  1. 7.5" rims? OMFG, I will have trouble getting my rego transferred from SA. Are there any places over here that will hire bits to get cars over the pits?
  2. hi all, Just wondering if anybody has had any experiences with the Kazama 350 turbo. Specifically what sort of power at what boost and where it started making boost, ie, how much lag. Also, what sort of response from the turbo? Thanks for ANY input. Steve
  3. If you are importing it, it must be stock when complied. After that you can mod it. Permits are issued by the pits, whether or not you will get a permit depends on what exactly you do. For example, wheels can be changed, but the track must not be exteneded by more than 25mm. For best results, I would suggest you call dpi and get it straight from the horses mouth. G/L
  4. what is AFARCC
  5. Are there any skid pans in perth?
  6. Original LSD, forget it. Bite the bullet and get a 2 way - huge difference to predictablility and control when the back end is out. Whiteline make adjustable sway bars. LOCK THE HICAS - a must. Get some castor happening, adjustable rods arent too expensive, or bushes if you are on a budget. Good coilovers (Tein, Kei office, Tanabe, Silk Road, etc). Make sure you buy them with spring rates suited to drift for best results. Drift button. Pineapples and/or hardmount cradle bushes. Good brake pads, front and rear. You may need to replace some of the stock bushes if they are tired/worn. Your car will handle like a weapon If you are planning extended thrash sessions, consider a good oil cooler as well. There are alot of other mods you can do, that will all help improve steering response, feedback and handling generally, be prepared to put a huge hole in the bank account if you want to do the works. Other things that are worth the trouble, IMHO, is mission mount, strut braces, aftermarket camber and toe adjust, and rack ends. There are a few things to consider in all, remember you dont need them all at once - personally I would start with diff and hicas lock then go from there
  7. Drift in WA - I wish, I wish, I wish. I just came over from SA, and yeah its gaining momentum there nicely, as it is in nsw, vic and qld. Does anybody have an idea of the cost of collie track? or contact details where I could find out? Nice cruise and a bit of dorifto, might be worth organising as a monthly event, or even a one off. As for a drifter, S13 manual would be the ticket for entry price, handling and cost effective, ie with very little mods and they handle very well. Plenty of parts around too. Thats MHO anyways.
  8. different manufacturers use different colours
  9. Thanks for the replies, I am selling because I have bought a SIL80 and cant afford to keep both. I am after around 22k, and will be loosing a fair bit on it, as is usual when selling a car, especially when you buy a stocky and start modding
  10. Hi guys, well it is time to get rid of the skyline, and concentrate on my other car. those of you who have sold your 'line, which advertising medium got the trick done for you? any hints for a speedy and as close to possible hassel free sale? cheers Steve
  11. Just saw the update - check plugs to injectors and injector harness. Remove the outlet to the fuel rail, to make sure fuel is getting to the rail.
  12. If you think it is electrical, first place to look is the CAS and ignitor - check that the plugs are properly in place - good idea to check all other plugs on the harness too, not forgetting things like the alternator. Check all the wiriing to make sure there are no signs of wear, brittle wires from heat (around turbo) or any melted bits. Also it may be worth checking the CAS to make sure it isnt loose and has moved. Another one, check the coil packs and plugs to make sure they are in good condition. Fault finding can be a bitch, good luck.
  13. Rears, once again any decent jap pad would do wonders. If you are thinking drift, a set of dedicated drift pads would be the shot - such as URAS or endless, they both do them. Fronts are around $295 from D1 Garage, otherwise, check out greenline. Price would be similar as post is going to be a problems as they are heavy items to import.
  14. Brake pads - even if you upgrade the discs and calipers, they will not make a 'huge' difference if you continue to use stock pads. A killer set of jap pads make a massive difference - endless SS-S is my favourite for the fronts, very good initial bite, low dust, dont fade (well didnt up in the adelaide hills ) as they are rated to around 500 deg C. The difference of fitting a good set of pads cannot be over- rated. If you want something for the track, then an upgrade to brakes and pads may be the way to go, but seriously, upgrade of the pads is a MUST either way if you want stopping power.
  15. I have one, not the type with the flanges, but the 80mm weld in line type. Huge difference, my car is just plain rude with it open, when shut it is quiet enough that it wont wake the neighbours. Power is cut because of back pressure, I can only get 0.6bar with it shut. Good investment if your car is loud. If it drones, probably more a case of exhaust design. They sell them for $350 at D1 Garage in SA.
  16. morlock, I had just about every suspension mod done to my 33, if you have any specific questions, let me know, but the bottom line is you can spend as much as you like. What are you actually trying to do with the car? Drift, drag, circuit? What sort of ride do you want? Some mods are worth doing more than others though for sure.
  17. If you get stuck, could I suggest you try someone like www.d1garage.com or www.japanesemotorsport.com.au I know James (D1 garage) had one laying around late last year, as I borrowed it to get my car over the pits in SA. Shouldnt want much in the way of $$ for it, as generally they are considered nothing more than balast. good luck
  18. As mentioned, drop the CR and it should be fine. The Japs have been doing it for a long time - another good example is the JMS R33, been going strong for some time.
  19. Thanks heaps for that
  20. bump, someone must have had their injectors serviced here? and happy new year all
  21. Hi all, just wondering if anybody could recommend a place to get injectors serviced? cheers heaps and have a great christmas and new year Steve
  22. "heard" the nissan patrol clutch fits and is an upgrade over standard- dont know if your local nissan dealer would be able to confirm size and spline details. Saw a write up on the performace forum, might be worth a look
  23. And D1 Garage at nth plypton. For the half cut, James (of D1 garage) is currently in Japan - gets back on 10 dec. He could possibly source you a half cut while he is over there if you have no luck locally.
  24. Different car to the 33, but nice to throw around - like a go cart on steroids love it. Just got to get the afm and injectors in so I can tune it.
  25. Firstly, dont buy any car without inspecting it first - if a car is cheap, 9 chances out of 10 there is a good reason for it. Think whether you would sell a car at alot less than its worth? I think you need to decide what you want from the car - 33s and 180s are different platforms. Also, sorry to throw a curveball, but if you are looking at spending 15K on a 180 with minimal mods - take a look at the S14. 5 stud brakes, with larger calipers, more powerful engine (variable cam on inlet), interior is nicer, and if you get an aussie delivered one insurance will be alot cheaper. Good luck with your choice.
