  1. yes - what size rear housing on the t04z are u comparing it to as there are a few combinations? my mate used to run a single hks gtrs on his r33 gtst & that had amazing bottom end power
  2. i remember doing this exercise with my 3ltr with -10's & i was getting 1 bar @ 3000rpm in 3rd gear on the street, i posted it somewhere on gtr.uk website although, comparing a 3ltr with -10s to a 2.8ltr with -5s isn't really fair due to increased capacity
  3. what is your rev limit set to? if i look at my current power band, it is 3000rpm (i.e. 5500 - 8500) when i think back to my rb26/30 i'd always shift at about 6500rpm which would still give me a 3000rpm powerband...although the rev limit was set to 9krpm, i always felt like i was killing it going past 7krpm as the engine was nowhere near as 'rev happy' as the 2.6ltr (i guess its changing mindset as well)
  4. john - i only just realised you are also in NSW... bob - maybe its time we organise that ADM cruise, thoughts? i think we would get a lot of nice pics from the day
  5. curiosity got the better of me so i looked under the car with my vernier set...from the dump pipes it runs 2 x 2.5" front pipes (60mm) then the front pipes run into a 3.5" (90mm) collector which is about 400mm in length, the exhaust then runs straight thru @ 3.5" (90mm) via 2 middle mufflers which retain the same internal diameter. the rear muffler i looked thru with a torch & also measures 3.5" internal diameter. this engine is running tomei poncams 260degrees @ 9.15mm. this morning i took the car out & wanted to see exactly when i have full boost - are u guys ready for this??? 0.8bar @ 5,500rpm with gtrs's. its only on 0.8 bar until i get it retuned. huuuge difference from my rb26/30 which made full boost in half the revs. i modified this gtr almost 10 yrs age hence i couldnt remember the exact spec of the exhaust, tell you what though, i am very happy to have it back home.
  6. its the veilside evolution system - its 95mm i think (i.e. either 3.75" or 4" from the dump pipes to the rear) the dump pipes are large as well. my brother has the apexi n1 systm on his trophy (last registered in 04) which runs 2 x 3" pipes, sounds very g-rough
  7. Marginal loss in top end would not phase me at all, this is what I was looking for.
  8. -5s it is...now to switch mine over will be a lot of fun. Aggroman take it easy, just a bit of fun here
  9. I don't sorry, sold that complete with the dash
  10. Haha show me your results when its done and let's compare the 2 on 98. There is no denying in bottom end from -5s...I'd like to see if there is a difference up top. I'm certain I will switch mine to -5s on my ADM gtr quite soon, home Reno's are taking up all of my bandwidth + a second child on the way. How priorities change with age.
  11. I do agree with u paul It also comes down to personal taste when we talk about 2.6 as I've had gtss's which I found boring...the -5s however were nice. As u say its about having the right combo. I could pick up my turbo setup with larger cams but I think u can't go wrong with -5s, regardless of capacity.
  12. Paul, what do you think you would have made peak power with e85 and gtrs's? -5s on my rb26 came on nice with mid range, on a 3ltr it would have been like a big block!
  13. I can't comment on the -5s with 3ltr...I keep thinking they're a bit small as I've yet to see results of this combo. Hurry up stevo and prove me wrong. I wonder what my combo would have made on higher boost with e85!?
  14. All T-clamps sold. All 3 sets of RCA's sold. FM converter sold. passenger window switch sold.
  15. -10s are cheap and for the 3ltr the ultimate low combination for the street. Ppl that have built rb26/30s know this Although, even better than this would be a t51r if u want to lift the bar.
  16. well i can tell you that rob @ rips racing supports -10s OR the t04z on any street 3ltr
  17. Ash, I take it you prefer a single rather than twin setup? I guess there are pro's and cons in both
  18. Oops, lol of course the relevance of those revs is boost...thanks simonr32
  19. Of course haha, I can't see your sig on my phone but I do remember seeing jem there on my laptop. With over 500kw, at what revs do u expect to see full boost? I've always admired the t51r, it is king IMO! The kai would be much better for the street though.
  20. 412kw at only 4100rpm is awesome! Paul, at what revs are u making your peak power?
  21. The a9x and winfield gtr are my dream cars, above and beyond anything
  22. Fark the v8 supercars! Most of my mates agree as well and they drive v8s as well...bring back the group A's!!! Truth is I refuse to watch today's race and haven't watched it since they abolished group A's. Anyway, I had to vent so there u go.
  23. That is what I thought How about dyno tuning, who are u using for that?
  24. The actual engine build itself, not head porting etc
  25. Who is doing your engine mods?
