Mountains...ohhh maybe I should ask if I can take the S14 my mate is about to put back on the auctions...I promise not to scratch it . and circuits...it's going to be fun Dave, sound great mate we're also looking forward. I don't think we really need a long road as such perhaps because I think we may end up hitting the highway. I know Justin is itching to hit the highway limiter. Oh also we need to hit the pool hall sometime during our stay
-
Yeah we already talking about different photo angles, we should also make a short Skyline CM . I've already agreed to be the pace car so I'll be whizzing in front and behind...any nice long stretch of road where there isn't much traffic?
-
Dave, yeah we're almost ready to go...the GTSt is also slightly modified with a stonger clutch , so get ready. Your going to be a popular fella in town with 3 nice cars parked in your driveway . I do hope your driveway is big enough for 3 cars. We're also expecting a few nice scenic places to take photos

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10...
Evo_Lee replied to Rezz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Edit: Rezz beat me to a few answers... God your stupid...your comparing a GTSt to a base model Lancer and not a RB20DE Skyline or a CA18DE for that matter. Pfff...try again??? you sure you want to know how good the average person can tell between any car model. As an enthusiast I seriously feel sorry that you can’t tell the difference between a real Evo and a normal Lancer, and you think the Skyline never had a ricer boy problem…go back 10-15 years ago and I will tell you how many Skylines had GT-R badges. But I'll bet if the Skylines was available outside Japan that every Tom, Dick and Harry even in IRAQ would be driving a Skyline GT-R lookalike. Do tell me which parts is similar and if you can't go beyond the visual aspects I doubt you could tell me the difference between Skylines as well. Your more stupid then I thought, do you know what competition class the Evos run in? And how do you know I don't like GT-Rs, I'll bet I've driven and tinkered with more GT-Rs then you can get your hands on. Oh but don’t say because I’m in Japan so it doesn’t count. I'm not even going to bother...do yourself a favour and study about chassis design then tell me how strong the Evo chassis is to a normal Lancer. Oh by body you mean styling, I forgot your knowledge on cars doesn't surpass visual appearances. -

Justin can I play a bit more, we still another who is not convinced. And which fact is that? Let's break it down nice and simple. Regardless of styling generations, ignore all other models in the Lancer lineup except for the base spec and the Evo and we shall do the same with the Skyline lineup with a base spec and the GT-R. Have all 4 cars parked side by side. As Justin said strip all the cars of all the parts such as bodykit, engine, brakes/wheels etc etc...tell me the difference between the same respective models?...imagine if you like... I can tell you I've seen both a GT-R and Evo completely stripped at the wreaker sitting next to their lesser sibling. For the GT-R and Evo you could said the difference is rather negligible or a lot depending on what aspect your focusing on. -
Depends how funky he is...OK funky show us some moves (requesting funky's star wars kid type short clips). I don't know I should be back Saturday afternoon, but shall we bring any chicks or they will be provided . Basically I told you I was jetting off on Thursday but I'm hoping to do it on Friday instead and get back on Saturday.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10...

Looks like everyones has jumped in and answered before I could finish my post... First you said the Lancer is mass produced and now you tell me you agree the Skyline is too...so what is your point again. You just keep counting your Lancers and I will keep counting the Skylines...again what is your point. You can even count GT-Rs and I will count how many Evos there are. I wonder who told you the Lancer was a performance car, did the little ricer lancer boy tell you that and you believed him. Why would a normal car need to cost that much if it was the 4G93 GSR then you'll find they are in a similar price markup. What's interesting is how you find every Skyline is performance bred...seriously I wonder where you get your information! Because of the GT-R or because they also come with a Turbo engine...alot of cars come with different engines doesn't make them performance bred. The GT-R and the Evo are completely different to their family model line up. Both were purposely built for competition. I'd even say the difference is greater between the Evo and Lancers today then the GT-R and Skylines. -

The STi package is great but the styling leaves alot to be desired...again Aust gets alot of WRXs and STi...you don't see many around here definitely not in my neck of the woods. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you have time search for the Super Taikyu Series and you will see alot of nice racing Evos and the most...2 STi in the whole field...then you will see which is better looking even in race trim. -

You obviously don't know how different the two cars are, apart from the visual aspect...and again Skylines aren't based on a common mass production platform. -

