Well you all don't notice it, so it doesn't matter... Basically QC issues which is no biggie unless you know, but enough to deter even their own employees. I swear these guys will not buy a Nissan, even when they can sell it at employees discounts to mates, they won't buy one. Quote: they must just not want the headache of recalls. Which luckily in Japan they are very strick on recall so really there's nothing to worry. But here's a tip, something you guys should check before you buy any import, make sure all outstanding recalls on the car to date has been fixed FOC no matter how old. Quite often Japanese with their busy work schedule and owners changing new cars every 2-3 years...some don't bother to take the car back to get defects fixed. Sell it and let whoever buys it next deal with it. Unless there are complete papers with the car to say a recall defect has been fixed you will have to call up Nissan. Usually when you register the car in Japan, the department of transport will cross check the compliance plate with their database and inform the owner if there are any outstanding recalls. If you want to check for defect notice it's on the Nissan Japan website (Japanese only), don't freak when you see the number of recalls...Japan is that strick. In general this information is provide by all makers on their website.

I don't think prices will drop...realistically a good 4.5 grade at the auctions will still be $30K+ when landed when you filter in the exchange rate which the Aussie dollar is currently looking better, freight, tax, compliance. You probably want to buy soon as well with the dollar still looking good. If you haven't noticed the Japanese economy is recovering at a rapid rate, the Yen is the only currency out of the 4 including the Euro, UK Pound and Canadian dollar which is still continuing to rally against the US dollar.

LOL...got your reply. You certainly been busy, let's catch up before then. But I won't be around during golden week.

AFAIK...Skylines in particular the GT-R is made from Nissan Tochigi plant. Been there and also to their test track. I know a few people who work at the plant, well pretty hard not to when nearly every person in Tochigi works for Nissan. Thus I have heard some nasty and dodgy stuff...which is why none of them own a Nissan

Dave we also called them Micra. We only have K11, K12 were not brought in. I like the new march and have seen a few worked ones around my area.
-
hahaha...you will also be scratching you head when you have to worked through and decide which one you want to buy. Last time I wanted to buy an MP3, I was there for an hour playing with them all then walked out even more confused, in the end I didn't bother getting one...

Beautiful Dave....beautiful!!! Jus: The weekend rain wasn't very helpful was it, but today was beautiful only took some around my area under the shinkansen line.

Justin: have you had dinner at Kobeya kitchen on 171?
-
Yeah I have always wondered that too, like a Diablo with .. .1 or a BNR32 with .. 32 that surely can't be a coincidence? Dave: 88 are also used for cops...thus any unmarked sedan type car with 88 becareful. Also with tax code, they also include vehicle dimension...wtf the wider the car the more tax you have to pay because you are taking up more road space. Yes I'm bitching because I'm also 300 , the price you pay to have wide tracks and pumped guards.

Generalization regarding all aspects... I feel no one will ever feel 100% comfortable, it goes for any where you are not a local. Especially with people who comes from countries with wealth and freedom like Australia so to speak. We know there is life outside Japan, so we chose to bear it but not have to accept it…all good experience for us. But with people from less fortunate countries who chose to live and work in their adopted country, because lifestyle and opportunity is greater. So no matter how uncomfortable and unaccepted they feel, they have no choice but to accept and bear with it. But there have been times while I’m overseas commissioning depending on the country where I couldn’t wait to get back and even eat Japanese food. edit: I guess also many of us come from a very multicultural countries and Japan in comparison is very much a single pure race. So you can understand why they are so shallow with multiculturalism. Here's one of many typical MNC cases working in Japan, unless you run your own company. A mate of mine came to Japan many years ago. He basically fell in love with the country, studied Japanese to perfection and even studied his degree and masters. Joined a company, worked his ass off following the Japanese way...always come in the office before the boss, and left after he left. Also came in on weekends often...for 15 years he did this. Doing this because he wanted to be accepted and be treated as one of them, a lifer...company employee. But every year he still had to renew his contract like a contractor, perks from the company. So he askes his boss I have been in the company longer then some of the staff and yet I have not been promoted or been given full time employment. The boss says to him if you want to be one of us, you need to get your PR to prove to us your in for the long haul. So out of his pocket he pays for his PR. After doing so h again askes his boss now can I be a full time employee. This boss says to him you now have to marry a Japanese woman. Fark...now his was starting to be ridiculous...thanks but no thanks he quit the company and the company didn't show any regret in his resignation. Moral of the story is you will never be treated like one of them, it is actually better to be treated different. My mate ended up returning to Morocco...which may not have many MNC but you can't beat the lifestyle at home. Obviously case by case but in most cases I've heard they never fully accept you as one of them...because your just not Japanese to start with.

Harrrrrr hahaha , I have to change over to a J-license...well suppose to, today but will do so next week. I think the rule wasn't like this until 18 months ago IIRC. From the number of us Aussie gaijins I know still on their internationals for the last 8 years, myself 4.5 years. You could ignore it if you wish, just make sure your nihongo is parapara. Still a number of gaijins I know from various countries still on their internationals, but it's not a big deal to change over. Reason for me doing so now was due to one of my colleagues refusing or rather didn't recieve his parking ticket in the mail. The police finally got their act together after a year just as he was leaving the country, couldn't find him. Called our company which is a big lost of face in Japan, to find their employees breaking the law. Company then issued a notice to all gaijins employees to change over to a J-license ASAP!!!! So yes you have to change over to a Japanese license, you can only carry an international license for 12 months starting from when you first step foot in Japan as a resident which basically means everyone who comes to work for more then 12 months.
