  1. Not trying to be negative at all, but with steering and brakes, if you dont know what your looking at, you shouldnt be playing with it. that said, you have to learn somehow. easiest way to find out whats what is buy the parts on your list and get under the car with them....you'll soon see what goes where..... af for the exhaust, go get you 2.5in, thats fine on a non turb L24 as well. good luck with it Jason
  2. buy mine..... for about an eighth of that
  3. go get yourself a nice cheap r30 one..... two wires, sorted. bolts right in.
  4. if you havent already fixed it, its definitely your fuel pump. my C210 was doing the same thing(it has the same efi setup as you)

  6. L24e, Has oil leaks, blows no smoke, has no misses. Only replacing as have better engine in shed. $100 Located - Crestmead QLD (South Brisbane - Logan) Pick up only 0400 039 899 Prefer this weekend, but anytime is fine.
  7. Did you use the rb20 or rb30 air flow meter? Make sure the plug on your AFM is on and secure, give it a wriggle while the car is running. If this does nothing its either a dead AFM or the wrong one.
  8. YEAR: 12/1977 MODEL:C210 BODY TYPE:Coupe COLOUR: Black YEAR:12/1978 MODEL:C210 BODY TYPE:Coupe COLOUR: Silver YEAR:04/1981 MODEL:C210 BODY TYPE:Sedan COLOUR: Blue
  9. ill post how to set static timing when i get home from work....i dont have time right now.(see post time)
  10. Put the electronic distributor back in, the two wire are in a "T" shape, the wire at the top of the "T" goes to the negative side of your distributor, the other one goes to the positive side, simple as that. by"kicking over" do you mean it fires but wont run, or do you mean it is winding over but wont fire?
  11. Ok, well i was going to say factor on about $1000 for a basic rebuild with flat tops, forgies will cost about $1000 on top of that. Get some minor portwork done around the bowls(about 400 more) and a mid sized cam. Balancing is a good idea on the old Lseries, they are a rough old motor at the best of times. As far as fuel supply goes, a set of webers is ideal but SU's(or CD strombergs) will suffice, failing these carb setups an old weber off a falcon isnt a bad little upgrade, but the inlet manifold will restrict you....maybe a 280C manifold will be larger, i never tried it. A set of extractors and a 2.5in exhaust will have the whole package sounding tough and going quite well too. Manual Conversion List: Manual box(duh) clutch pedal and all springs/pivots/clips clutch master cylinder master to slave pipe slave cylinder spigot bush(for in the end of the crankshaft....12 bucks i thinks from nissan) flywheel mmmmmm....i think thats all if you are going to do this yourself, don't forget to pull the cap off the end of the crankshaft, or your flywheel wont fit. cheers, jason
  12. The geometry in the r30 is more advanced than the C210, so bolting in half of the suspension components isn't a great idea. The only way to do it to drop the rear cross member out, semi trailing arms and all. you can swap the shocks/springs or not, they are interchangeable either way. That should help, Jason
  13. havent touched the conversion since my last post....... slack hey. the tunnel narrows too soon for the box to sit where it does when ive got the engine mounted like i have, if i move the engine forward or used a shorter box it would fit fine.
  14. or the same grey as the panel behind the number plate, otherwise, nice work mate
  15. mine are still all for sale....... 1 253 v8 coupe with front panel damage 1 coupe with rb30 in the bay 1 completely stock sedan (c211)
  16. extractors, weber carb off XF falcon, (needs an adapter), 2.5in exhaust. then a camshaft. oh, and lose the stock plastic fan and fit a thermofan....ive had 3 stock fans go thru radiators due to over revving, happy modding!
  17. happy birthday erin, hope you liked your card and pressie
  18. just to throw a spanner in the works, my C210 coupe (the now crumpled V8 one) says on the build plate 240K, not skyline, but all othe C210s ive seen say skyline on the build plate. it is a very ealy C210 tho, the vin no is KMGC210 000321
  19. Welcome to the world of c210's As you have found, they arent all that common, but parts are there if you look hard enough. just around the southside of brisbane there are a few wreckers with parts still available, and you can find SOME new parts on yahoojapan auctions. I have 2 coupes for sale(one average but fitted with a v8, yes its legal. and another in good condition-minus engine and box.) and a sedan that i am currently using, but is for sale too for the right money.
  20. Yep, what he said. Also the L28 is a direct bolt in, gearbox and everything. the Rb will require fabrication of engine mounts, gearbox Xmember and tailshaft as a bare minimum
