  3. which r33? a non turbo is pretty good i guess on maintence and fuel.... a turbo can chew petrol if you get it on boost alot and can cost a bit more to maintain a modified turbo can put a deep hole in your wallet for fuel and maint also depends on how you look after it as with any car
  4. Those mountains are awesome.... i realy want to go to japan to snowboard some... hmmm
  5. If you speak to the panel beater about it, i dont see why he wouldn't agree - if its cheaper, he could still charge the insurance company for the stock front bar and keep the difference *shrugs* doesn't hurt to ask i wouldn't ask the insurance company tho
  6. Yeah, not a fan of people who put GTR badges on Gtsts.... there is no difference between doing that, and the people who put 'type r' bages/stickers on thier hondas, or 'm3' badges on thier 318is... a guy at work saw my car and was like yeah i used to have one, he told me it was a gtst but it went as hard as a gtr etc.. etc.. he sent me photos, there was a GTR badge on it and he said 'mate it went as hard as a gtr so its allowed to have that badge' ... next time i saw him he was with a mate and i asked him how the fake gtr was and his mate was like 'so it wasn't even a gtr you said it was' haha
  7. Interesting... i was/am sceptical... i would love to see Sydneykids response about something like this Ska did a good job of keeping a diary, but (and no offence) seems like he's a noob like most of us here (including me)....
  8. Might have to show up to this, wonder if i can drag dent and steve along ....

    Whinge, Stress.

Good idea ... just apply for other jobs, anything sounds like it will be better than what you're at now.. as soon as you get a new job you can tell these guys what you think
  11. JAMESW - would be interested in how the headlights come out, if its not to expensive and they come out good, would definatly be worth it !! Let us know how it goes
  12. meshmesh: yep the photo is directly behind that part yes i can get my hands behind that part (akwardly) yeah i'll take off those bolts and see whats behind... just from what you said seemed like i didn't have too, maybe a different mechanism... thanks
  13. JAMESW - how much did that cost?
  14. Will do, thanks (i make such a big deal about nothing don't i )
  15. Emre - that extension is the one that has the blocked off part the extension is probably 15-20cm long?... inside that its blocked whats the lining for?
  16. I'll take a photo of it later, the part and the part thats blocked off... yeah i didn't want to go puncturing it, but i figured it would help block off the hot air from inside the engine bay... How do i tell if i have the linings inside my guards?
  17. The parking/side lights come out from behind the headlight - the same as the low/high beams... you put your hand in there (hope you dont have big hands) and very akwardly twist it about 1/4 turn, and it comes out, you put your new globe in, and put it back in, with a 1/4 turn and done takes a bit of patients and a few cramps in the hand from the akward angles
  18. http://gtr.ferni.net/photos/misc/bootlock.jpg Took a photo - can't tell what the dark grey/black steel clip is... looks like to me those 2 bolts need to come off?
  19. Thanks 400HP Does anyone know if its worth doing? remove the whole black plastic thing? or maybe just puncture through the bit that is covering it?
  20. my gtr has plastic lights... i would like to clean them aswell. they aren't that dirty, just a bit mucky, i think its the inside mainly tho - is it easy to disasemble to clean the inside or not?
  21. Starter motor could be on its way out.. could have dust in it.... best to get someone to look at it...
  22. I was looking around under my bonnet last night, and cleaned out the air filter. I noticed that it has 2 point of entry for air, one coming from the top front of the bonnet, and the other from the side, but looking closer at the side one, it is blocked off.... is that normal? whats the purpose of it?

    Mystique

you can't use a firewall to block an ip all internet connections need to come from an IP address, otherwise the server doesn't know where to send the data back... you could proxy your net connection, but there would still be the IP of the proxy
  24. meshmesh: i just ordered a new lock from the guy you recommended - $52 including shipping - pretty good. Hopefully will get it this week in the mail.. i had a quick look behind my lock in the boot, and saw some bolts etc... looks like these need to come out first, is that right? i may have to take you up on that offer of help if i can't figure it out
  25. Update: just found the metal part that i'm missing in my driveway (its a stone driveway so not easy to see), but doesn't look like it clips back in - anyone know how these bits are attached?
