Hi guys, just lettin you know we've decided to pull out of the Suncoast Classic. We've had a look at some stages, and I honestly reckon that there'll be some carnage. Lots of fast straights into blind, over-crest off camber stuff. Not that it should really pose a problem, but I feel that with only 200 competetive k's, it'll only take one or two stages to be downgraded and we'll lose a good chunk of that. And Duncan, that new sticker job's lookin fancy mate!

Hi bud, so it's had a swap to a black top SR. Is is still the S13 version or S14 VVT? I'm interested, sans stereo. You've removed the air-con, I take it you've been racing/drifting it? Thanks mate.

PS has anyone still not got an engine built nor wired up, tuned or run in? The HEAT is on! Ummm, I need to clean my race boots and polish my helmet still?

Can Race/rally Import Be Used In Targa?
Marlin replied to RU34ME's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Same for Qld.... special number plate that stands out. But, car doesn't need to comply with ADR's, therefore, you can drive anywhere with (I think) 15klm from home/to and from an event/for repairs,.... all with no cats, weld in 6 point cage, noisy exhaust, SLICKS!!, race numbers etc..... so it's actually kinda cool! The fuzz trips out! lol -
Did R32gtrs Come With Fog Lights Standard

Definately do a comp test..... my bet is broken ring land.

Certainly check everything that SK said for sure, but have you eliminated the possibility that it may have just simply gotten hot on the dyno after succesive runs and had a bit of a spit out the overflow. Wouldn't be uncommon at that level of tune.

So, went to the meeting for Suncoast tarmac rally last night...... they asked that I encourage you all to come as they need numbers! Well of coarse they would, alot of sweat and tears has gone into organising it, and if it doesn't go ahead this year for whatever reason, lack of numbers or whatever, we'll probably never have a chance to see it come to fruition. The organisers have had a multitude of issues to deal with, backward local councils being the main thing, and resistance from locals who are already tired of dealing with bikers smearing themselves over the roads on weekends who, maybe understandably, don't want more disruption. So, to cut a long story short, the competetive kilometres has been reduced to approx 200, due to the fact that one entire days competition (unfortunately probably the best day by far), has been wiped due to said council issues. So, now it's a 4 day event, including "prologue" day, although the prologue can now effectively alter the overall standings. You see, there is now 4 runs up the prologue course, the Nossa hillclimb, it's quite entertaining (as opposed to one), effectively making it a "regularity" points scoring day. The remaining 3 days are as per normal tarmac rallying. The entry fee has been reduced by $500- to compensate. I welcome your thoughts guys, but I reckon I don't need to be Einstein to know what you'll say. Cheers, Ben.

Well, hopefully tonight will help. It's a big ask to hand over 7 fat ones on a wing and a prayer! I'm in the same boat, heard nothing about it at all, unbelievable when you consider it's not far off now.... apparently... haha, July or August I think???? And come on mate, you know I don't swill p155 like a pig at a trough! MUCH!!! lol

For interest, I'm going to the info evening tonight for SunCoast Classic (the Noosa event). If anything interesting comes of it, I'll post tomorrow. Cheers!

No, they're definately not standard, but may be an option (but I really don't think?) The switch you're talking about allows the park lights to be on when depressed with the ignition key removed and the car locked (for when parked in a dark or dangerous position). -
Sorry, you're 100% correct. I was wrong. Brain fade.

Yep, all chicanes are entered from the left.

Tarmac Rally Brake Pad Recommendation
Marlin replied to PHaT MR30's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Right on, I agree, the blue's are spot on on the std size rotor package. We used them on the Suby Sti that weighed 1850 kg with us in it, and only experienced slight fade on one stage....... Grasstree Hill on the way down. -
Happened arouind midday Sunday.

Marlin: Nah, I didn't see it mate, what happened? I can't get the photos off my stupid NOKIA N70 "world's most unreliable phone" to show you sorry. The ex Win Percy VL Walky looks like it broke and axle (from around 3rd on grid) and was moving very slowly away when it was nearly hit by 2 cars from the rear, and got absolutely clobbered by an LJ from around 25th position. There was a huge speed difference and the LJ would be unrepairable, the VL was also extremely bent. Lady driving LJ went to hospital but realeased that night I believe.

Did you guys see the carnage of the LJ and Walky? A mess and shame. I haven't read all through so apologies if it's mentioned prior.

365 front and 335 rear. They're close, (and do get a few graunchy noises with rocks between the rim and caliper), but man they work well. -
You remember... I'm honoured! And excellent to hear you're still enjoying it (fuel issues aside Look, I honestly reckon most dealers are going to be reasonable to deal with these days, most of the "cowboys" are weeded out fairly quickly. As Spooks alludes to, even "good" cars can have their share of issues. Remember that larger yards can turn over 40 to 50 cars a month, and with a team of say, 4 guys, it's hard to drive all of them frequently to see if there's any small things that need looking at/fixing. That, compounded by the fact that imports can sit awaiting shipping and compliance for up to months, means that some small issues may get through. And as Spooks can attest, if you do have a legitamate problem or whinge, go and see the selling dealer, don't carry on like a pork chop, allow them the time they need to do a proper fix, don't threaten them with violence, don't call them "lying c**ts", just try and be as pleasant as possible! It seems to work. And Spooks, unfortunately Jason was forced to move by the council (the site is where the new tunnel's emerging), and have amalgamated with their other yard (Autoshop) on the magic mile. (I still keep in touch with them even though I've out of the game for several years now)

Big Brake Upgrade For Gtr

Yeah, we now use exactly the same setup, even the DS3000's, and it is superb. After initially hoping that F40/F50's would suffice, we were sadly made aware that half way through one 6 day event, the genuine Brembo 2 piece rotors had several radial cracks and we were forced to "cruise", well, at least back off to 7 tenths anyway. That was a bad enough experience to bite the bullet and get the Alcon's through PWR, and they were on the doorstep within a week, and were quite simple to fit. Pedal feel is excellent (on the std master to my suprise), and balance seems quite good too judging by the wear and feel of the car. Pad knock-off however is more noticable due to the larger rotor diameter, though we may minimise that by tightening/replacing wheel bearings. -
Oh don't I know it TT, but isn't that all part of the fun? lol I'm actually kinda uncomfortable not being involved with the prep of the car..... just making light of it.
