Yeah VQ30DETT or VQ32DETT was the early word...but still no one knows what capacity it will be. Only solid rumour over here is it will be a V6 and over 400ps...no more inline 6, they will have to mirror alot of the engineering from the JGTC car as the VQ35DE isn't strong enough for turbocharging if they wish to live up to the abuse the RB26 could.

Don't kid yourself...I think supplying cars and parts all over I would have some idea when things are drying up People if you want news...well by 2007 Nissan will release their first fuel cell model. Nissan plans to invest up to 70 billion Yen through to 2008 in development and production facility in Kanagawa Prefecture to keep up with Toyota and Honda.

RS73, I hear you just to add the 4G series dates back to god knows when 1969 IIRC and the 4G63T dates back to 1982 in the A-175A older then the RBs. Already making 280ps then no one doubts how bullet proof these old blocks are. As you said eventually all these great engines will dry up, SR20 supply is already drying up with the Yanks buying them up. Time to move on to VQ as per the JGTC car VQ30DETT

r34 widebody kits - wats avaliable? pics?
Evo_Lee replied to bryanlee38's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Not that I have looked but the only wide body R34 kits I know are the JGTC ones Plus I reckon it's a bit of a wank to fit a wide body kit, like when I see guys with LM kits on R33...wtf! -

which part of that cross factory kit is wide? Not that I have looked but the only wide body R34 I know are the JGTC ones Plus I reckon it's a bit of a wank to fit a wide body kit, like when I see guys with LM kits on R33...wtf! Also are you going to run like 100mm spacers on all fours??? -
Ant, it is all elementary... A MAP (Manifold Air Pressure, also known some times as speed/density) system measures the pressure inside the intake, after the throttle body, and then adds fuel based on this amount of air. The air is not measured until it actually makes it into the throttle body. A MAF (Mass Air Flow aka hot wire) systems measures the air coming into the engine at the near the beginning of the intake tract. A turbo system has several feet worth of intake plumbing. These cubic feet of air have been measured, and fuel has been added to match that amount of air. A blow-off valve that vents to atmosphere on a system that uses a MAF causes problems with the Air/Fuel mixture, every time it is venting. Causing the cars to stumble/stutter/stall during gear changes. Following the explanation above, the blow off valve just vented all that pressure outside the intake tract. Your A/F ratio is now something like 7:1 or worse. So the car bogs from the way over-rich A/F ratio. If you want a vent to atmosphere BOV on a MAF system, you will have to relocated the BOV further away from the throttle body or install a idling stabiliser which clamps the signal to prevent the engine stalling. You can buy recirculating clips for them from HKS USA, just not Japan.

2350 Kansai...never heard of it...nor does it say anything in the article about it. I was thinking it maybe a inhouse developed turbo variant by HKS Kansai but they are just down the road from me and I haven't heard them say anything. Kai is also not Kansai so don't confuse the words...

Your welcome Lezzbian...I mean Rezzbian LOL...only the delicate goods and packages went in the Evo, but the Lancer does have a big trunk so it was all good, only needed to make 2 trips. The rest of Justin's funiture went in the removal truck, have to also give a big thanks to removal guys for working 5hours in the atrocious heat and moving all this stuff up 5 flights of stairs to Justin's new place. If you want to know how hot it was, well we manage to sneak away to the local Super AB mini car show for an hour and this is what 35+ degree heat does to a carbon bonnet...STILLWAY Evo7.

Who is gavin woods...sorry dunno Couldn't you have explained all that with just 2 words...compressor surge!

Bob next time you come to Osaka...I will show you a wrecking yard with dead 2002 RBs not to mention near new damaged Skylines. You guys only hear what is in Aust with mass delievered cars such as the WRXs...etc and never hear about the scene over here. You would if the Skylines were also delivered to overseas markets.
-
Indeed a can of worms...but where did you get the idea it was making the flutter noise from the wastegate...especially if one had an internal gate? I'll let you figure this one out yourself folks, nothing to do with the wastegate given you know what a wastegate does.

pick up a navigator as well and you can tune it yourself or with advise from a tuner.
-
You hear that everywhere...abuse it and you kill it. No news flash dude, heaps of dead RB20/25/26/SR, 1J/2J, 13B, etc down at the industrial docks. R32/33, JZA80, FC etc are like our VL, EA falcodores...J-kids buy them cheap A$2-3K, flog them and dump the shell and dead engine complete.

I think you guys should give this guy a break, the WRX aren't bad and given they are locally delivered the insurance given he is older shouldn't be too expensive. Sure enough he probably chose the wrong forum for opinions. Everyone knows money talks and if you throw enough money on a street car they will go just as good as any other car. But true to the fact Nolimit seem to have hurt your feelings/ego when he said he's cousin beat a GTS4. ---- Now I'm not here to argue anything but to clarify a few things, if your going to be throwing facts and figures try and compare the cars of the same market. The Aust WRX are detuned as you all know, where as the JDM WRX as early as 92 (240ps, 1200kg) would be just as fast as the equivalent year JDM Skylines people have been importing. When the 96 JDM WRX were released they were now making 280ps powering a 1250kg car (RA were even lighter, yet not as expensive as the STi) which if anyone has truely followed the JDM market will know and read the WRX was much much quicker then any showroom GTSt of the equivalent year. Interesting at the time people were wondering what Subaru was doing making the JDM WRX as powerful as the STi. Any which way it's all good, especially for those looking for a cheap track car, 96 RA 280ps and 1190kg. As for the 2.5L WRX, I also doubt it would come to Australia and yes they don't make 300kw...if that was the case it would be making more than an STi.

