  1. ^ i thought u were refering to head bolts until i noticed the word 'tensioner'. its been a long day for me
  2. ^ i agree, a bit above my head but it makes sense if the tolerance is out hence the damage as per above pic
  3. i can attest to the above comment, ive also witnessed this metal eating pump.
  4. i LOL'd at your comment mark! i think i need to work on my context skills when typing
  5. i could gain a bit more but as per dirtgarage and mark berry they do crack
  6. fark me! that is the best angle to take footage from - except that twoogle disappears in the distance what a launch, cannot beat the sound of a gtr IMO
  7. ur right - he posted a pic a few mths ago when i was considering this mod. 6boost have discontinued making them though, as i was informed when i emailed them direct in qld does etm have a website?
  8. does etm make them for the rb26 low mount twin turbo kit? is there a link to their website? i asked 6boost a while ago and they said they dont make them for my application
  9. thanks for the clarification
  10. paul - i think i remember my brother telling me yrs ago (going back more than 5 yrs) that you had your bottom end bits done in cryogenics? is that the same process as nitriting metal?
  11. i almost forgot about this entertaining thread, great resurrection the above quote is awesome, my mates gokart racing up at picton does exactly this
  12. my 1st rb26 bottom end let go after a few mths on 362awkw, aust delivered gtr with only 90000km my recent rb26 also let go after a few mths on 320awkw both engines were stock so be prepared for the day when it happens, it is inevitable
  13. interesting question - anyone have the answer? i question the reliability of an external oil pump although i might be on the wrong page ...what are the points of failure other than the 1st & obvious being the belt drive? i'd guess this belt could randomly snap just like any other belt - my thoughts is that its great for circuit where the car is highly maintained but for the street...would it be a feasible option? paul, you have a nitto pump right & its fine for your monstrous setup? the likes of crd dont recommend external pump (unless it is an extreme application)
  14. it even squats as it gets off the line - haha luv it
  15. its worth every cent - ive built 2 gtr's to a similar spec & i know what goes into it & how much it costs regardless of todays market & what people are prepared to pay - i think its worth its weight in gold
  16. just add some smoke as it launches - hilarous but accurate to the real deal
  17. thanks mate, -10s were made for the 26/30
  18. thanks mate, -10s were made for the 26/30
  19. i had rs's on my 26, full boost was 5500-6000rpm. had the characteristics of a large single like my mates t88 on his 26. rs's on my 30 is awesome, boost comes in 3500rpm like when i had ss's on my other 26
  20. tuning my pfc alone, i spent $1400
  21. not as old as a push rod v8 hehe
  22. which jap turbo is most favoured i.e. hks, trust or blitz? what advantages do u get with the conventional bush driven trust? it seems old technology to me
  23. nitto would be my choice, crd has been exposed to all oil pumps available and i trust the opinion of a man who started modifying gtr's when we were all still playing with matchbox cars and smashing them with hammers to simulate an accident dry sump for me is overkill for a weekend warrior
  24. problem with a dry sump setup is cost - for something decent you are looking at up to 7k
