  1. im pissing myself here guys good quality stuff
  2. street car with the occasional drag & circuit. i'll keep the oil cooler on the car
  3. i might have thermostat in my kit - where would it be placed so that i can have a look?
  4. hi guys, i have been advised to run my rips sump on its own & not worry about fitting my oil cooler kit for the reason that my engine will hold close to 8ltr of oil on its own...increasing my oil capacity with the oil cooler may give me issues with achieving the right oil temp @ 75-80degrees. does anyone here have 'low oil temp issues' running a large sump inline with an oil cooler? thanks
  5. fact is that a lot of things today are made in china & there is absolutely nothing with that - albeit some of their intercooler hose kits my uncle was employed with sony as a technician for 13 years back in the 80's & then everything was made in japanese...then manufacturing moved to malaysia & china for the above reasons & initally he couldnt come to terms with it. today, sony still build the best monitors
  6. i can understand that you pay for what u get & u might expect the chinese kit to be 'a bit rough around the edges' BUT that the above is just...im speechless
  7. totally agree with dazmo & beer baron, reminds me of when i used to race bikes...1 of my mates on his out dated 600 would obliterate others on their 1000's, same analogy
  8. vipec seems to be an aust. product & it sounds like a great ecu. like most things these days that come out of aust: i.e. pfitzner, ppg, motec etc...better keeping the money here than o'seas IMO it actually surprises me when i see the japanese population run aussie equipment in their own cars
  9. i tend to agree with SirRace, GT-RZ & GTRNUR...u wont get your answer on this thread - sometimes these things get outa control! the joy of forums the reason u wont get your answer i think is because nobody has 'hands on' experience with running 2 044's on 1 line hence diagnosing your problem is anyones guess
  10. good point beer baron - my brother & i had this conversation where he is of the opinion that trust build great bush turbo's which almost sounds like old technology doesn't it...at the time i thought this is ridiculous BUT the above info makes sense when i used to race r.c. cars bush electric motors & wheels were cheap & nasty - then u had the all mighty full race bearing version the myth has been drummed in my head ever since
  11. interesting that the comp specs of the GTRS is larger yet the exh specs of the T618Z is larger. which of the 2 determines more power even though they are equal in ps? are the trust turbines bush & not bearing?
  12. these were my thoughts as i wanted to run the factory pump as a lift (seems over engineered this way TBO) BUT when i spoke to jim @ crd he said "stick with the 044, much more reliable"...i think he knows his stuff
  13. how do the T618Z's compare to the GTRS's in terms of dimensions (housing etc) & what are they rated at each?
  14. im running the same setup with an 044 lift pump & 2 044's to my dual entry fuel rail. what ive done is use the existing 'in' & 'return' lines as my 2 'in' lines & ive ran a new return line (as recommended by rips nz) this should alleviate your problem & its an easy fix
  15. u have sold me beer baron!
  16. well it seems that beer baron has pointed me in the right direction to steer away from t-clamps (although i still think they look cool). i'll contact norma as i recently bought fuel hose clamps from norma as well. those constant tension items look good! can anyone tell me what size is required for the gtr i/c hoses?
  17. i see u have a gtr - what size t clamps are u using for your I/C hoses? i have 3 choices: a. 74-79mm b. 80-85mm c. 86-91mm ...now u may understand why i am confusED
  18. you just cracked me up LOL, not good enough to hold a bog ive always thought these are the best available?
  19. can anyone tell me what the outside diameter of the intercooler hoses are?
  20. hi guys, im about to order t-clamps for my intercooler hosing on my gtr...can anyone tell me what the outside diameter is? for some reason i think its 80mm but i need to confirm (i cant measure this as my hoses are with my builder who is currently away) thanks
  21. wow - i had no idea...i have a standard set on my gtr & another standard set from my previous aust delivered gtr i guess i wont be upgrading for now if there is no real benefit other than age/wear & tear
  22. i bought a set of camtech cams for my setup not long ago - to my surprise they are stamped 'kelford' very good cams - go hard!
  23. i have a set of standard coil packs u can borrow - if its not too late that is (im in sydney)
  24. shims, buckets, retainers & valves were kept stock - no need to upgrade these bits on my head as recommended by pro engines there will be no regular maintenance on my engine, remembering its an rb26/30 i wont need to rev it as hard as my rb26 BUT if i want to - it will be on tap
