  1. Roy: I'm happy to help transporting your car if i can.. where is it now?
  2. My cars going to Bens tomorrow as well hah, He told me he was finishing up your engine today Jack, thats good
  3. CSL may be a different story, but my friend (i work with at work) is a BMW nut... knows everything about them He was the one who called BMW and the official word from thier customer service department was no, not covered for track use... He also has a friend who is a senior/head mechanic at a BMW dealership... a story he told us was 1 customer blew up 2 engines in an M3, they replaced them under warrenty, then heard he was racing around sandown, so sent a PI down to take photos and next time he came in for a warrenty claim he was told 'sorry'.... he did say BMW are pretty good with warrenty stuff, but if you start taking the piss and blatently blowing things up due to race use, then no luck. So its probably a mates rates thing, if your mate is a manager of a BMW dealership then i guess he can just overlook the fact you've taken it on the track. lucky bastard
  4. Sorry but it was your choice to import, you must of done the research and decided it was better to import rather than buy one of the billion gtst's for sale already here in OZ.
  5. Yeah thanks for that, i gave them a call and sent of a fax this arvo, so i should be there, pending they confirm my spot
  6. crap only just found this thread, how could i have missed it... anyone know if theres any spots left?
  7. Just called BMW, they say there is defiantly no manufacturers warranty for the M3 if used on the race track (same as any other car)
  8. Yeah E46 M3 is my next car hopefully A stock GTR vs stock M3 (no exaust etc..) would be pretty close i'd imagine... I don't know that much about the M3, but i don't think its as modable as a GTR - ie throw onexaust, up boost, and tune etc... and it should pull away from the M3... because the M3 does it on a N/A 3.2litre it doesn't have as much room to move... i heard the E46 M3 had problems with throwing rods in the states... As for the manufacturers warrenty on a race track, who told you that meshmesh? thats interesting i've never heard that. are you talking about the CSL or the normal M3?
  9. haha that red VL seems to have an intercooler for a front bar hahahha
  10. Maybe 2 of them aren't actually in use? and they just didn't take them off?
  11. i voted sub, mate just bought a 2nd hand RS sedan, its not to bad, (i dont like the look of them) but for what you want, it drives pretty nice and grips the road. I'd go for a 2002 model B4 - they were 60k new, you can pick them up now for about 30k.. my mate owns one who i car pool with to work, it handles well, has a bit of go when you need it, and, has 4 doors, full leather interior... When i get over the GTR i'll definatly be looking at one or the new GT... (If i can't afford my M3)
  12. Most of the red light cameras are duel speed/red light these days, i'm always paranoid driving through any set of traffic lights... your best hope is that they had run out of film in the camera/it wasn't full operational yet.
  13. I don't think any of the R32's came with an airbag? Just putting the airbag steering wheel on won't make the airbag work, you'd have to transplant all the other stuff with it, sensors, airbag computer etc... I think it would be pretty difficult to do... I know the R34 GTR steering wheel fits R33 GTR, but the airbag doesn't work, different computer etc...
  14. Doesn't reverse share the fork with 5th? does 5th work? Does it just physically not go into gear? or do its go into gear but just act like its in neutral?
  15. ylwgtr2 knows his stuff so whatever he tells you i'd believe If its a stock RB26, stock turbos, 14psi is on the safe side... if you want a push a little more a lot of people run 1 - 1.1bar on stock turbos... power with stock turbos and stock fuel system will probably net you around 250-280rwkw
  16. Not sure about the timing sorry... What mods does the engine have? stock turbos? stock fuel system?
  17. all these options listed here should help softer swaybar settings in the front than the rear should also help
  18. Not sure what kind of knowledge you have with cars/tuning, but if you don't know much about these cars it may be worth getting someone else who does know them to tune it, but if you are from where your location says then, good luck
  19. I don't have spacers on my car, but i don't think the wheels fill the guards enough, so i want some Go to http://www.racepacemotorsport.com/rpmgtr.html there will be a photo pop up of Bens car with R34 GTR wheels, he has spacers on them in that photo, you can see how they fill the guards a lot more.... the wheels still look awesome on R33 GTR's, mine have been repainted and darkened a bit from standard colour (they came with the car like that) but i was going to put R34 GTR rims on any R33 GTR i got anyway. Good luck with the sale, good price for a series3!
  20. Nice car, even better price... how do you like the 34 Rims on it? Do you have spacers with them?
  21. If you want a little more response than 2530's, try GT-SS
  22. Whats Rear Bar Reo ?
  23. Theres no way of telling how long the engine/car will last before you buy it... best thing is to budget some spare money to fix things when they break initially, fix them once, and then look after them... as the other thread i just read before this said - the RB engines last a long time when they are looked after and not modified... even modified can last a while when they are looked after.
