  1. Here here! Well said. As you state, at this level, power is not the issue. Setup and track conditions mainly govern the the times produced. I for one don't care whether Outright GTR's run on methanol @ 40psi or on "pump fuel" @ 55psi. Just watching that Heat Treatments car black tracking all over the shop was enough for me! Cheers, Ben
  2. A friend has an Evo IV that he won rally of Burnie (Tarmac) in this year he's considering selling. Let me know if I can put you in touch with him! Cheers, Ben.
  3. Congrats alright! Apparently, todays run was done with a rev limit of 9500. It was still hitting the limiter, so now they've worked out they need 11,000, so thats where it gonna be set! Work it out.... if it gets close to 11 grand, she'll crack 200mph!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!! It was also black-tracking the entire quarter, so she aint lacking!
  4. Just heard this time was run at Willowbank today! Great to hear! Gives HKS a hurry up, maybe they'll bring the 33 out of retirement? I believe the previous record was 7.67 @ 181.7 mph? From what I hear, Reese's car still has some time to come yet, with .1 of a second to find in the 60ft and raise the limiter so it's not banging hard up against it over the last 100ft or so......... Jambo should be good!
  5. Yeah, quick-shifters just wear our the synchro quicker thats all ('its always rushing the synchro)
  6. Synchro's gone. Maybe able to decrease the grind with a new/better oil. Another thing to try if that doesn't work, and it's a little unorthodox, is; hold steady revs on flat ground with nothing in front of you @ around 2000rpm. With your foot off the clutch (out) move the gear lever toward fourth gear slot (don't worry, it won't jump in!) and gradually increase the pressure with which you try to pull it into 4th. You'll notice the engine will actually load a little. Do it for up to 20 seconds, in increments of 5 seconds. It has the effect of "re-bedding" the synchro. Trust me, it works, bought me another 20,000k's in my GTR. If all else fails, fix it, or put up with double clutching on the way up! {'cause we all heel and toe on the way down don't we people? I hope so! }
  7. Yeah, that sounds good! Is that run by BSCC?
  8. Oooh! Good news! Do you know if it's good quality? Whitey was telling me the fuel comes in on one ship, and they don't really wash the tanks well? So, in effect, you pay for the good stuff, but get a bit of diesel/metho/kero thrown in for free... Would you agree?
  9. hehe, most are!
  10. You gotta say that getting onto that track was worth the f*ck around? They obviously weren't expecting the turn-out they got for the sprints section, but they still shoulda paid more attention to ya Jason. Good to put a face to the name mate. Cheers.
  11. Just noticed the pics of the one is ACT you're lookin at. Just be aware that it has snow/winter tyres on it, and may have been used on salted roads, = rust. JDM cars don't have good rust protection, and it usually festers between panels to come out and bite you a couple of years down the track.
  12. If you didn't manage to get there, it was good! Just happy to get back out on that track again! The noise issue wasn't as bad as I'd thought it'd be. hrd-hr30, good to meet ya mate. Cheers, Ben (go the spagma!)
  13. No, I don't but thanks anyway! I'll just wait for the official DVD. Thanks again, Ben.
  14. AzzurrA, sent you a PM re contact details. We're in. 1 car. Cheers, Ben
  15. Yes they can, we have a Qld rally rego R34. What sort of vehicle you thinking of?
  16. Ahh, sugar, missed it!
  17. G.day TT. You in for Burnie?
  18. What have you heard? Spill it.....................
  19. Yep, understand fully. The joys of selling! Given that it's not really "track ready" or even close, I'll think I'll give it a miss. And I DO agree people would laugh at me! Thanks anyway. Cheers.
  20. Well my apologies for not knowing all the details! I was just trying to get a handle on, quote; "This car was built to look like, sound like and go like a Supercar" and, "many 10's of thousands spent on the car."
  21. Hi Dominic, I'm looking for something along these lines for weekend events. I've read and re-read your initial post. Are there any other modifications to mention? eg. does is have the crankcase venting sorted? Or is the body stich welded? I'm assuming the car's brakes are standard? Cheers, Ben.
  22. This look familiar? This is what was on right now! Whats goin on???
  23. And I can hereby confirm that Theo is a wanker 'cause I used to work with him.... Aren't ya Theo! Yawaka
