  1. Thanks Snowy, i hadn't seen that. Cheers!
  2. Well well, Vic round is nearly here! Show of hands?? I'll be there with Deano "Heart of a Lion" in the 34. I'll be the guy spearing off backwards, hair on fire. Come to think of it, I'll probably be understeering off too. On fire. Brisby, bring an extra extinguisher please.......... the missus likes my long locks. Am I missing something or hasn't anyone had any correspondence from Dutton re docs?
  3. Well, one of them anyways! lol I was so tired from all the touring that I was aberrant.
  4. Pot holes and gravel is EXACTLY what we like... four wheel drive to the fore! BUT, with the roads degrading every year, more and more of the older, less easily handle cars are finding it difficult to stay on the road, therefore we seem to get more downgrades or just cars off, which is no good to anyone. Wouldn't you agree? Witness, what, 4 cars off on one corner at Oyster Cove this year? Personally, I reckon it's a good move in theory. I HATED the long liason drive up north on day 4, then lunch, then attacking Cethana when you're just starting to get tired. Bloody dangerous IMO. I can see the point with regard to the "duty of care" mentioned.
  5. I must get a copy of the DVD. Had totally slipped my mind until now.... Oh, and I'm tight as a fish, witness my new number plate. I'm pretty pleased with the new caurse, Day 3 was getting a little roughed up, what with re-surfaced roads and lotsa bumpy garbage..... Only time will tell if it's a true improvement. I'm getting onto accomodation in Strahan right now.....
  6. Thats a 430, primed and ready for release apparently...... I only know because i put a deposit on one 12 months ago. NOT!!!!!!
  7. HAHAHA!, the Vauxhall wagon reminds me of my Swift Gti youth!
  8. Yes, but they're still left hand drive. Max Beck I beleive is the owner of that car?? I remember reading a feature years ago saying his young fella drove it to his school formal and through Maccas drive through! lol I just love the F40, even though they're responsible for creating more widows than any other Supercar in history.
  9. So, you're going to drift a 1600kg plus, mid engined, 4WD car with a wider rear track........... I'd love to see that! lol
  10. Thanks Benm! I didn't get sound? Is that me or the files? And yeah, go battered Sav man! I didn't get to see it Saturday, was there a glimpse of the world's slowest R34, Car #979? I was a little dissappointed I didn't see us over the Ross jump, I spent the next half hour putting the front bar, undertray, headlights, indicators back in the poor old thing. lol ... it looked like it had been punched in the face.
  11. F40 was sure near the top of my list. But it said "not left hand drive", and "available in Australia".... so it kinda doesn't fit! But neither does an E30 M3 (LHD) or Maserati MC12 (LHD). Plenty of old-school cars like a 300SL Gullwing could tempt me, but they never ever drive as well as they do in your dreams! lol
  12. Seems a fairly common lust And orange on black??? Yes please!!!!! Funnily enough I drove a new M5 on saturday, and although "interesting", I wouldn't seriously consider one? Too..... ummm, pretentious. Now, if you could get one without all the "M" buttoned b*llsh*t, that'd be a great car. Maybe, an M5 Evo??
  13. 1. 2007 Range Rover Supercharged - 'cause I love pimpin on Frazer Island with 24" wheels. lol 2. Ferrari 599 Fiorano - daily driven Enzo-engined goodness! 3. 'ole faithfull Porsche 997 GT3 RS, because if the world were fair, everyone would have one!!
  14. When you say week before, it that the working week prior to the event of the weekend before?
  15. Thank you... I'll see how things are looking as it gets closer and see if i can't sneak down! Honestly though, we're not taking it too seriously, more of a social event and an excuse to keep the wheels from seizing up.
  16. Nope... the white one. Should be interesting, I'm a Queenslander and haven't sited any of the venues.
  17. Lock in another Skyline for the Vic round to take the fight to the Evos guys... although, it's yet to be seen how serious we will attack it given I can't reach the pedals. Is Sparco doing platform sole race boots yet?
  18. Was there vehicles in particular that had an issue with gearboxes? Watching the videos it looks like the "around the cones" stuff would be pretty tough on the little evo and Suby boxes am I right?
  19. Yeah, well done guys! Sure must be a really well built car to be that quick AND so reliable! Good on you!
  20. Is this the V8 Vantage owned by a Tassie dentist that was in Targa Tas this year? Or could it be the DB9R recently imported for Nations Cup? Both sweeeeet sounding Motor Cars sir!
  21. Yes ditto, Hornibrook. Craig helped us with tyres for 2005 and 2006. Good guy!
  22. Great wet tyre, but going by my own experience with these (medium compound) in tarmac rallies, I think they might struggle on a circuit with a full weight Skyline with a few HP. Note they are also extremely pressure sensitive, and seem to like a lower cold starting pressure than usual. Although in their defence, once cycled a couple of times they do toughen up a little. I'm not certain they'd offer more dry grip than an 03 or even 02 Dunlop, although I'd back them on a wet track. Cheers
  23. Yes exactly, forget that car and owner...... the jaws flap in a light breeze.
  24. Absolutely fantastic pics there mate..... sure must have been a memorable day for you! Brushing with your idols is one of the bggest buzzes I reckon! Here's mine; In Targa Tasmania 2006 I alerted one P Brock to his missing a time control that would have earned him a time penalty if he didn't back-track (whilst competing with him directly for a position), and he came to me later and called ME a "bloody legend"!!! I was like, who are YOU calling a legend?!?!?! lol And in this years targa, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a 3 hour dinner by my all-time favourite driver, Jim Richards, superman in my eyes since a wee lad. But again, congratulations on the photos, and your apparent ability to chat/meet with the stars without annoying them "fan-like", which is a real art in itself, good one!
  25. Ahhh lol, gotcha now. Big fan of gate I am! I was physically removed from the "Targa Bar" this year for sh^t stirring (possibly due to excess alcohol), so that may go someway toward my credentials to partake?! Haha
