  9. i finally spoke to crd and the reason why they want me to run-in soft is because they didnt build the bottom end hence being very precautious. at the very least the engine is being well respected and just about impossible to fail in its early stages which is a good thing everyone has their own method to their madness
  10. just think about the added torque u will have to lift that pallet bigger is better haaa! i know from personal experience
  11. i have been questioned on the way im running in the new engine and that its a bit soft with 10psi and 5krpm rev limit. would anyone recommend against raising the limiter to 8krpm for its last 300km before final tune? or best leave it as is trying to get jims time is impossible

  13. i would have thought so myself (paul recommended this as well being a street car) BUT what jim says goes in my books
  14. the chrono, competition and lemans are the same price, the viscosity is the only difference. besides that, i wanted to go with what others recommend. yeah its rb30, engine is built to rev to 8500 although may not be required to make the power level i want
  15. i went to crd as u suggested paul, jim strongly recommended lemans and nothing else. justjap dont stock lemans anymore. haha i have the garden variety ecu with afms, i want to raise that rev limit to 8500 and bounce it!!! is my idle going to get lumpier when jim dials the cams in
  16. solid centre is more suited for higher hp applications, as per jb. almost there, did the old road run from syd to gosford again in the wet (as the ring meister on the nurinburgring says "this is when the gtr comes to life" and now at 1200km, also running motul 300v lemans 20/60 full synthetic which was $230 later for 8ltrs. i temporarily raised the rev limit from 5k to 6.5k to avoid touching the rev limiter...is the rev limit ignition cut and can that harm the engine?

  18. 1000km - im getting final tune late next week (will have 1500km by then)
  19. my JB clutch is a solid centre which is supposed to be stronger - if i do drive below 2000rpm in gear i get an unusual vibration thru the car (thats only happened to me once, drive under 2000rpm pfff)
  20. thanks ariel - engine builder was happy with the supplied block! is the vh45dett a toyota v8 4.5ltr (twin turbo) if my memory serves me right?

  22. wow i wish i had that luxury i just finished my new build in my r32gtr, 3ltr with a goal of over 400awkw 35 is on the 'to do list', you'll get there b4 me
