of this Every year just before Summer I do a coolant flush and put in new coolant. Have not done an engine flush as of yet (engine is only 15000km's old) Thats just what I do.. There is probaly more. Hope that helps
