I'll pipe up and say I'm super happy with my combo of DBA 2 piece slotted front rotors and Ferodo 3000 pads. Over 3000 competetive kays on one pad set, and only very light skims of the rotors twice. Skimming isn't from wear but rather from warping. Doesn't get much cheaper than that I don't think.

Are you refering to a treaded tyre Duncan? I am going to get slicks, anyone have any feedback on a brand they'd recommend? And I'll ask the question again, do you agree I'll get more life per dollar on slicks?

Truthfully, my experience is with a fast street car on street tyres your times are actually quicker on the street than a prepped track. My previous GTR never turned all four tyres in THIRD gear on the street but consistently did on Willowbank's prepped surface. My theory is that on a smooth prepped trach a street tyre cannot "key" into the texture like it can on the street. Hence, a slick tyre is what you really want for a prepped track. Regardless, 2.9 to 100,..... man, wow, that's fast!

And Mark Berry's currently having a muffler built for the weapon 34 GTR so he can have a run there, he said he'd do any mod required to get it onto Lakeside. And maybe, just maybe, we might end up with a Superlap type event at the track, so, wouldn't it be worthwhile getting some practice in for that?

That sounds easy to find mate... lol Interestingly, popped over to my race car building mate over the road yesterday, he has a partially busted 6 speed HKS GTR gearbox there. The transfer has been cut off it for RWD. It's not a getrag, its an early box.... I'd nearly forgotten HKS did thissetup, they did didn't they? lol Anyone know where to source the bits to fix it, who made the stuff? it's wierd, it has oval dogs instead of Aussie style back-ground dogs.
