  13. thanks all for the feedback - its still a great forum at most times
  14. i had the same experience 5yrs ago with my 1st gtr... after 2 other tuners played around with my car i took it to jim as well, he laughed at the mapping then started tuning it. he gave me the keys & said: "take it for a drive, if u dont like it dont pay" so i took it for a drive & when i returned i couldnt wipe the smile off my face, he only picked 35awkw on the tune & SAME BOOST LEVEL u pay for what u get, he isnt cheap but well worth every cent - good luck with your car.
  15. as i was reading thru this thread its another car that came to mind which set a record a few yrs back (the gold beast) & he misses 3rd gear if u have seen the clip!
  16. "shake violently" haha sounds like a good idea, that carby cleaner is incredibly strong as i found out last week when cleaning out my throttle bodies (i always thought kerosene was the ants pants)
  17. u live in sydney so i think u should drive past CRD & you will see a stack of street, circuit & drag cars...they often have a waiting list of 1-2weeks for a dyno tune! this to me is a very good sign
  18. i miss my race bikes days regarding bike tuning depends on what ecu it is running as most use a 'power commander' which has the same respect & marketshare as the ever famous 'powerfc' bikes rock (so do GTR's)
  19. thanks for the info. i want to clean out my lines & cooler, what is the best way to do this as i want to make sure there are no fragments in the kit from the last engine damage? highly unlikely but want to be sure. i would have thought kerosene & water?
  20. from personal experience & after back to back tuning from 3 other tuners (names disclosed) i vouch for CRD, im in the same position as you - engine rebuilt $$$ & ready for dyno tune over the next week or so. unigroup is also great but only from what iver heard
  21. thats proof i dont home & away haha - i thought maybe "good quality stuff" was his 1 liner
  22. nah mate - i cant watch that soapie crap
