  1. thanks... what you say makes a lot of sense... I guess time will tell.
  2. I need a bit more practice.... might slow everyone else down but I'll say im in.
  3. got any examples/ideas of what else it might be then? I am only going by what CRD have told me and would be happy to hear other ideas as it could save me a lot of money... the problem I am having is major loss of power at high revs.... boost "flutters" really bad (e.g. up then down then back up etc...)... On a dyno I got 3 totally different figures after the car was all warmed up and ready to go... figures differed by about 20rwkw each time... sorry about the thread hijack muffas....
  4. apparently the boost solenoid kit for the power fc has been known to cause a few problems. I got mine put in a while ago and the boost is all over the place.... I went to croydon and they suggested trying a different boost controller... I haven't got around to it yet but it could be something worth looking into for you...
  5. Well I got my 2 kits (thanks MELV) and although I haven't actually fitted them yet... I'd just like to say I'm impressed. They seem to be really good quality... especially for the price. I am a bit confused as to how I am going to fit the rear one on.... my muffler seems to get in the way.
  6. It was a very good day.... if there is another I will be back for sure. shame about the no shows...
  7. nah mate you need at least 5" for your needs
  8. Well I got my powerFC + boost controller installed and tuned the other day... made a nice 40rwkw gain from the pfc and extra boost (up to 1bar). I unfortunately had to get 3 new coil packs at the same time cause mine were r00ted. Also had to get new spark plugs in at the same time..... which kinda blew out the "budget" of what I was expecting to pay.... Anyway I was happy with that cause of the great power gain.... and then... stuck it on a dyno the next day and had lost 30kw in 24 hours. Not really sure what the problem is yet... could have something to do with a boost leak or more faulty coil packs or maybe something totally different (car is doing a few funny things)... The moral of the story.... plan for things to go wrong. If I have to fork out more money tomorrow I will be screwed!! so whenever you are doing something big like that, have a backup.... end rant.
  9. sounds like it was fun.... just dissapointed I couldn't make it
  10. Can you send me pics to [email protected] please. preferrably pics of a purple kit if you can...
  11. I tend to agree with what John said. While I do think some cops hassle import drivers, it also takes a level of stupidity to get their attention in the first place. I have had my r33 for over a year now and havent been pulled over in it once... I think if there was going to be a R34 GTR driving around, it would be a personal car being used by the cops... Oh and Lozza... Blitzkrieg is a PC game!!!
  12. I should be there... depending on if I remember to bring some clothes to change into after work...!!
  13. As I have said before, I agree with what tosh said.... but I still think power/weight restrictions should apply... at least for red P platers... I have seen so many P platers driving dangerously (not just dangerous to themselves, but to others) in powerful cars and it is just wrong. Nobody that has only been driving for a year of less would have enough experience to be able to handle a big car (say v8 for example) safely. Fair enough there is possibly exceptions to this but in most cases I think it would be true.
  14. if it was already in australia when you got it they could be pedders...
  15. tell me about it... I went a away for a week... left my car just washed sitting in the garage and when I get back I need to wash it again... but I still love it... If you want a white one buy a white one... only bother getting a respray if you want something custom...
  16. I think you will find that you have to pay freight and customs (depending on the size of the package)... but best to check with the company you are planning to buy off
  17. ahh so glad my network is firewalled to the max... have managed to get through all of this without any of my systems getting infected... I feel sorry for the help desk guys at work though.
  18. why not send some money over to some poor country? you probably wouldn't appreciate a car like that anyways...
  19. better put me down for this one... I'm sure a few other coasties will be up for it too...
  20. it will work but is dangers like everyone said... better off getting an adjustable boost controller.
  21. as long as you have the compliance papers and engineers reports etc you should be able to sort it out. contact the compliance place or place you bought it from and see if you can track down the plate... if not you might have to see if you can get one from canberra (very hard to do)... papers are usually all you need to register it though.
  22. I will be getting my power FC + commander (hand controller) and boost controller in the next few weeks. As far as I know you will need the commander to change settings for the boost controller. Boost controller for the power FC uses the same solenoid as the avc-r. my suggestion would be.... if you are going to get a power fc but dont want to get it all at once just get a cheap adjustable boost controller (around $70)... obviously it wont be electronic for this price... but once you have got the power fc + commander you can get the boost controller to go with it later on.... Sorry if any of this doesn't make sense.... just drove home from qld in a 180 so I am a bit tired...
