  1. Plain and simple...owning the real thing! It's for prestige and the fact that anything limited release is always a big thing no matter. It's a big thing in Japan and I'm sure the same elsewhere.
  2. Engineering work is not easy to come by, but not enitirely impossible to find provided you know Japanese (preferable). Best way in is to work for a Japanese branch office in Australia and get an internal transfer to Japan. Else alot of companies offer 9-12 months internship, come over learn the language and perhaps try and get a permanent or another job after. Word of warning, working for Japanese companies in Japan is very different to working in Western companies.
  3. hehehe well you can correct what I don't know then. 4DoorGTR: There isn't much information because there isn't much to it, apart from the RB26DETT and some mechanical upgrades over the standard Stagea to cope with the power such as body stiffen, Brembo brakes, suspension etc and in/ext cosmetics to give it more an up market feel...or in other words BCNR33 goodies dropped into a Stagea body. They also don't come cheap and were built at limited numbers but there are a few floating around for sale. They will do a mid-high 13s quarter or there abouts for 1720kg car...faster then most lighter competitors. Still they are a dam heavy car to throw around if you ever tried to drift one even in the wet, but there are a few 600ps straight line demon ones down at the Port (Justin will know where I'm talking about), else one to drool over is the 900ps+ Hyper Dolphin 260RS...Yikes! I believe there is actually 2 versions or face lift versions of the 260RS, the one in your avatar and I think the other is an earlier one (or later) with the driving lights located in the grill. Which ever one it is, one doesn't have the discharge headlamps I'm sure the Autech site would have a write up on it, you could search there. edit: btw I think one or two have made the country a while back as well as a few RS Fours as well.
  4. Guys you do realise this thread will be mostly dominated by our comments, and perhaps most of it isn't amusing to us no more... None the less I thinks the amusing ones are the magazine names which escapes me at the moment. Or how they name their drinks, most talked about are Calpis or Pocari Sweat if you only ask a mate if they want one. Dave it's Naked because it is after all Naked...others are Toyota Publica (very old name for the Starlet), Nissan Cherry/Violet/Figaro/Pao, Mazda Bongo/Clef/Scrum, Honda Fit, Subaru REX (which isn't the REX we know it ), Mitsubishi Bravo (only a kei van?!?) and Isuzu Bighorn. All of which have a meaning I'm sure to why they are named this way . But speaking of weird the Will cars made by Toyota are by far the weirdiest.
  5. Indeed as Rezz and Dave have pointed out Japan is a very safe place, you can see elderly people walking their dogs around at 2-3am in the morning...or is that when they let them out . Seriously this is one thing I will miss about Japan the day I decide to move back to Australia.
  6. Dave they are call bozozoku, stupid youths with nothing better to do. I'm surprise the cops out your way don't do anything, the cops over here will book/impound but not after a 5-10min chase. Yes in numbers they are scarry, but regarless stay away from them. There have been cases where they have beaten people up for no reason and have killed homeless people for the thrills...f**king senseless. I have a few around my place and they are getting very close to me going out there and throwing their scooters into the river adjacent to my place. They have no respect that some of us/all have to work the next day. But best to call the cops and let them handle them, that way they don't know who complained. Rarely but you do encounter then on the expressway where they think they are god some have even been dumb enough to play chicken with semi-trailers. Most Japanese drivers will follow well behind...but I dial up and see them piss their pants. One time it happened they messed and paid for it, a black President rammed up the back of one scooter causing it to fall. Then a second car a white Cima cut the group in front. 4 guys got out and bitch slapped the 4 youths and baseball batted their scooters...you know who these guys these are. Yakuzas in Japan nowadays are quite clean and nearly most of them do respectable business...but seriously try their patience and they will let you know. Mind your own business and they will too. Merli: one advise, try not to take too much of this as actually Japan. There are good and bad side to every country, best to share the good things and warn about the bad things.
  7. Hehehe either when Justin's gets his V35 or your M35 right . You know you want the オーテック アクシス350S only they have the 6段マニュアルトランスミッション. Definitely want to make a trip over there, we have guys at work associated with them and say there are certain dates they will take passengers. So I'll see when they can take me for a 500kph spin , interested?
  8. Dave: no worries mates perhaps another time then, let me know if your out my way. Also I'd like to head out Yamanshi way after winter, to check out the Maglev track. Been saying it for years but never get around to doing it. T
  9. Hey May Boyz... It was great meeting up and the extended lunch break was a good thing for the ladies . Dave if you can make it over for OAM2004, then it would be great. The feature cars from the popular tuners will be the same but still plenty to see. Plus Osaka is our town (Rezz and myself) so there is plenty to do. Rezz I tried calling you yesterday to see if you wanted the photos, here's one of them. Also I'll be heading to Nanko Thursday night, if your free tonight give me a call tonight at home after 9pm I can bring the rest of the photos over. My thoughts on TAS this year was some of the cars were the same from last year but there was still plenty of new ones and the race queens were definitely better IMO.
