yeah its been about 2 years for me too, before that i'd been smoking for 14 years. Best move i ever made. I already feel a million bucks better. I used to always claim that i'd quit when i no longer enjoyed smoking, and i think i stopped enjoying it long before i realised it. After that it was will power and patches. Patches are awesome, i had the most vivid nightmares for about the first week or so... i loved it, it was like a free high quality horror flick. I keep tihnking about buying more just so i can relive the trip

The V Series Spotted Thread
Messiah replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
this is gonna be tough cos i've never closely examined an S2 but..... an 05 S2 i looked at buying didnt have HID projecter lamps the onboard comp had a different gui the tail lights looked a little different (i tihnk the S3 has some embossed circles around the indicater and break lamps where as the others are smooth but this is a guess) gear stick looks different (this might be a s1 vs s2/3 difference) the gear boot on my car has single leather sheathed auth stick, and doush have the crooked gate with a plastic cover in the centre console. I think there might be more but i've never had a chance to closely compare... would be good to get a comparison done tho. -
saw your car on the weekend Merli, looking good. feck those brakes look even bigger in the flesh. I dont like the roof racks you added tho, sure racing with your luggage on the roof will throw the balance of a little.

White 35 just after the air port tunnel heading north past the bp last week... complemented them on their car. I was in the red S3 v35 Seen a few silvers on the drive between the city and capt cook bridge too. -
I'm in a bit of a conundrum. I have a 93 R33 GTS25T sat at home. Current unregistered and needs the rainbow of slips to get done. Now it has a few mods so i'd need an engineers cert to get it done in current form. Mods K&N Pod in a carbon enclosed airbox. Turbo Smart E-Boost, 3 Inch turbo back exhaust (drones and annoys me) Apexi PFC Adjustable rear upper arms. HIDS Brand new 18" Work CR Kai's (bronze) with a set of new falken 452's on them. Now heres the rub, as i said this car needs to be engineered to be registered as is. but needs the following to get through New exhaust - the current one has a high flow cat and a Bit arse tip, its gotta be too loud. New shocks, the current ones are old and leaky. To make all this worse, i bought the mrs a new 350gt, so now i kinda want a new car too (thinking GTR or RX7) but maybe i should just keep what i have. So opinions people... what to do??? Options i can think of. Cheap stockish fixes and sell it. Revert it to stock, sell it, and sell the bits separately. Quality Fixes and sell it, Quality fixes and keep it. Oh and its ultra uniqure super rare gunmetal... only 235 million just like it produced. Suggestions

Ever thought of entering politics SK??

Yeah i cant say this is a totally bad thing, i've just never checked how far from the deck a standard skyline is, whats the difference between standard ride height and 100mm?? I do agree in many extents, the amount of idiots i'm seen who join the "drop it and give it 20's" drives me nuts. I'm just wondering what they mean by permission exactly, does this just mean get an engineers cert, or that they want paper work from the RTA before hand specifically allowing you to have the mod performed.

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25790506-29277,00.html apparently now we'll need permission to lower our cars. I understand that lowering it alot can be plain dumb, but 5cm's seems pretty minor.

Sydney Must Do/eat/visit~plz Recommend Some
Messiah replied to Japav's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Didnt think much of Hurricanes as far as steak went. If your after a top of the line steak check out La Grillade in crows nest, the wagyu steak is excellent... and $75. Make sure you order their desert sampler (perfect for 2). Closest train station is st leonards but it will still require a short walk. That said, cab from the cbd, nth sydney or st leonards would stiull be cheapish. For real fine dining on short notice i agree tetsuyas is out of the question... i have a booking in 5 days but i booked that in january. Two great alternatives are Milsons in Kirrabilli, or 41 in chifley tower (42nd floor, great view and the only toilet i know of that will give you vertigo). I've managed to book both on short notice. reserve about $300 for two at milson or $500 for 41. Also the golden.. thingy.. in china town (forgot its name) is a great place... and as a bit of trivia... Chef Tetsuya is also known to eat there. If you hear on a wednesday and its dry... WSID -
yeah bluetooth works a charm... got that going already... even found the option to store phone numbers in it so you can ring using just the computer.

No ticket yet, but i've just plugged my credit card into it so that alyse can keep the fuel topped up after her lead footed antics. Yeah it was a really interesting day, i plan to do a write up on it (infact i've been meaning to ask you if you mind me giving you a mention in a story for carsguide) but i havent had chance. And i dont know how to thank you enough mate, you really did save the day. As for the rest of it. I'm thinking mid next month if the slots open, i think you might have a big todo list tho, everything from dvd to nav to ipod to radio to alarm... say... can you do bluray??? (just because i'm childish). What does everyone think... bluray hi-def on a 7inch screen??
-
i should probably mention the guy originally wanted 42 for it... but dropped it a fair bit when he saw i was willing to take it that day. So yeah... i was reeeeeaaallllyyy lucky.

37k for mine. What are the specs on yours?

The sIII has some styling updates ( i believe the tail lights and the projector head lamp are the most obvious) the sII interior looked much the same however, although the sII i looked at was a manual. Not too sure about the rest... i've seen premium - non premium comparisons but no series comparisons yet. If anyone has an sII in southern sydney i'd be happy to get together to compare and take notes. I believe the cut over was 09/05ish... apparently the sII i looked at was right on the edge.

Well i finally finished my search and bought a 350GT. I'd started out looking for a black late model premium coupe with a 6MT, but after months of searching, waiting for workshops and some entertaining adventures and almost buying a 05 series 2, i ended up with something a little different. A Red Series 3 Premium Auto 06 model, grade 5A 19k km on the clock... the Mrs is very happy (its for her really and she wanted an auto all along). I have to admit... for an auto its not half bad. So now i just have to avoid tinkering too much, but that said, can does anyone know of any worth while mods? I've looked up and read the threads on pods, spacers and z tubes, but it seems this just gives minimal returns. Not only that but i read nissan revised the plenum design in the later models. Now all i have to do is find a good translation of the S3 computer screens... anyone got any info on this yet? if not i might have some info in a few weeks. I'll post some pics as soon as i get a dry day to take them.

uurrgggh.... taking a stab at this on and flashing when indicating is easy.... hook up a relay that switches the light off whenever the indicator power is on..... off and flashing makes my brain hurt as you need to turn the light on AND get it to flash, so you almost need to run on wire to switch the current park light switch/relay on... an also voltage to your new relay to make it flash. It makes sense to me the theory of how its done but as i never studied electronics and as i dont have a diagram... it gives me a nervous tick.

A Question About Skyline V35 350gt
Messiah replied to Tom0956's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
tom, if you want a dealership look at nagoya motors (caringbah) or topsecretimports.com.au (blacktown). If you want to get one imported yourself chat to Kristian at ironchef imports, he'll look after you -
in that case maybe we should just chip in to fly him in and do all our cars. hence no piracy. airfare and cost of install split amongst all people cant be that much.
-
yeah i dont get it... i live in the waters just between toms ugly bridge and cpt cook bridge... every night all i can here is people flat sticking it back and forth. with the ammount of cops about I cant beleive anyone there has a license left.

obligatory.... Any updates??