Brian, yeah the weather is crazy here in Kansai, we been missing all the rain dunno if it is a good or bad thing...typhoons seem to die off before it hits Osaka bay. Really in need of some rain to cool the days down a bit.

We recorded 37.5 degrees on Sunday...dam the oil temp was sitting at 108 degrees all day.

does it have to mean anything...it is just an engine block designation. All you have to know is the B in BNR32 is 2600, N is 4WD+HICAS (HNR32 has HICAS) and R32 is just that Skyline model/shape, similarly BCNR33 but C is now used for HICAS as this model ENR33 didn't have HICAS. In the R34 models the HICAS label was completely abolished for all. B:RB26, E:RB25, H:RB20DE, F: CA, YH:RB20E

How nice of you...if the keys were in the car I would have hope you could kindly closed the window for me too before returning it to me
-
4150, if they don't check for records does that mean you start again with a zero driving history with the next insurance company? I'm already very tolerant with how people drive, you don't want to see me when I'm pissed off

Who owns parts left over after compliance?
Evo_Lee replied to flight's topic in General Automotive Discussion
No...they are not yanking your chain, and Yes...they will destroy it. -
I'm assuming your car ain't stock because I know a stock BCNR33 only reaches 262km/h with the limiter removed. Only 2 other cars beat the BCNR33 in this magazine test, an NSX reached 266km/h and a Supra RZ 279km/h. Other cars, the GT-R just pipped the Evo 6 which clocked 260km/h; - RX-7 & Z32 256km/h - 3000GTO & Aristo 255km/h - Skyline 25GTt & Legacy B4 250km/h - BNR32 248km/h - STi V6 240km/h I agree with Duncan 300km/h is very very fast already...is there any high speed ring circuit in Aust? (High speed test above was performed in a high speed ring)
-
I agree it all depends on the person, if it does the job leave it. Personally after changing from PIAA Xtreme White (4150K) to PIAA Super Plasma blubs 5000K Low Beam, 3800K High Beam. I probably go back to the Xtreme white, I find the blue strains my eyes and if you have tinted windows you may find it more difficult depending...thus why we have HID kit.
-
Just having a dig at you mate No you can't change the frequency via any means such as voltage. It's the bulb itself, buy ones with 5000K or higher, going into the blue temperature range. edit: here is Kelvin colour temperature scale for your reference as you can see where blue light starts.
-
Don't tell me you wanted the car because of the blue lights, it's just the frequency or temperature of light....4500-5000K will get you the blue tint from HID. Also...is Xenon is a brand name??? Xenon is the gas they use to get the blue light which also gives them that directive narrow band of light...

Dude sorry to hear...it's always a pain in the ass. Rev: Repairs shouldn't be too expensive considering the amount of spare parts around. As for resprays, cost I've found to be OK considering Japan. I've had almost all the panels on my car resprayed except the doors for a fresh new look removing some minor car park scratches when I bought the car. --- Since we are ranting here...I will share one over the weekend. Driving along minding my own business in the left lane (there is a merging lane up ahead to a set of lights where the right lane becomes a turning lane for right turns)...next thing I notice a bloody Ipsum comes screaming pass and cuts into my lane as there is a truck in the right lane. Followed right behind was a AE101 Sprinter sedan who does the same and cuts in front of me...fark me dead!!! They were both going at least 90kph on a 50kph road and the gap between me and the truck wasn't exactly big for them to pull such a dangerous manoeuvre. The Sprinter just makes it in front of me before the gap closes, an Altezza tries to follow but slams the brakes and backs off though still trying to get in. At this point I am very pissed off at how wreckless they were driving. I noticed them all especially the Altezza at the last traffic lights where I moved off and had a good 50m ahead of them. Surely they could have gone behind me instead of cutting in front of me creating a dangerous situation. I sped up abit to keep the Altezza from cutting in before I reached both the Ipsum and Sprinter who were caught behind a slow car at the lights. I immediately pulled right out from behind the Sprinter after the lights as it goes back to 2 lanes. I boxed the Ipsum with the slow car in front of him to see who the driver was and to exchange some friendly hand signals...farking tool! After which the Sprinter and Altezza seem to have backed off I guess they understood the international sign for fark off!!! However the Ipsum decided it was a good idea to tailgate me, I pointed to him to pull over several times but he refused to. So at the next set of stop lights I looked out my window behind and told him to get out. The Ipsum then went around me and ran the red light. I took down his plates and reported to the local Koban, they called his house straight away and told his wife to tell him to come down to the station straight away. I also exaggerated the story a bit more before I left the station that he almost hit a few pedestrains . Though he may just get a slap across the wrist it will still be in the records, a few more complaints by others or in an event of an accident he may find it hard to fight an insurance claim with a reported record like that. I also suspected the Ipsum must have pissed off the Sprinter and Altezza earlier prompting them to chase him.
