  1. that is a flash setup, very nice with the gold fittings, gives it that japanese feel about it - nice gtr btw
  2. what a coincidence - my setup is the same as n1gtr & dirtgarage
  3. stevo, you should be a sales consultant for the rb26/30 hybrid - if it wasn't for that lunch @ blakehurst rsl amongst those 80+ yr old retiree's, i probably would have stuck with the rb26
  4. its not the 1st time ive heard this and now im quite chauffed paul, so who do u know that i know HA!
  5. rips racing are the rb30 kings! re. the dip stick though, i dont think this is true for the reason that i run a rips sump extension kit with diff adapter plate (rb26/30 in gtr hence retaining the front diff) & when i bought the kit from rob, he told me not to run above the full line, in fact somewhere around 1/2 way is good & any higher than that i'd need to keep an eye out on how heavy the engine is breathing. i'd say this is because im running 8ltrs with larger sump & with the stock rb26 sump which is 4.5ltr it could do with more oil for safety sake?
  6. nitto pump without a doubt! dont touch an n1 pump oil drain rear head - aka "rear head thing" as quoted by dirtgarage, great bling factor & thats about it! spool kit ive heard is good from my engine builder - i was in the same boat but ended up going with argo rods, mahle pistons & acl race bearings (good package deal)
  7. i had the trust sump in my previous gtr...i always paranoid when there were undulations/pot holes in the road, i used to hold my breath if i couldnt dodge it in time - it hangs way too low for my liking for the street the rips sump (which i have now) on the other hand is much better in that it does not sit any lower than stock, in fact when i look under the car the cross member is about 10mm lower than the sump
  8. a score of 1 out of 5 for advice aint that bad nick haha
  9. the rear head thing, haha dont hold back paul!
  10. u gotta admit though paul - having the rear drain in place looks really tough (bling factor) & its another thing to add to your mod list LOL
  11. u suffer from 'addiction of the gtr' haha...i know as i have the same symptoms
  12. this time around i went with an OEM belt...now it makes sense why my previous engine made that whining sound on idle, it was my blue gates belt & yes my pulleys also picked up chunks of blue rubber from the belt as covered off in the above thread
  13. im actually shopping for a friend of mine, looks like he has already tracked down a set...if anything changes johno i'll let you know
  14. hi guys, im after a set of stock afm's for a gtr, preferably sydney based for pick up although interstate is ok as well. thanks, marko
  15. you are entitled to your opinion - go with your heart & buy suits your project end of the day does it really matter what pump you use, no. if your pump breaks though, you wont be happy & nitto have a clean record...the thing has chewed up bits of a cast block - case closed IMO
  16. 2 q's mate: - do you know the approx weight of each rim (i know there was a spreadsheet floating around somewhere which includes this info across every rim on the market) - are they forged or cast?
  17. that is awesome watching how they sculpture an item from a block of metal - billet process is very impressive & reminds me of OCC (oraneg county choppers) when they make their billet wheels
  18. no worries daz hey iplen, after 2nd thoughts maybe ur gtr was an ex japanese taxi hehe, now that would be the ultimate in public transport! not a bad business venture that idea albiet exorbitant upkeep
  19. im not sure about the light bar myself, if u did a search on google for pace car gtrs it may help. if u had an ex pace car i reckon thats awesome
  20. i'd like 1 of these stickers for my big toolbox, maybe even the back window of my gtr...where is it best to get 1, ebay?
  21. is there much demand for the 84 rover as per pic as shown in post no.86? my uncle passed in jan this year & handed this car to me just before, biege with only 75000km, 3.5ltr v8 with 5speed, forged bottom end, touring car style wheels as per pic - it was his pride joy
  22. speak to paul 'dirtgarage' he might have a block for you you can also ask greg 'proengines' as im sure he'll have a few lying around
