  1. "Saw a sweet lookin R32 Silver Sedan near coopers plains/sunnybank border (forgot road name) and a black R33 Sedan that's always parked cross from McDonalds Sunnybank. Nice body kit too. Go the sedans " oooo that could of been me!! i was driving to willobank for that 7/11 thingo. Did it have a cooler on the front?
  2. lol my mate bought one of those servo ones, it worked ok, then it shit itself.
  3. I guess a little trial and error..... just undo the fan and try and get it out, whatever is in your way remove it....
  4. No idae about the K and N filters, i just use a genuine nissan one. AT work we have oil filter tools, so instead of using my massive guns of steel i just get a oil filter tool on a 3/8 rathcet and off she comes in a few seconds....alot less f**king around Yeah im not really a fan of the screwdriver thingo, leads to cuts if you arent careful lol And the deal with mechanics making them tight.... if a car goes out with an undertightened oil filter, comes back with oil leaks, then we get in the shit for it.... Its safer to NOT lose your job over something so trivial, when most people dont know where their oil filter is let alone how to change it. but yeah oh dont forget to make sure the seal from the old oil filter is not still on. otherwise oil goes everywhere and it gets messy.
  5. Yeah id try topping it up first, thats what i plan to do with my aircon. And the filter, i know in quite a few airbox's they put an airfilter inside to trap dust and leaves and all that crap, could be something like that. Or it could be a filter somewhere in the lines or condenser or evaporator.... not sure where though, and what it would do since the ac is really a sealed system.
  6. Have you checked your coils.... is it like starting up a carby car at cold start?
  7. Would the spline even mesh?? mounts? tailshaft length ?
  8. No offence but you wouldnt go out and flog the hell out of your car if you have just been fiddling with brakes!!! you can EASILY check to see if the master cyl or brake booster is stuffed. Its all in the feel of the pedal. The cups will only push past the lips if there is a serious lack of fluid (LEAKS) in the primary cylinder. I've bled the brakes on my 32 heaps of times and nothing is rooted on them. You'll be fine. And if something does break than better it breaks while its on stands and you arent driving then one day you're doing a mountain run and then oh sugar where are my brakes....
  9. You really should warm your car up for atleast a few minutes, i usually start her up 5 or so mins before i leave anywhere so its running op temp so i dont need to worry about not floggin her. And that 650rpm thing... Is that when you are driving say in first then change to second and you arent giving it any acceleration but the revs crop up a bit? Im just trying to understand what you are talking about....
  10. ^^ LOL classic Reading that Julian Edgar's review just fustrated me... bah. Gtrs are just sex on wheels...... but thats my 2 cents
  11. Peh to gravity bleeding... Bleed from the wheel furthest away from the master cylinder ie. Left rear, right rear, left front, right front. You can press the pedal all the way to the floor, but do it slowly as if you bleed them to fast it can cause your cups in the master to have issues. Say you're pressing the pedal, for eg 15 pumps, hold the pedal down, (its good if you get someone to help to reduce the chance of air getting into your system) then lock up the nipple, then pump up the pedal, so that it goes hard, and hold the pedal down, and crack the nipple, your pedal will go to the floor doing this as it releases fliud again, then lock it up, its just a precaution to make sure air really isnt in the system. Oh an make sure your reservoir doesnt hit below min.
  12. Umm just a question, has the car had a wheel alignment? like to check caster.....
  13. holy crap thats a rip job and a half!! Definitely look elsewhere
  14. Is it your cat thats smelling?
  15. you could always ring them up under the name of another workshop asking for info.... they usually wont f**k you over then other than that i have absolutely no idea lol
  16. Well when you think about, you genrerally undo an oil filter with a ratchet right? So youd have to be realllly stupid to overtighten it with your hand or built like the hulk.... the thread does stop......
  17. well it depends, you said it sounded like it was from the interior, as someone already suggested before, get someone to sit in the back to pinpoint the noise better.
  18. I got mine from supercheap, just make sure its length is enough, cos i gotta cut mine up. Cost me like 20 bucks. also try autobahn etc.
  19. So the cars a manual? going by you wanting to fill it up by the gearstick? or auto since you bought transmax z ATF ... which im assuming is a Auto trans fluid.... If its auto, im pretty sure most cars can only be filled via the dipstick, it will have a hot and cold reading, fill it up till the fluid comes up to the cold level, it may take a bit to drain down to the trans. And then run till its at op temp, and run the car through the gears and check the oil is up to the hot level reading. If its manual, they usually have a filler plug and the drain plug, drain plug at the bottom and filler plug to the side of the gearbox.... always easy on a hoist, but may wanna get one of those handy pumps ive heard so much about, if u cant get that then get a hose and a funnel and do it that way till the level reaches the filler plug and starts to dribble out of it. then again there could be some fancy weirdo way for a gtr so what i just typed could be totally wrong for a gtr.... Please correct me if im wrong anyone
  20. My diff made the same noise, i took it to a diff lapping shop, just the centre since its cheaper then getting them to take it out, and turns out the pinion was nearly ceased and the carrier bearings werent exactly the greatest. Cost me about 500 for it to be rebuilt, inclu new seals and bearings, havent heard a noise since. Its better than going out and buying used parts, atleast you know the jobs been done properly
  21. i got a clutch master cyl from zoom auto imports, but that was for a 32, try them
  22. possible alternator?
  23. I work for toyota aswell lol. And i totally agree, i love my 32 and would never stray from the skyline, but youd have to be a little silly to say that toyota cant make a good car, they've done it before, and they can do it again, their motors are strong and built to last... ie hilux - unbreakable hahaha. I heard at work that there was a drive day, and the Aurion was pitted against the falcon and commodore, and it outdid them. For a grandma car i think thats pretty good.
  24. ^^ Fuel consumption though? I mean its not that the old cruiser utes arent cool, its just they are old, and crappy on fuel Go a 4x4 diesel hilux, awesome cars, and pretty good pulling power.
  25. The dipstick measures about 1.5litres, so say u have a 2.0litre motor, add 1.5litres and about 200 mls for your oil filter and that approximately how much oil you put in. But it depends, cos always check oil after starting it. Umm try a washer, because it may just be that, ive seen a few other dodgy fixes like some people have used thread tape.... :S