Yes always a 4G63 Even without any form of MIVEC she still has plenty more in her. That photos is probably just some normal 4cyc Mivec in the normal Lancer. As for the gentlemen's agreement I thought we all know that was thrown out the window ages ago...makers just state that to keep the Govt happy. -
Tips against Cars being stolen?
Evo_Lee replied to Viscount's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I thought they don't bother sneaking around these days...car-jacking seems to be easier. A tracker is the best way, furthermore your life is more important and it's only a car. There are many ways to prevent joy-riders, common sense...watch where you park, don't leave valuable items in the car. Minimum 3 point immobolizer, LEDs or some form of visual deterent, seperate alarm system from immobolizer unit, sensors all doors, boot and bonnet, removable steering wheel which is kinda weird to carry around but I know some people do it, key locks if you don't want shave handles and keyholes, dual siren (inside and out) with battery back-up but you have to make the effort to change the batteries every 3 years and a good bonnet lock. Most importantly know your installer well to not reveal your personal details and that he knows how to hide the wiring well even when the front wheel under guard covers is accessed. Also sorry guys but the early Skylines and Silvias door locks are weak...they don't bother with picking lock...they just basically smash the barrel. Cars where the lock itself located on the handle are stronger which you will find most of the newer cars have. Option published an article on which sports cars were easier to break into, which isn't good to publically say, but they also highlighted all the prevention points I have mentioned above. The funny thing over here is theives are not going after you car they just dump it after, they are only going for the engine. If they know you have a highly tuned 600ps+ engine or if there is a shortage of supply on a particular engine your car becomes a target...SR20 are indemand at the moment which they can sell off to the States for big money. Working in teams, professional will have your engine out in less then one hour. -

Mcnamg, yeah I know the RS2 versions brought in were flogged off at ridiculously high price. In fact it's about right considering the exchange rate back then was 60:1 then factor in compliance and all that jazz. When the E7 (CT) was sold new here in 2000 it was actually slightly cheaper at 3.5Mil Yen (but still $60K AU on the road if you do the 2000 exchange) then the earlier Evos. So now with the current exchange rate they should sell at a competitive price. You put it nicely by saying Skylines have a cult following, yes that is true but they are also commonly bought as family cars so there are alot of them around. But you don't see me knocking that...seriously people just have to get over it. As for whether Justin is really a ghey pool player I will leave it up to Dave to judge...we're both heading out to Yamanashi soon...and will indeed play a few rounds over there . -
Seen the face...but sorry I don't think I know much about him. Who does he drive for, if he is a D1 driver then I don't really know much about the D1 drivers or JGTC drivers for that matter. I only know tuners well, that's about all I read up on...their opinions, techniques and parts selection on tuning setups.

And the Skyline is not mass produced:rolleyes: It's funny you say that when effectively in Japan this is the case with Skylines...every man and his dog has a GT-R badge or GT-R bar or 400R bar on a standard Skyline. I don't think I have ever see a normal lancer here trying to look like an Evo. I agree the whole lookalike Evo scene in Aust is ghey. The CT Evo and the normal Lancer no longer share many common body parts without panel work...so normal Lancers can do whatever they want and they will not look like an Evo...not to mention if you are smart you can always tell Evo have aluminium panels compared to normal Lancers. As for $70K for an Evo...I never paid that much for mine -

hehehe...read the update he actually came good last weekend. But come to think of it he brought the shocker aka Nao a Japanese dude who played worst then he did which effectively made Justin look alot lot better -
Nothing is legal in Japan just the cops don't bother with it...the rule is don't cause trouble and they will not bother you. By right if the arches were not on the factory car or not engineered, which means the wheels are infact sticking 2inches out of the guard...it's defectable. As for driving around the streets...you will be surprised how well the truckies in Japan drive, I have seen a semi get through the back streets with precision, if a Aust truckie was to guage how close and tight he had to manoeuvre in Japan he will be saying "NO WAY can you get around that corner"...Japanese truckies will make him eat his words time after time.

Justin: LOL, yeah I flipped through the mag at the combini they seem to be going towards the WRC car look. The look is kind ghey but it's a concept sketch...don't think any of us think the next GT-R is going to look as futuristic as it's concept model. Without Mivec it is already the most highly powered 2L engine but I will have to see what the actual power figures of the new EJ20T on a dyno. With a mild dose of Mivec it will get 350ps from the crank easy but that means they have done nothing much to the engine , I just hope it will be as light as the MR. -
Who the hell is tsuchiya? You dam right there, hachis were primarily made famous by the show. No matter how good the hachis handle they are still not the NA class holder around Tsukuba

Go away Dave you can't be considered, your a Hill Billy OK my place ain't big 2DK but relatively new less then 10 years and 20mins train from town. Rent is less then what I use to pay for my bachelor pad in North Sydney 35,500Yen/month subsidised. In fact I was paying half that till earlier this year with my misses who has gone backed to Aust...who bloody pays $222/month on an apartment in Japan .

Results are in: Our friend Justin won a game hooray, he finally came good! ***9 Ball game*** As for the pool shark she was pretty impressive or maybe it was Justin and myself who were farking up all night. Everyone won a game except for Shocker aka Nao a Japanese dude...as the name refers he's a SHOCKER even his GF won a game. ***8 Ball game*** Justin and I kicked ass...Vs Nao and GF, 4 games to 1. That's all from me Jaggy Bastard and oh Justin is still ghey and "still just trying to get it in, Consult me!!!"

Yes, there will be another pool match up again tomorrow night between Justin and myself. Can Justin regain his pride after 2 consective loses or techically 7 games ...that is the question. Dave, sorry dude we are still keen to head over for beer, pool and just late night para-para ...just as soon as Justin get his act together on a car. So stay tune for the results after tomorrow, Justin is said to be bringing a secret weapon as Pool Shark Queen to kick my ass but I'd be keen for a bit of hers ...I await
