  1. Damn... I don't think I will be ready to spend 2grand at this stage... I guess I will have to stay powerless for a long while... But thanks anyways
  2. Wow.... was planning to get a PFC too. So it only makes about 15kw difference... But anyway... how much does it cost to get a stock turbo hi-flowed nowadays? Is it worth it, or it's better if I get a new/2nd hand bigger turbo? I don't think I have a high goal for power yet. Cheers Andy
  3. hey... just wandering what difference would hi-flow make? I am getting about 190rwkw @ 11 psi with Stock ECU, EBC, Pod filter, FMIC, Hi-Flow Cat + 3" Cat-back Exhaust and Bosch Fuel Pump.... Would that be the performance of a low-flow turbo?
  4. shifting skill aside.... high 12's are possible too... also depends on when does the boost kick in and where is the torque/power at peak... hope you got a good clutch...
  5. hey! thanks for the reply... does that mean I have to remove the dump to look... or is there an easier why? Cheers guys, Andy
  6. I get that toooo...... Here is my guess....missing front support due to installation of FMIC... or the front bumper rubbing against the IC pipe?
  7. Just wandering, how would you know if a turbo is hi-flowed or not? What's the difference between a hi-flowed or non-hi-flowed stock rb25det turbo? Cheers, Andy
  8. me just want to know if a sub under the parcel tray will pop the speakers? Any one??? cheers!
  9. hahahah.... at the moment I live down in the basement.... stalling and miss shifting every now and then... and can't drive up hills.... (absolute disgrace)
  10. When it comes to rainy days, I am a wuss.... dial the boost down.... accelerate as slow as possible... just in case something happens and I can't handle it...
  11. Accidents do happen. I know you feel bad; no one wish this would happen, but they don't mean it. I personally think that female drivers (most of the time) take more care when they drive. That's why they try to prevent themselves from situations where there need to squeeze through lanes and follow up very close to another car. They might also drive a bit slow. So what? Care and prevention make them good drivers. However they won't be so experienced in that sense (like Mum & GF), when they have to make quick decisions with their car. Reversing into some car or running into someone's rear can happen for anyone, as one's mind might wander off somewhere. Being a "young" bloke, I know how dangerously I drive compared to any girls I know, so I wouldn't say that they are bad anyhow. But when it comes to more elderly people.... it's a different story.....
  12. MYSTR33: When we talk about P-platers I believe we usually refer to those who are under 19.... who got there licence really early and drive around like mad, rather than those who got their licence late....
  13. Yeah.... I reckon all p-platers should be limited to driving only FWDs with less than 6 cylinders NA..... unless proven mentally fit... As if we don't already have enough crazy p-platers down anzac every saturday night... PS: last friday night (28th) on the way to glenelg and back to town, and stopping at some places along the way, I saw the same undercover cop pulled over 4 car with p-drivers along the anzac hwy and brighton rd... so BEHAVE...
  14. Jeeeeppperrs.... I can only do about 340km for a tank....
  15. I heard that even with the base map you still need some 20-40 minutes for the system to "feel" the car before you can drive it...
  16. If you read initial-D comics... you will see a guy does that with no mods too.... foot work... just kidding or you can swap engine with me~ jk again Honestly, the safest way IMO is to use a torque distributor thingy like grid dancer... this way you have a choice depending on the driving condition...
  17. Hey.... I was looking at some other forums, and saw that some people's rear speakers had holes put in by the subwoofer. What really happens there?
  18. BTW cool system.... I wish I have something like that too... but I need my boot space.
  19. Hmm.... it seems that the top right corner of the aircon control slot is at an diagonal... does that mean it would have to be cut to fit the stereo... and then you would have a triangular hole in the middle
  20. Sounds dodgy... What about engine number and VIN number? I used to think they are registered with your compliance plate... Don't know much about laws and regulations...
  21. I agree with 08Elf.... you must also consider the long run costs of the car.... How much is each 10k service, when do things needs to be replaced.... tyre sizes/costs.... fuel economy.... further more you have to consider the comfort factors like the interior finishes... what you can and cannot change... space practicality (remember the r33 boots) You should really consider a test drive with your fiance, if you haven't already done so... (Girls need to be comfortable with what they drive, and I think we guys can get used to driving anything) I personally prefer subarus.... because I borrow my friend's subby to go on the beaches every now and then. I am really thinking about hand my skyline to my little bro in 3yrs time, so I can get a subaru (probably a liberty though, which has higher maintanance cost than imprezas)
  22. From what I see, I am very tempted to buy from the States. However I wanted to buy a subwoofer and an amp from them, instead of the head unit. (Alpine Type-R 12" for less than US$100 and an Amp for about $200...) apparently the shipping fee will cost about US$150 including insurance. Would this be cheaper than AU by alot (given that sub and amps are heavy stuff)? What I mean is, has anyone bought subwoofers from the US? is it worth it, compared to the head unit? Cheers...
  23. I have 255/40R17s too on my 17x9s. And according to yokos website... 255/40R17 are suited for rims with width 8.5~10"....
  24. That's true... but my friend did his R34 rear bumper... and was quoted $945 (not sure including shipping or not)... but he's been told to wait 2 months for it... so he just got full body kit from somewhere else for about the same price... (fitted painted in 1 week)
