  1. i was checking these out too but looking into it the biggest sized tyre is only have a 17inch 215
  2. you should be able to get the sheet cheaper, there is a place in seven hills that sells all sorts of sheet plastics they are on station road. To give you an idea i got the same thing for $20.
  3. Roy, i agree about the cost - not cheap stuff but how are you sure that what you have done is an improvement. The old loud exhaust making the car sound like it is going quicker is a classic and is subjective. Wool tuffs look to be the most cost effective benifit but you actually have to have what you want to test on the car, i think it comes down to how much you are willing to spend to go quicker and the majority of people are probally better off getting more laps in the car to go faster. ....now where is that ebay vortex generator. Matt
  4. Doing a little more reseach as is an area i am interested in it appears that employing some computational fluid dynamics programs would be the best idea to give you real examples of the different effects that adding a Wing and at what angle of attack will give the best amount of downforce with least amount of flow separation. Aerodynamics of motor cars is really quiet a diffacult area to develop and there is a large amount of varying effects that need to be taken into account, i am reading competition car aerodynamics at the moment and it is mind blowing the different things you need to consider. For instance in some cases a rear wing can actually give you less drag? Matt
  5. I think the rule tightening came about due to the increased usage of in car cameras and video recorders now due to the relative cheapness of them and the explosion of youtube type video sharing sites. It is an interesting thing and i have seen plenty of poorly mounted cameras in cars especially at club days and supersprints, matt
  6. Before christmas i was calling around and they had some, Matt
  7. there is a difference to cheating and using everything to win within the rules. Often it is about the wording and what is not written,
  8. Bozman, go past tempe and grab some of the R888's GGG's, these are perfect for flying one lappers like this event.
  9. It almost looks like and un-marked cop car, maybe the boys in blue might be considering it in the future. Beats the heck out of an Lancer
  10. my question is where do you draw the line with what is allowed and what is not, perhaps as time goes on improvements in the rules can cater to how the series is developing and additional classes or further development can be added if needed. The important thing is to involve the people that are competing in the series in the decesions, i think this series will be a great one as more people get involved but might need to run it over a few days in the future.
  11. i know everyone is haveing abit of shits and giggles but do you think the GTR will be doing a 2min 9 sec little bit more during the race or so a lap, the Evo's are doing 2:29's which isn't too bad considering the level or development that has gone into the V8's but 20 odd sec is a fair whack to make up. Wonder what the GTR would actually do around Bathurst?
  12. They wanted $150 for the real big ones, do you know where you can get them cheaper?
  13. Back a while the F1 cars used to use a fan on the rear of the car along with a few other things that used to suck the car to the ground, i am going off on Sunday to bunnings to grab a few nice big industrial sized ones and strap them on.... Matt
  14. i must admit it would be nice to own a piece of motoring history especially something that caused so many antics.
  15. that looks great, seriously tuff. What type of suspension are you looking at putting in?
  16. Interested to see how you went Neil with this?
  17. I didn't say that you have to run it with the Dash, i did say that it is not a cheap option. To start to get some good results things like steering angle, pedal travel or brake pressure and perhaps something like looking at the differences in temps across a particular section - for instance the intercooler, you will need additional sensors. You will need to do a fair bit of stuffing around to plug the factor sensors directly to the DL1 and measure the voltage differences which is a pain, to be honest when you look at it you get good value out of the performnce box unit that has everything done for you and easy to move into and out of different cars. Coming back to the rear wing Roy's idea sounds the best option, Matt
  18. I would try www.vsport.com.au/ but a quick google search has come up with the following which might be worth a try as well, www.pwr.com.au/brakes_intro.html - 34k - www.rocketindustries.com.au/search.php?menu=Brakes&brand=Alcon - 42k -
  19. did you bed them in properly? You might be able to get away with some emry paper lightly sanding the face back a little which can work well, only need to give them a light sand on a flat surface.
  20. the DL1 is not really a cheap option, actually owning and setting one up along with the dash it can actually cost quiet a bit factoring in sensors and labour to install + the purchase price of the unit. Cheaper then some other units though. Matt
  21. they used these cameras for the incar footage on the drifting for the TV so are good quality, the sony one looks even better though as it's HD. Matt
