Of course there are cars with a correct odometer reading, owned by people like myself who only average 10,000km/year...weekend grocery shopping and a few interstate trips as well to the snowfield. No, not because I take the train often...I'm just over the whole crusing every weeknight or weekend. My E5 is now 6yo with only 62,000km on the clock, I've owned her since 2002 when she had 43,000km (Grading 4.5), but I paid a pretty penny back those days for one of these undamaged, low kilometer example . Generally you will find grading 4 or more cars have intact log books and correct odometer. It's only common sense of buyer beware, then believing car dealers...if she reads about right and runs OK then she is worth a look. Here's something scarry, I have already seen 2003 350GT Skyline Coupes with over 60,000km on the odometer already. All legit and written in the log book, 1.8Mil Yen bargain . As for winding them back, it's all done after the car is purchased by a dealer/workshop at the request of the new owner...let me know if you need help .

I've said it before...if your only paying say $20K AU for a 2000 R34 compared to a $25K or $30K one with the same K's...what you pay is what you get boys, it's your guess if the oddometer has been tampered. I have already seen V35 350GT Coupes out in 2003 with over 60K Kms...cheap 1.8Mil Yen Contary to what we think, the Japanese do drive as much as we do, and you can expect sports cars to average 150-200km/night...ever heard of the midnight circuit battles here in Kansai. Seriously it doesn't matter where the car comes from, if the car doesn't check out well then it's not worth buying.

I'll have to dig up some old photos as I'm already domesticated and don't find anything unusual these days. Oh you mean these non-tourist shot . Taken last Saturday, my mate's STi V2 he rallies course without the 18" when he is bashing through the bushes.

If it's for work, it shouldn't matter if the hotel is cheap or not I'm too lazy to check at the moment but getting around Osaka is pinch-piss compared to Tokyo, Higashi-Osaka would be easily accesible by the subway or JR Loop Line. Ray's Engineering website should have details of the closest station to get off.

Fair enough your comparing a 91 Z to a 96 Skyline where Nissan learnt their mistakes. But compare a 96 Z to a 96 Skyline, are you people going to tell me the problems are still apparent! I do agree on the higher modification cost on a Z, the Z is a sports car...like all sports car they usually cost more to fix and modify. As for everyone mentioning the cooling issue, that can be easily fixed. The Z enthusiast and following around the world is just as big as the Skyline not to mentionn it's involvement in motorsports.

There were 500 Group-A Racing Version built back in March 1990 but I believe they were released under Nismo and 5.5Mil Yen a piece.

Oh must have missed this thread while I was away in Aust. Insurance is quite expensive, reason why not too many new sports cars are modified and old sports are heavily modified. Where do you want your money to go...mods or insurance. Not to mention foriegners who come over have no insurance history so your insurance is going to be high regardless. The criteria is the same as Aust, where you live and type of car and age of the driver are all taken into account. Over here in Kansai and I'm pretty sure with Tokyo...a Civic Type R is the most expensive to insure while a Chaser V is the cheapest (not including a BNR34). Yes a Civic Type R cost more to insure then my Evo, and an Evo is certainly not cheap to insure. Everyone please ignore dave's comment he is a country bumkin :D Crime in Japan is relatively low, but increasing especially domestic violence. Just last night I was at the rail crossing and had to get around the car in front who decided to just stopped just there...the driver and passenger got and was running across to the right...I was thinking WTF. Then I looked to the right there was one guy pinning another guy down with his elbow bashing into his backbone, as the guy pinned down was wearing a helmet. His scooter was still running but on the ground and 15 metres down the road in the gutter. I don't know what the story is nor was I going to get out of my car to check or help...the passenger was telling kids who were riding pass to move along and directing me to drive around the car. This is probably the second time I have experienced such things in the 5 years I have been here. As I said violence is on the increase and the 2 incidence I encounter are within 12months. It's best to mind your own business especially if your driving a nice car...yakuzas will mind their own business as long as you do as well.

Fully Sick Sporty KIA Rio with bonnet scoop!

I remember sometime ago they did release a limited run of this blue wrx lookalike model. So I believe the way that KIA looks is how it came from the factory, correct me if I'm wrong. Unfortunate for the owner, he/she not only paid to get a lookalike WRX but also the attention of being laughed at. -
Sorry but why would you want to buy a Y31 Cedric Cima? This could be the reason no one has answered, or could be no one knows the specs. Well they came with VG30DE and DET with 200ps/26.5kgm and 255ps/35.5kgm respectively...only in 4AT and weight about 1550kgs. If you haven't noticed they are called Cedric Cima or Gloria Cima, but yours seems to look like a Cedric Cima from the chrome on the bonnet. Basically cosmetic and interior differences really, this particular model externally they are identical while internally they had different trims and steering wheel. Traditionally the Gloria is the more upmarket between the two as you can see there is a M45 Infiniti in the states which is basically a Gloria running a VK45DE. That's about all I know about them, Justin, Dave may know more.

Dave: now VIP vans is something I would consider myself...more practical, more space and looks so much more better then a sedan when dumped on 20". A van would be no heavier then a sedan, plus it has a greater sleeper effect...with a 4WD version and the fact they are now front engines tuners have been able to slap on S/C anc T/C for some mild boost. My choice a Hybrid Estima, black of course, 20" with a nice kit , the guy who installed my alarm had his new demo white Alphard at the shop...very very nice. Because it was a shop demo car it had every freaking alarm possible and security devices install on the market to demonstration to the customer. He joked if this van could be stolen via means of entry the theif is a genius.

uh no... VIP strickly speaking mostly sedans and vans which enables you to fit a bigass sound system and still have your mates in the back to cruise around with you. Not to mention it's suppose to be a slug, heavy and with very little performance thus it's a show car. Which is the reason for it's popularity with bitumen scrapping bodykits but they seem to think they can still drift the car which results in an even better bodykit, one with a damaged/torn front bar...mostly entered in SPL comps.

hehehe only when someone say that can you believe he has visited Korea. It is indeed a scarry sight. Not only that the taxi drivers think they can steer, answer the phone and comb their hair all at the same time.

Funky: I can't remember which edition but it was earlier in the year. Do scan it, was an interesting comparison. Would do it myself but I'm too lazy to search they're all stacked in the corner along with all the other editions of Options/2, RevSpeed, Skyline, LanEvo, RX-7...
-
not quite...not to be nitpicking but the G50 President ran a VH45DE and the Y32 Cima ran VH41DE, but the best thing was the Cima also came in 4WD I love to get myself into a F50 Cima...

Dam another May boy... Happy Birthday Brian.

T51R KAI SPL came out on top in the recent drag battles with the T88 as tested by Option. I would have said T88 myself but the T51R SPL version has proven to be a winner on a number of different cars and setup.
