  1. If you have bonnet vent that is what happens, what did you expect? Price wise E7 are newer and BCNR33 are old, nothing to do with performance...that's just how the market works. E7 internally are...stronger rods, pistons etc which owners of earlier evos are sourcing to drop into their evos...saves $$$ buying JUN or HKS stuff. And don't hate the Evo because it chops GT-Rs around the circuit. That is a fact, no one doubts that. Could it be because the Evos run wider F/R track than the puny GT-Rs ...who just run wide fenders to make it look wide . Most famous time attack battle, Tsukaba...how many GT-Rs in the top 5 or 10 compared to how many Evos, not to mention the 2 GT-Rs there are Saurus BNR32 and the M Speed BNR34, the whale is an unloved child . All seriousness, no one car is better and you learn to appreciate them all. Else you learn the hard way getting severely chopped, this is what you learn over here. Ever seen the HRF Starlet chop a BNR34 VSpec with 400+ps, HRF can built you a Starlet which runs 11s, hits a top speed of 298km/h with all work, parts including the cost of the car for only 1Mil Yen.
  2. I'm aware of how we do things here in Japan . Also I'm glad your not doing this kinda shit around Osaka, For what it's worth don't get caught, the gaijin name is bad enough around Japan already. I also see your taking something out of the Signal books. Oh BTW welcome.

    March Super Turbo

Duncan...I have only seen 2-3 on the road in the whole 5years of my time here and about 1 auctioned off about 2 years back. If you can find one they are cheap as but don't expect the conditions to be any good. edit: Actually there is one at a dealer but it is an Auto.
  6. concerts are pretty expensive but they are also always sold out... Ken Hirai, M-Flo and a few others are in town this weekend...all sold out.
  7. Perhaps it's the angle of the photo. Course CF can withstand high temperatures before it fails and melts through, but with all material there is a transition state. CF bonnets doesn't flex that much under it's own weight, but sitting under the sun all day at that temperature the bonnet was definitely more then 35-37.5 degrees and she was drooping and a little flexy.
  8. Ayu and Utada are always popular... Currently I've got M-Flo who have come back very popular again...ASTROMANTIC new CD...very good. But you have to understand that kind of Japanese rap genre.
  9. Huh... Course carbon can withstand high temperatures before it fails and melts through...but with all material there is a transition state. Carbon will not flex that much under it's own weight, sitting under the sun all day at that temperature the bonnet was obviously starting to droop and flex like rubber.
  10. I'm not going to even suggest a welcome to what...it's old, it's fake...and your banned!
  11. On the topic of carbon and FRP bonnets, having one on a road car is a bit of a wank. Firstly as you all know they are illegal and 2) only if they have vents. Have you ever see the f**ker flex so much, ballooning as much as 1-1.5 inches during a high speed rally stage...without vents your likely to crack your FRP bonnet and if your lucky you'll still get heaps of scratches around the bonnet pins where they have been vibrating away. Your better off with a Aluminium bonnet on a road car.
  12. IIRC I believe that is the reason for them being illegal. Sorry to say but it is apparent that bonnet pins are illegal, so why have it on a road car.
  13. if your lucky and Justin gets his car in time...we'll go for a run on the Wangan, Route 4 and 5 from the airport all the way to Kobe...cruising speed is 210km/h
  14. Market days are usually weekends...if you go to Tempozan, it is also worth going to the Aquarium.
  15. Am I suppose to find that funny or what...oh your from SA which explains it Stupids shit like that happens everywhere...

Autobacs are everywhere, closest ones in Umeda (Osaka city) is West of JR Osaka Give us a hell when your here...and show you a few nices places. Kyoto is a tourist place so it is quite self orientated and English speaking.
  17. right, OK...so you can try and get back $1200 but it also doesn't mean the plates are worth that much. As you said all depending on names, you could try for $3K but I also doubt many would consider a $3K plate. True also, plates are plates and to me personal plates are more an attention seeker...normal plates for me.
  18. Can you sell your plate in NSW? I thought NSW is the only state where you are renting the right to use the plate for that year, it is not actually your property. Unlike others States where you do in fact buy it outright.
  19. That would be me...welcome! As you would have guessed I'm from Osaka or Itami to be precise if you know the Osaka Airport that is where I'm. Japan forum moderator Rezz is from Kobe, Ashiya and Streeter here is also from Osaka, there are also a few other Aussies around but they are not from this forum. I'm also urging DaiOni to make the move to Kansai
  20. aussie in nara, by god you have been in hibernation...15yo cars have been flooding the market for ages now. Where abouts in Nara are you? Pop over to the Japan section and introduce yourself
  21. When you see most aftermarket names releasing supercharger kits you know where the trend is heading...lower boost, less engine abuse and complies with emission. Most will all return to NA performance engines and move into fuel cells. As I said don't kid yourself, be thankful your living in this generation...enjoy it while you can. Some tuners have already bolted on S/C kits to hybrids...fuel efficent and power to boot. Oh and remember this when I say, I told you so...
  22. Funky, this is drifting... http://www.carmode.net/carmode/movi...06file/yv86.wmv Justin, reason you say/see idiots drifting poorly in Skylines is because they haven't setup the car properly and the car is too heavy to start with...plus who drifts in Skylines anyway except for Nomu! Not that it can't be done just not as elegant and sustained with a lighter car and sufficent horsepower.
  23. rs73, a VQ30DETT is easy, twin turbo a VQ30DET from a Y34 or Y33, only problem is fitting a manual box behind it as they are all AT or CVT. A few of these beast running around here...just Aust are still working through the RB stage like the Yanks are still working through SR
  24. Exactly who expected a inline 4 to ever make that much horsepower, a good example is how far F1 V10 have come...that is also another engine configuration to watch out for. Toyota so want to drop one into their next sports car.
  25. OEM parts will be hard to find but aftermarket parts will always be available for Nostalgic owners. By then you will be like the C10/110/210 guys who dropping in RB26/25, but you will be dropping in VQ into or V* into R32/33/3. Love old school with modern engines.
