Thanks for the info Sydneykid, unfortunately I havent seen a Per4manz highflow, but I have seen some outstanding results from some of their custom turbos - I have alot of respect for them as a turbo company. Also appologies Shane.

Looking @ selling my R33 Skyline (421rwhp)
Steve replied to RNS11Z's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Man it breaks my heart to hear of people selling cars with this much work for under 50K I have already spend 30k on mine (just over actually), as I bought it stock. I havent even rebuilt the engine yet, as I dont have a spare 8k lying around. Even then, I have had to shop far and wide to get bits at good prices, which aint easy. Why are you doing this, seriously - I just cant understand how you can pour so much money into a car and then sell it, and so cheaply Some ball park conservative figures Wheels $2.5k+ Cooler (and pipes) $1.1k (then fitting) wastegate $500 Turbo $2.5k ECU $1.8k (then the tune and install) diff 800+ Clutch 1k EBC $500 Manifold $1k+ Plenum?? Fuel pump and surge tank $500 (not including the fuel lines) Injectors $1k+ Catch can $200 BOV $200 Engine build 8k+ Body kit fitted and paint (with compelete respray) 2.5-3k min Sus 1.2k+ stereo 1k alarm 200 MSD $800 seats $500+ turbo timer $100 rebuilt box $???? tint $300. Dude thats 30 000 dollars in mods, and the above prices are pretty conservative, and mostly dont include labour. I am sure like most cars there are dozens of other little things that all add up and when you consider the cost of labour - how many people really appreciate that it costs 1k to remove and fit an engine for a build, or $200 to fit sus, about the same to fit a clutch. Tune ups cost 3-600 a go. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????? this really kills me. (sell me your diff please:D) -
Just thought I would give JMS a call - they do not have a shop in sydney. I would appear stimps you are either very confused or full of shit. Either way I think it is a good idea to get stuff right before you start to post up making claims. There is enough dis-information around already, adding to it doesnt help. A warning to others that may listen too long or hard to your comments.

I dont think it would make a huge difference from a performance point of view, apart from pipework being a bit longer if you go with the stock location, but I had a couple of other considerations that I used in the choice, they were: I was planning on swapping to a front facing plenum I wanted the hole that is freed up in the front of the engine bay to be used for a CAI For the size of cooler I wanted, it was difficult to find one with an end tank design suited to using the stock pipe locations.
-
Stimps, where abouts it the JMS shop in sydney? do they have a web site up?
-
Sydneykid, where did you hear about JMS's R33? Usually that sort of news spreads pretty quickly in SA, but I havent heard a thing yet.

Quick qn - throttle cable for Greddy Intake
Steve replied to Ronin 09's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
GTiR thottle cables fit too, not too sure if Nissan stock them, but I believe hills motorsport have them as they use them with their plenum upgrades. -
Congrats! I am sure the new owners will be happy, but as the others say, they will be missed on the streets of adeliade (as no doubt you will miss them). Good luck with the build ups, hope all goes well and you can be out playing soon:D

Sydneykid, have you ever tested a 370cc injector at 58psi? Also, I realise that bosch pumps are rated at 75psi, but would mounting the pump inline after a surge tank have any bearing on the max flow potential, also have you ever tested a bosch pump to see if it flows what it is rated at? I wouldnt put it past bosch to rate pumps on the lean side, as if someone took there figures and then the pump didnt match they would probably have good grounds for a legal suit. might be interesting if the increase flow on injectors varied exponentially instead of linearly as pressure increased. this wouldnt be so evident at smaller increases in fuel pressure - might go further to explaining the seemingly impossible. Just guessing, but there must be a reasonable explanation for this, and I think its a bit of a cop out to just say the dyno is reading high.
-
Well, I can name a couple of guys here in SA off the top of my head, one making just under 350rwhp another over 350rwhp - that was on the morpowa dyno, tuned by martin donnon (in one case) - and he doesnt fudge figures to cater to anyones ego. The problem I beleive is often people just dont want to believe that something is possible if it flies in the face of everything they have thought to be true. As for dyno figures in WA, there is a dynojet dyno in Myaree (suburb of perth) that reads incredibly high - I had a mate in WA that had 298rwhp with a turbo back and 12psi of boost on an R33, alot of people who just want a figure to brag about use it, its one that is favoured I believe by X-speed, so you are quite right to think along those lines. The dyno that Paul used isnt that dyno - its a dyno dynamics dyno. I have seen a handful of kw difference between dyno dynamics dynos, but not as much as people are suggesting. I dont blame you for being sceptical, it is pretty bloody incredible - but maybe there is something new for people to learn here.
-
The only high flow I have seen of an RB25 turbo, that wasnt just a change of wheels and machining of housings, used a garrett core - its the one B-man bought from GCG. This also explains the greater than off the shelf cost for their high flows. Eagerly awaiting the phots:)
-
There are more than just WA guys making over 260rwkw with stock injectors - unless you think all dyno dynamics dynos are out? You would have to be winding in huge correction figures to be out by over 60 hp - it just isnt happening.
-
didnt he say it was 11.5/1?
-
mose, sorry - chalk that up to assumption With forged pistons, prepped rods and crank, balance etc you should be good for 25lbs+ boost with the right ecu etc. Seems a shame you dont get a GT30 or similar and wind in 20 or so pounds and have a blast before you sell it - god I would be itching:)
-
My injectors all flowed within 1%
-
Interesting too that the power is better at lower boost than the XTR GT3040 fitted to Ben Ellis's R34 with cams. 11sec car there with the right rubber (and driver:D) Would be interesting to see how much manifold back pressure there is with that turbine housing.
-
Well done Paul, what a great result. What red line are you running? Also, was that a 4th gear dyno run? Nice wide power band too, a really nice looking dyno, time to buy some nittos:D And I reckon the reason you are getting all that power with stock cams is because you have a trust plenum - flows so much better than the stocker obviously:p Have to see how mine goes with the new plenum:D It is pretty awesome result esp with those injectors - all those out there that say it cant be done, one possible reason (might stop your brain hurting sydneykid:D): I have heard that the stock injectors actually flow around 10% higher than their rating, so around 407cc/min, it is quite possible that the bosch pump actually flows higher than rated as well - a couple of pounds is not excessive AND the trust plenum actually flows really well at higher cfm when under boost. See, not so incredible now is it. Once again congrats Paul, nice work. I think you should get those a/f ratios around 11.8-11.9 though, still pretty safe and see if you cant get a few more ponies. At least you dont have to worry about killing the ringlands as forgies are going in.

At the end of the day, its your engine, tell us what you think would be fair. If you are selling your car you are mad to leave a fully prepped engine in there - what is the asking price for your car? Also, why are you doing the turbo if you are selling it? (your car)
-
Yeah well there is always one in every crowd
-
Easy, by mulitplying by 0.734(approx) If you really wanted to freak people out you could start expessing calorific value in hp! That would keep them guessing:) or they would call the guys in the white coats.
-
I heard one from an old torana, car didnt look like much at all - geez I would of love to have a look under the bonnet.
-
:bahaha: those old school guys just woundnt have a clue, obviously time to run a mile if you hear that. With so many good second hand exhausts around these days - I bought a Nismo cat back that retails for over $3000 for $700 and it was in near new condition and excellent quality (even has a carbon fibre surround on the tip, gotta love the rice touches:D) - its hard to understand why you would buy a aust made exhaust only to pay more and get less.
