  1. the b4 would be nice but out of my budget. stagea range from 8k-15k & sounds like a more attractive option does anyone know the major differences with the stagea year models? for example, gtr raneg u have 32, 33 & 34 & have the same powerplant - pretty simple (i wish i understood the stagea in the same way)
  2. u raise 2 valid points i see it as buying an gtr v's a commodore - you get sooo much more with a jap car i feel the same about these wagons, creature comfort/finish/performance is like chalk & cheese (& the depreciation is not as aggressive)
  3. power attracts me to the stagea & they seem to be very well priced. what are the differences with the stagea's from 1996 - 2003? i am not familiar with the mitsubishi legnum, toyota caldina gtt or jzx1000 toyota chaser so i'll check these out on google
  4. hi guys, what do u think is a good family for a family of 4? room for the pram & baby seats something with balls would be great as my wife enjoys driving my 700hp gtr is the nissan stagea a good car (being a wagon has plenty of room 1 would think), anything to watch out for with these? what else is recommended? thanks
  5. how does the engine bay look with that big snail? pics tell 1000 words also, what does it make awkw & boost level?
  6. i dont know much about the nismo pump, if its not based on the n1 it cant be that bad hehe
  7. my standard exhaust manifolds had the same treatment & it worked a treat!
  8. lukas 33, nice avatar, are u acquinted with them
  9. speak to jim @ crd, he is very fair if u live in vic though u have a decent drive ahead of u
  10. dead right! i had my car tuned by 3 other workshops which i will not disclose on the forum THEN had it tuned @ crd
  11. Maranello Red? ferrari inspirated straight from the factory i had a vl turbo & ran a bmw m3 (2004 model) from stand still up to 200km & it was dead equal, mine was stock apart from an intercooler & 15psi. god it was funny though with his paddle shift changing gears frantically whilst im in my auto looking at him in amazement. vl's are very light & quick, just tell stace to watch those brakes (especially after boost as the booster is grossly undersized) & the handling is very scary at high speeds (i almost lost it doing over 100km in a sweeper)
  12. what a nice package. what awkw are u aiming for out of interest? that carbon cam cover looks stunning btw
  13. "now lets watch the glass jar suck in that boiled egg" (only jokes)
  14. 3 pumps is better than 1 heheheeee same applies with fuel pumps
  15. this thread is bringing back memories of that 80's tv series 'the curiousity show' good read
  16. bingo! i also have a similar setup but with an 044 intank & 2 044's running off my surge tank destrukshn, are u running a dual entry fuel rail? if so, it is a nice setup to have an 044 feeding each end
  17. there is a misconception with running the larger rb30 that it will give you more kw, BUT it will give u more nm...thats for sure another comparo for you: my rb26 made 700nm torque whereas my rb30 made 930nm of torque, overall power is much harder hitting & tractable, very hard to explain until u actually jump in an rb30 (chalk & cheese in terms of driveability). the new vg38dett in the r35gtr also supported my decision making to increase capacity. i could have taken the path of running a t51r snail but i wanted a strong street setup with aggressive midrange as well as wanting that standard look to keep the law happy paul is running a t51r with the larger t62 housing - its a farken donkey of all donkeys turbo! i'd keep your coilpacks unless there is a benefit of running splitfires which im unaware of.
  18. i think ive heard the same as well, not that much in it between the 2530 v's gtrs apparently the coilpacks in the r32 are the better factory coilpacks - my rb30 is running factory coilpacks without a problem but i always think that these things are pushing 20yrs!
  19. i have 2 similar oil return lines in my rips sump kit which runs off my catch can - rob @ rips said that these lines are very important, when i asked him why, he laughed
  20. rb26, hks gtrs with tomei cams 9.15mm lift, splitfire coilpacks pauls number plates also add more power haha
  21. paul likes talking specs, i reckon he pitches a tent half the time head porting and high lift cams (which u have) made a big difference to my setup, i gained 43awkw on the same dyno although 1 was an rb26 @ 362awkw and now an rb30 @ 405awkw, same turbo setup
  22. If paul can, why not! keep in mind that his setup would have had the best supporting mods though
  23. have u got a pic of your previous setup with surge tank? i ran 320awkw with an intake 044, took it to the drag strip a no. of times & it seemed ok (ran pb 11.1) but then the piston ring land collapsed on no.2 (usually its 5 or 6 like my other engine lol) anyway, was fuel surge the cause or age/wear & tear of factory piston...this remains a mystery to me
  24. i thought u would respond with "i'll keep the tank full" as i has similaar thoughts but then bit the bullet & ran a proper system more than likely engine will just turn off but if you're pushing that much power you dont want to run lean at all - pop as in engine failure i know what u mean about petrol smell in the car - ive had that before & apparently it boils down to the type of fuel hose as some are porous? correct me if im wrong but this is what i was told
  25. a single 044 can handle the above quoted power BUT you need to take into consideration the integrity of that setup i.e. what if u get fuel surge which u are gauranteed with that sort of power & assoc. g-force? what if that pumps fails for any unknown reason, the only warning you might get is 'pop' also, running 400awkw the engine becomes much more reliant on fuel delivery in other words, i think u would be mad to run a single fuel pump as many others would agree - walking on egg shells
