4show - standard r33 ecu is not nistunable?? *enlighten me, whats VCT? so i could use my standard rb20 ecu and nistune that? (would be best for me because obviously i already have one) Bronx - so s1 stagea rb25 (apparently) = s2 r33 rb25 so should be no problems there? ive dont engine conversions twice on my old s2 rx7 (granted was carbie ) but i hate having surprises / headaches midway through a build... cheers guys

hi, ive got a 1989 r32 gtst-4, rb20 shat itself, so ive sourced a s1 stagea rb25 motor (apparently same as s2 r33 rb25 - can anyone clarify?) i know that the ecu the motor comes with is 'un-nistune-able' (again - clarification please?) so my question is, can i get an r33 s2 standard ecu to run my AWD system or will it just throw fault codes ??? 27mm seems way to small, seems more like 35mm? Car is a gtst4 (same as gtr axle??)

I think it might be 27... I was using a socket (imperial... Haha) and a penetrant and a 3 foot breaker bar and it was bending the jack pole in between the wheel studs (had it there to stop wheel spinning) I'll have a go with a metric socket today

Hi, I'm 3/4 of the way through the removal of my rb20 from my 89 r32 gtst4, have gearbox out (rb20 awd box's same as r32 gtr box's??) and have gotten up to removing the front hub/axle (front right wheel off, I need to get the big central hub but off) but have hit a few snags. 1) does anyone know what size that nut is? Is it 36mm? (my sockets go up to 19.... Great 2) gear box is out, brake booster disconnected etc, can't stop the wheel rotating when I try to undo the big nut with an adj spanner + huge flat blade between wheel studs. The nut seems to be corroded on and f*cking tight, help? I'm now driving an extremely troubled Daihatsu charade so this is pretty urgent. Cheers

Hi, My awd rb20's died and I've got the power bug. Instead of wasting time with another 20, I'm after a 25. I'm chasing 250-260 awkw. I'm not fussed what series stagea it's out of, I'm just after engine and ecu (if my rb20 awd manual ecu won't work? Spewing, there's gotta be someone in Adelaide who can spare 2-3 hours (remember everythings disconnected/ out, just need engine mounts, gbox done etc) and knows what their doing ! I don't have the knowledge / room to do it myself. Remember its an awd motor- how is a pole going to disconnect my front driveshafts / bell housing / engine mounts? The box doesnt have to come out. Surely someone's after some easy money coming into Xmas!? Cheers

I have a r32 gtst-4 (awd rb20) with a spun bearing so I need to get the motor out. I've already disconnected fuel/ wiring/ power steering/ radiator out/ intercooler + piping out etc. I'm after a backyarder (Adelaide) or someone who has the know-how and is willing to do it for me as i can't go any further due to lack of engine crane & knowledge. I've got a mate with a tow truck so transport isn't an issue, I'm at work flat out so I can't check sau much anymore, if you know someone who can help me out text Josh on 0433046838 I have cash waiting for the job. Does anyone know Adrian Browne / can link me so i can PM him / give me his number? he did a turbo engine conversion for my mate in his r33 and was cheap, quick, and good to deal with apparently. My r32's done a bearing and id like a similar job done if possible...itll save me trying to take the crossmember out without a hoist (headf*ck!) *if anyone knows anyone that will take my motor out in adelaide, (car is a manual r32 gtst-4 rb20) yes AWD - please PM me, would love to get the ball rolling however arnt interested in paying rediculous dollars. cheers, Josh.

i recently bought my 32 gts4 after being into rotors for ages too. mine made (oil pump failure = engine dead...) 144 awkw with std ecu, 15psi with rb25 highflow, 3", cold air intake, pod, avcr boost controller, and front mount etc etc. So 188 awkw is pretty good i think ! just make sure you have a good after market gauge for oil pressure and keep an eye on it....

I have a forward facing intake to suit rb20/ others? I bought it a month before my 20 spun a bearing, so going rb25 now and have no use for it. It's a modified standard intake that's been professionally welded and polished to a mirror finish. Looks schmick. Allows you to get rid of about a meter of that pointless 'u turn' intercooler piping and will increase response dramatically. Comes with extra long throttle cable. $350 Ono.

I'm also hunting someone to do the conversion in Adelaide. Anyone know someone good for the job? Garage 7 ? Jazmac ? Cheers

Ok, seems a rebuild is going to be potentially over 5k so rb25 neo from a stagea is the go. Any one know about legality issues with an r32 with a 25 in SA? / knows someone with a neo? Been quoted 2.5 for neo from importers but seems pricey. Cheers

Yeh, I was told if it's a 4wd motor it's all good. However looking like I might be going down the fully forged rb20 route (no stroking) and going all out, getting some head work done and a gt2530 / bigger? And 20ish psi and see weather or not the 250 awkw mark comes into sight
